On the Set of Veronica Mars...There Aren't Even Words

So what did you do yesterday? I hung with this guy...and it wasn't bad...not bad at all. My flight just got in and I have to head to work, but I'll be back later with the full recap of my day on the set of Veronica Mars, as well as all the great pics.

Sidenote: As luck would have it, the battery on my camera died seconds before we got to meet Jason Dohring. So a special thanks to my new BFF Dan (DuckyxDale) for sending along these pics of Jason.

Don't Spoil Grey's Anatomy For Me

How do you people on the West Coast do it? I've got another hour and 45 minutes before Grey's Anatomy starts for me here in California. I am so tempted to check the boards and find out what happened with MerGe. Did She-Shepherd* tell He-Shepherd* anything more about her torrid affair with McSteamy? Did Alex and Izzie have dirty eyes again? Oh the suspense is killing me. But I won't do it. I won't be spoiled. But I hope you guys are around a little later to chat with me about it in the forums.

P.S. I'm watching Dancing with the Stars. But yeah, I read I spoiler & already know who won. I just couldn't resist.

*All credit to TvGasm for the new nicknames...I thought they were pretty damn clever.

California is Soooooo Nice..seriously...seriously!!

I'm a little busy soaking up the sun in San Diego, so sorry that I haven't been on the game the past two days. Once I get home from Veronica Mars-land, I'll be sure to up and posting more frequently. For now, here's just a few stories from the TV world.

RIP Don Knotts. The star of Three's Company, The Incredible Mr. Limpet and The Andy Griffith Show died of lung cancer. He was 81. (Boston Herald)

Ricky Gervais loves The Office, and says it may be his favorite sitcom. Good, now maybe the UK version-snobs will watch at least one episode before ripping it to shreds. (Zap2It)

Pics of Britney Spears on the set of Will & Grace have been released. It's amazing how good Britney can look with a little makeup, a hair brush and the right clothes. Why doesn't she put in the effort everyday? (Pink is the New Blog)

Tonight is the final episode for Dancing with the Stars. Will it be Stacey Keibler or Drew Lachey taking the top prize? Sorry Jerry. Special guest Mary J. Blige will perform. Gooooo TEAM DREW!!!

Give Me My Remote and Northern Attack are working on a joint project. Make sure you come back soon to hear all the details and to learn how you can help.

Alias is Coming Back

Bad guys watch out!! Our favorite international secret spies are back on the job. According to TV Diva Kristin Veitch of E! Online, Alias will return in all its glory on April 18th. It seems that we will see a 2-hour midseason premiere, 4 episodes and then a final 2-hour series finale in May.

If that isn't enough, rumor has it that the show will be airing its final episodes on Wednesdays at 8pm. A perfect lead in to JJ Abrams other hit...a show you may or may not heave heard of, called Lost.

In her weekly column, KV also dishes about the return of Lena Olin, Bradley "McHottie" Cooper, and one of the sexiest men alive - Michael Vartan. Check it out here.

Thanks to ABC for finally getting thei sh*t together and getting the show back on the air. And of course thanks to Kristin for always having the scoop.

I'm Off to the Left Coast

Kids, well I'm off. Heading out to good old San Diego, California for my much anticipated day on the set of Veronica Mars. I'll be taking detailed notes and a ton of pics. Fingers crossed that we get to meet the stars. Since we are scheduled to watch 3 hours of production, I thinking it's quite possible. I have all your questions for Rob Thomas and I'llbe sure to ask as many as I can. I'll miss you all!!!

Best TV Moment of the Week: Project Runway Designed Hammered

Remember earlier in the week when I begged you to watch the Project Runway Reunion Show? Did you? If so, then you've already seen this clip of ex-Runway designer Guadalupe Vidal absolutely blasted trying to answer a question from the hosts Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum. I'm not sure where she got her crack, but she should ask for a refund because she didn't get the good quality stuff.

Check it out...

The Beek May Be Coming Back to TV

First we get word that Pacey may be coming back to TV, and now the news that Dawson could be coming back too. Now if we could only find out what Joey Potter & Jen Lindley were up to these days. Hmmmm...those two just disappeared off the map.

Although he's my least favorite Creeker, he's still a Creeker and therefore I'm happy to report that James "the Beek" Van der Beek has joined the cast of a new CBS pilot called Sex, Love, Money & Politics. The show, which revolves around Capitol Hill staffers in their mid-30's also features Jane Krakowski and Jay Harrington.

The Beek starred in another pilot last year called Three, but it never made it out of the ground.

Best of luck to ya Dawson!!

Hugh Laurie is Modest & Funny

Hugh Laurie, who plays Greg House, on..well House, is sexy as all hell. Maybe not in your oh-so-obvious George Clooney way, but it's still there. But Hugh may be the last one to see it. He says that even his wife doesn't find him sexy, and it's a miracle that they have children. C'mon, I find that VERY hard to believe.

Hugh Laurie insists that he is "flabbergasted" by mentions of him as a sex symbol. And told Britain's Now Magazine that he hates baring his body on the show.

"I recently did a shower scene and it was one of the most traumatic events of my life. It struck me as a misuse of resources because the producers have gone to the trouble of hiring young, beautiful people with smooth skin and high bottoms and they go and pick the old guy with buns of yogurt. It staggers my wife."

Laurie confessed he can't believe he won the role in the first place. He joked: "I consider casting me to be a colossal mistake. I think I have a huge charisma deficit compared to all these American actors who look fabulous and sexy."

Three words for you Hugh: Dis-a-gree!! Own your sexiness you minx.

Grey's Anatomy Mad TV Sketch

Thanks to Jska for sending me this really funny Grey's Anatomy paradoy from Mad TV. Watch it NOW...NOW!!!

Dancing with the Stars - Gooooo Drew!!!

Yeeeeeeeesssss! My boy Drew Lachey did exactly what he needed to do tonight - dance his ass off. Each of the finalist performed two dances tonight. The first was another performance of their favorite dance to date, and the second was the freestyle.

Both Stacey and Drew received perfect scores for their first dance, but it was the freestyle where Drew brought down the house. While Stacey opted for a lackluster 70's jive to Stayin' Alive, Drew and his partner Cheryl kicked a little ass with their performance of Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy.

Drew's dance was hot, and so much fun to watch. He better take it all next week.

People call 1-800-VOTE-4-05 or go to ABC.com right now and VOTE for TEAM DREW!!!

And then head over to the GMMR Online Store to get your Team Drew shirt in time for the season finale.

Goodnight & Goodbye to Four American Idol Hopefuls

The following contains spoilers about tonight's American Idol. If you've TiVo'd it, then close your eyes and run away from your computer.

We started the night with 24 and now we are down to 20 finalists for your next American Idol. Tonight two of the ladies were eliminated as were two men.

For the ladies we had to say goodbye to Becky O'Donohue (who had to be THE most searched woman on the web today...seriously, you should see my site traffic) and Stevie Scott.

For the guys, it was the last night for Patrick Hall (I was surprised by this one) and Bobby Bennett.

You Must See the Project Runway Reunion

If you've never seen one single episode of Project Runway, I still beg that you check out the Project Runway Reunion show. I'm sure Bravo is going to rerun it at least 15 times during the week. This show was pure gold.

All the designers from this season get together and have to watch themselves talk sh*t about the other designers, and then respond. Oh, nothing like being called out in front of others....classic.

But there were two specific gems to the evening. One was when one of the designers started babbling in a drunken stupor. I mean the girl couldn't even put a sentence together. I had to watch the scene at least 6 times. Hysterical!!

And the other classic moment came from former contestant Daniel Franco. After host Heidi Klum complimented one of Daniel's designs, Daniel looked right at her and said "I love you, Heidi", and she just looked back at him like "oh sweet jesus"!! That was an awesome moment.

So like I said, even if you're not a fan, make sure you check it out. You won't be disappointed.

My American Idol Boys

Listen, there only on thing you need to know about tonight's American Idol. My boys were ON FIRE!!! Yes, my two favorite guys rocked the house tonight. Chris Daughtry brought it with his rendition of Wanted Dead or Alive, and Taylor Hicks was amazing singing Elton John's Leave On.

Vote for Chris: 1-866-IDOLS-06
Vote for Taylor: 1-866-IDOLS-12

I personally thought these guys were by far the best two performances tonight. The judges agreed too. Simon actually said for the first time that Taylor Hicks really deserved to be in the top 12 men. Finally!!!

The other guys worthy of my vote (although they're not getting it) are Elliott Yemin, who Simon described as perhaps the best male vocalist in the history of the show (um, he's no Clay Aiken), and dreamy Ace Young.

So after week one performances, I am sticking with the my Top 5 picks from last week. And they are:

I'm sure Idol Chatter will have the full breakdown later tonight or tomorrow.

American Idol's Becky O'Donohue in Maxim

Becky O'Donohue, a top 24 finalist on American Idol has some experience in front of the camera. Becky and her twin sister Jessie posed in Maxim Magazine last year for an article about "fantasty" baseball or something like that.

It seems Becky and her sister are all about the spotlight. After appearing in Maxim and before American Idol, the twins tried their luck on Fear Factor. Someone looking for a little attention?

Arrested Development Picked Up By Showtime?

This news falls into the category of "if you are F-ing with me, you are going down"!

BetterThanFudge.com is reporting that Showtime has picked up Arrested Development for 12 brand new epsiodes. The details are a bit sketchy, but BTF says that it is true, and the news comes directly from a lead actor on the show. He commented that this is NOT something he overheard or got from another website .

I need something...a press release, a soundbyte from Richie Cunningham...something!!!

P.S. I'm not sure I'm going to believe any of this until I hear it from Kristin Veitch.

Dwight Schrute has a MySpace Page

Finally!!! Rainn Wilson aka Diwght Schrute (Assitant Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin, Scranton Branch) has just launched an official MySpace page. There are imposters out there but this is really him. Pam/Jenna said so...so there!

God how I love the cast of The Office. They are just too freakin' cool for words.

A few other Office updates for you Office-ianados..

John & Jenna are featured in the latest TV Guide. Check out the article and image here. (and if you want the first ever joint interview with John Krasinski & Jenna Fischer - you know where to go)

I've had a lot of email from readers asking about the interview with BJ Novak. All I can say is that he has the questions, and I'm sure he'll get back to me when he can. Something tells me BJ Novak probably has a few other things to do besides answer questions from me. I'm just grateful he agreed to talk to me...what a sweetheart!

If any of you attend this Thursday's taping of Ellen DeGeneres (with guests J.Kras and Rainn) or the UCBT shindig with John Krasinski on Thursday night, PLEASE take pics and send them along.

Veronica Mars is Almost Here

Just a few more days until I head out to San Diego to visit the set of Veronica Mars. It's going to be great to get on that plane and chill. Work has been a bit crazy this week so I haven't really had the chance to prep for my trip. But I will...don't you worry, I'll be ready.

I think it's really cool that The WB and UPN (soon to be the CW) are recognizing bloggers in this way. I wish more networks would get on board. I've been trying like mad to get on the press lists for NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox etc but I guess with all the "legit" media types out there, they aren't looking to work with bloggers at this point in time. Blogging is here to stay network people. Get on the blogging train.

Stacey Keibler's Boyfriend is in 7th Heaven

If you were dating Dancing with the Star's vixen hottie Stacey Keibler you'd be in 7th Heaven too. But it seems Stacey's boyfriend really was in 7th Heaven...the TV show that is.

According to the in-the-knowsters over at Fatback and Collards, Stacey's longtime love is none other than Geoff Stults who used to play Ben on the long running WB drama. Geoff's brother George, is still on the show and plays Kevin Kinkirk, Lucy's husband.

Grey's Anatomy Comes Clean About Meredith & George

Krista Vernoff has some 'splain to do. Krista is the Grey's Anatomy writer responsible for the late night shirt-offing between Meredith and George on this week's show. Whether you are pro MerGe (ha) or not, you had to be shocked at the events that unfolded. The buzz is not all good, as some people are desperately trying to find a way to like Meredith, and her potentially breaking our poor Georgie's heart just isn't endearing her to us.

The writer's of Grey's Anatomy have thier own forum for reaching the fans, and it's called Grey Matter. It's bascially a blog where show creator Shonda Rhimes and her staff of writers can blog about the show.

This week Krista explains how after must protest, she finally came around to the idea of Meredith and George's affair. Below is a few of the highlights, but make sure you check out Grey Matter for all the details.

I think that for 20 years, Meredith has, somewhere in the deepest part of her psyche, held on to the fantasy that her dad is out there, just waiting to love her. I think she thinks that when she finally makes the effort to know him, he will open his arms, and open his heart and apologize for leaving and just love her like crazy. The news of Ellis’ affair was the opportunity Meredith had needed to finally forgive him enough to approach him. She gathered what had to be a HUGE amount of courage to knock on his door…And then the fantasy died.

And then she went to a bar and drank.

And then Mark made her hope again, if only briefly, that she could have the man she loves back.

And then she went home and stared out her window in a state that I can only imagine was tremendous pain and loss and grief.

And then George came in. And poor George DID NOT KNOW ANY OF THIS. He was not there to take advantage of her when she was in a vulnerable state. All he knew was that he had spent the entire day working up his courage to finally, finally make her hear him.
And, unwittingly, he said the world’s most perfect things.

He said he would never leave her (like her father did). He said he would never hurt her (like Derek did). He said he would never stop loving her.

And he was safe and familiar and so incredibly kind. And she wanted that kindness in her life very badly. She wanted to be a healthy woman who would choose the nice guy who loved her and stop chasing the sexy, unavailable guys who didn’t (or couldn’t).

It's Time to Vote for Your American Idol

The top 12 ladies kicked off the first real night of American Idol. The first night YOU get to vote. There were some decent performances, and one or two great performances. But before I get into my review, I have a few things to discuss.

(1) What the H-E-double hockey sticks are the producers are doing with these pre-performance interviews? Maybe it's just that these kids are newbies, but the interviews are painful to watch. I don't care about Kellie's jailbird Daddy, nor that Brenna didn't have enough food to eat as a child. Come on...I came to listen to their voices, not their sob stories.

(2) Um, is it me or did Seacrest get some work done? I think Ryan might have had a little 'tox around the eyes. Ryan, you are YOUNG and a guy...please tell me it ain't so.

Now here's my two cents on what really matters - the performances.

Mandisa: What a way to start off the show! Mandisa was a powerhouse tonight singing Heart's Never. I thought her voice was strong and she had a great stage presence. One of the stronger women tonight.

Kellie Pickler: The 2006 version of Carrie Underwood was ok, but not great. She was one of my favorites during the audition process, but tonight she didn't bring it. I thought she pushed the vocals a bit too hard and came off mostly flat while singing How Far by Martina McBride. She's cute and adorable so that's going to help her.

Becky O'Donohue: A perfect example of how looks can help you make it in this competition is Becky O'Donohue. I've heard her sing a few times and never have been impressed. She's gorgeous, no doubt, but she doesn't have the voice. He performance of Because the Night was nothing better than what you get from a local cover band. She's hot so I'm sure she'll be around for a few more weeks.

Ayla Brown: I was really split on Ayla's performance of My Reflection, one of my favorite songs ever! She was better than I expected, and really ran with a few of the riffs, but she didn't blow me over. But since she's from around here, and I wake up to her mom Gayle Huff on the news every morning, I'll go easy this week.

Paris Bennett: This little spitfire has a great voice, and had a ton of energy. I'll be honest, I was a little distracted by her dancing and jumping all over the stage, but no one else seemed to mind. All three judges loved her rendition of Midnight Train to Georgia. She was definitely one of the best of the whole night.

Stevie Scott: Yeah, I forgot this girl even existed, and I just watched her perform about 15 minutes ago. How does one sing To Where You Are by Josh Groban and not feel the need to put your full voice behind it? She started off sounding sweet but lost every opportunity to show her vocal range. I'm thinking she's the one to go. And by Simon's vocal hissing, I think he's ready to say goodbye to Stevie as well.

Brenna Gethers: The "I hate her and it's only the first night of voting" award goes to Brenna Gethers. Listen, she has made it this far because Simon likes her attitude. The producers thinks she makes good TV. But let's be real - she doesn't have the pipes. She's been all bad ass from day one, and them performs You are the Sunshine of My Life? C'mon. She wasn't the worst singer, but close to it, and I just don't like her. So there!!

Heather Cox: I heard at least 4 or 5 girls outsing this chic during Hollywood week. But those girls didn't have pretty blond hair and nice eyes, so they are at home watching this on TV. Heather has a nice voice, but she's no American Idol. And I thought it was a bit cheesy to sing When You Tell Me That You Love Me, an American Idol '05 cast song, during your first week. Pick something original people.

Melissa McGhee: I kind of liked Melissa. She told us that this was her first on-screen performance, which is probably why I didn't recognize her at first. She warbled a bit performing Faith Hill's When the Lights Go Down, but she had a strong voice, and a good stage presence. I hope to see her again next week.

Lisa Tucker: Lisa really stuck out tonight, and in a good way. She was definitely flat in certain sections, but I could forgive that because her song selection was so tight (Changing, by Jennifer Holliday), and she really brought it. She has a killer voice and I can see her going far in this competition.

Kinnik Sky: It's not a good sign that while someone is performing all I can think is "I hope Simon doesn't tell her she looks like a drag queen". But she does...sorry. Her rendition of Get Here by Oleta Adams was weak, and I shuttered a few times when she failed to make some of the notes. Plus, I'll be honest, I loved Justin Guarini's version of that song so much, I hate it when anyone else sings it. (Stop laughing...Justin was god). Kinnik will make it past tonight, but I don't think she'll go much further.

Katherine McPhee: Simon was right on when he said she was the strongest vocalist tonight. I was slightly distracted by her lack of stage presence, but that could have been nerves. Katherine rocked it tonight while performing Barbara Streisand's Since I Fell For You. She has a great control over her voice and knows how to sell the subtleties of a song. Katherine was my favorite singer tonight. And man, she so looks like Amanda Bynes.

So my picks for best and worst this week...

Best: Katherine McPhee (1-866-IDOLS-12)

Worst:
Stevie Scott

Who I want to go home: Brenna Gethers

The boys are up tomorrow night. I hope Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks live up to the hype...um, I've created. Now get to the phones and VOTE!!! I already did!!

McDreamy He's Not, But By George We Love Him

George O'Malley is a doer (something Meredith Grey knows well). He's lovable, cute as all heck, and I'd pick him in an instant to be the brother I never had. But what do we know about TR Knight, the actor who plays the lovable George?

Check out this CNN Q&A with Seattle Grace's most squashable Doctor. Find out what TR has to say about why the show works, George's relationship with Meredith, and the infamous shower scene.

Here's a little taste...

Q: Why do you think the show is so popular?

T.R. KNIGHT: You have a really -- excluding myself -- fascinating group of actors who are all very different from each other, exceedingly different. You've got really good writing and I really like the point of view of our creator, Shonda (Rhimes). I like her politics, I like what she stands for and I like what she's trying to do with the show.

Q: Tell us about that scene where you fantasized about showering with your female colleagues.

KNIGHT: I love that. I think it was a great, great way to bring people into the show. But it also made sense because the last episode you left it, George was in bed with Izzie and Meredith. So he's got a lot of frustrations with that, and so his desires have to come out even subconsciously somewhere.

Q: Was it fun to film?

KNIGHT: Oh, it was a blast! You know, everyone's really covered up. No one's completely naked. You get body makeup and so someone's spreading body makeup on you. I think if you were an exhibitionist, you'd kind of be in hog heaven, but I'm not that person.

For the rest of the article...check it out here.

Want to Chat with a Celebrity?

Have you ever dreamed that you'd pick up the phone and your favorite TV star would be on the other line? How fun would that be? The conversation could go something like this:

Ring..Ring

You: Hello
Celebrity: Hey, what's up?
You: Nothing. What's up with you?
Celebrity: Not much, just chililng in my trailer and felt like calling a fan of the show
You: No way. You are so cool.
Celebrity: Yeah I know. So I was wondering if you wanted to fly out to LA, and hang with me and the rest of the cast of The Office. We could grab a drink, and just chill. Oh yeah, I'm best friends with Michael Vartan, Dr. McDreamy, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper and Vince Vaughn,...would you mind if they hung with us too?
You: No problem. Sounds like fun
Celebrity: Ok dude, see you soon
You: Bye
Celebrity: Bye

A dream, right? (Well, yeah). But not if you have money. With the right amount of bank, you could have the chance to talk to celebs such as Rachel Bilson, Melissa Ehtridge, Brooke Shields and Kristin Cavallari. They are just some of the names auctioning off 10 minutes of talk time on eBay (
http://www.ebay.com/skypeaceleb). The auction was organized by VoIP company, Skype, and all the benefits are going to the Art of Elysium, an organization that connects artists with needy children.

So you never know...once of these days you could be talking to your favorite star. Just don't ask if you can marry them. I hear that's bad form.

Hope you had fun visiting my delusional world.

The White House Bans 24 Spoilers

The White House has issued a rule asking that no West Wingers talk about the latest episode of 24 until the new one airs. Seems that the staff, including Chief of Staff Andy Card, has been so busy lately that they often have to TiVo 24 and might need a full week before they get to watch the show.

I can't imagine why people in the White House would want to watch 24 as entertainment. Don't they live this stuff? I would think they would be bothered by some of the unrealistic settings and scenarios.

It's like my fabulous Dr. friend who once mentioned that he was irked by the inaccuracies of Grey's Anatomy. Or my super secret spy friend who just can't seem to watch Alias, because he's an international spy and some of that stuff is just made up. You know?! If you see that stuff everyday, how can it still be entertainment? Then again, I guess White House staffers aren't dodging bullets and debunking nuclear bombs on a daily basis....or are they? My friend, the spy, says I should stop writing now.

What to Watch Tonight: How I Met Your Mother

I don't know about you, but with all the hoopla surrounding the Olympics and all the reruns, I'm feeling a little ugh about TV these days. Maybe I'm in The Office and Veronica Mars withdrawl, but
with the exception of Grey's Anatomy, I've been a bit bored with TV these days. Gasp, I said it!!

But tonight I've something to look forward to. I've recently become a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother. I was intrigued when it first premiered in the fall, but opted to watch Kitchen Confidential instead. C'mon ladies - Doogie Howser vs. Bradley Cooper? Cut me some slack, I'm single. Anyway, when KC was canceled I was more than happy to fill that time slot with HIMYM. And I'm so glad I did. This show is the best part of my Monday's. For those of you who havent' seen the show, here's the basic premise.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segal), drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny may have something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

If you haven't checked it out, trust me, it's worth your time. The show is laugh out loud good. And Doogie Howser is STILL as adorable as he was at 11 years old...maybe cuter (only because he's no longer jailbait).

If you check out HIMYM for the first time tonight, let me know what you think?

Grey's Anatomy: McDreamy or McSteamy?

I just wanted to personally thank Shonda Rhimes for making my McSundays so McNice. Like being able to watch TR Knight (George), Justin Chambers (Alex), & Patrick Dempsey (Derek) didn't make Grey's nice enough, tonight she brings me Eric Dane (Mark).

Yes kids we now have McDreamy & McSteamy sharing space at Seattle General. Someone break my leg, give me food poisoning - something to get me into that hospital.

McSteamy's arrival made for yet another superb episode of Grey's. Is it me or does this show just keep getting better & better? And tonight's ending...three letters for you O-M-G!!!

Got a little poll for ya. Would you rather cozy up to McDreamy or McSteamy?

Who is hotter?
McDreamy
McSteamy

If you're a Grey's Anatomy fan, then jump into the McForums and let's dish about tonight's McEpisode.

T-Mobile Sidekick??

We interrupt our scheduled posting to ask you all a very important question? Does anyone own a T-Mobile Sidekick? I desperately need a new phone, and I want one that I can use to check email and update this blog. I have a Verizon Wireless account right now, but I'm willing to change services in order to get the best phone.

If anyone has any recommendations on the Sidekick or any other phone like it, let me know.

The Office Hits Entertainment Weekly

In the words of Jessie Spano, "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it"!! This week's Entertainment Weekly focuses in on my favorite show, The Office. The fabulous Steve Carell graces the cover, but the pics inside are just perfect.

The article gives some behind the scenes scoop as well as a few spoilers. Check out the article here.

But you know I had to post the pics...if for no other reason than I want to stare at them all day. Sigh...J. Kras you are adorable, Jenna looks gorgeous per usual, BJ looks hot, and Rainn looks creepy but cute!

Meet the Top 24 American Idols Contestants

Our friends over at Idol Chatter offer up a meet & greet with your top 24 finalists on American Idol. I think the men really have the edge this year. But there are some gems among the ladies too.

As of February 17th, here are Give Me My Remote's Top 5 picks. We reserve the right to change our minds (and we will with each passing week). We want to hear about your favorite Idol wannabe's. Head over to the American Idol boards to discuss.

Kristin Cavallari's Party is Over

After only two shows, UPN has cancelled Get This Party Started, the party-planning reality show co-hosted by Laguna Beach's Kristin Cavallari and Ethan Erickson. Low ratings are to blame.

This is good news from Team LC. Her MTV show The Hills only has to last 3 episodes before she surpasses her nemesis KCavs.

Veronica Mars Like We've Never Seen Her Before

Oh my Miss Veronica...you're making me blush. Kristen Bell, star of Veronica Mars, recently posed for Maxim Magazine. Her pics came out great, she really looks beautiful. I decided to show only one for the sake of my readers not yet of age.

This pic goes out to my boys Erik R., Steve W., Sarcasmo, Friscoguy & Fatback. Enjoy!

P.S. The rest of the pics can be found
here.

The Return of Bill Maher

For those of you who think that late night TV has become a little stale as of late, I wanted to remind you that the controversial yet honest Real Time With Bill Maher returns to HBO tomorrow night with the premiere of its fourth season.

You might not agree with Maher's politics, but he makes no apology for his world views. And not matter how dire the subject matter, it always goes down a bit smoother when served up with Bill's biting wit and humor.

Bill's upcoming diverse guest list includes comedian Eddie Griffin, Former Senator Gary Hart, Gloria Steinem, Actor Danny Glover, and Seinfeld Alum Jason Alexander (well we assume it's that Jason Alexander and not Britney's first husband...although that would be sweet!).

So check out Real Time with Bill Maher tomorrow (2/17) at 11pm on HBO.

American Idol Mini Spotlight: Chris Daughtry

I am a sucker for a man with a good voice. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. Take an average looking guy, add some vocals and I am in love. Case in point - American Idol's Chris Daughtry.

What I remember most about Chris's audition was his backstory. He's a young guy, who fell in love with and married an older woman, and now helps her raise her young kids. All together now...Awwww!!! I also recall his wife being a wee bit overexcited about his success. But that's cute I guess.

Anyway, I just thought I would share the Chris Daughtry love with y'all.

Tom Cruise on Oprah: If Only...

The brilliant folks over at Best Week Ever put together this faux clip Of Tom Cruise on Oprah. This is what should have gone down. Hysterical!!!

The Glamour of Project Runway

The following contains spoilers about tonight's Project Runway. If you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you change the channel, er, uh, I mean head over to the forums to chat.

As I've said many times before, I'm not a glamour girl. And believe me no one would ever call me a fashionista (that noise you hear is the collective nod of my girlfriends), but I guess I had no idea how far removed I was from good taste until I saw tonight's Project Runway.

In tonight's design challenge the remaining designers (Chloe, Daniel, Santino & Kara) were tasked with designing an evening gown that would be representative of their collection if they were make it to Fashion Week in NYC.

Per usual I liked all the dresses with the exception of Santino's. While I agree with the judges that Kara, Chloe and Daniel played it safe, I did think they were classy. And if I had a waist of a 6 year old girl, I think I could pull it off too. Seriously, those models are tiny. Itsy bitsy.

Supermodel Iman thought Santino's dress had "a great editorial". Wow! I can't believe Iman and I share the same brain. When Santino's model walked the runway in his dress, I kept saying "what a great editorial". (Note to self...figure out what the hell "a great editorial" means). In this context I'm going to go ahead and assume that by editorial Iman meant gawdy and hideous. First off, it was gold with sequins. Gold is scary enough, but with huge sequins draped in pleats...yuck. But those damn pics Santino has of the judges dancing naked at Tommy Hilfiger's last party came in handy yet again. He stays.
Daniel won the challenge (yay) and tonight we said goodbye to Kara. But let's face it. No one besides her family wanted her to win, so no big whoop.

So Chloe, Santino and Daniel would battle it out during Olympus Fashion Week in NYC. Actually, their collections have already been shown and a winner declared. But for some reason no one who was in attendance wants to spill. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What a Fox! Matthew Fox in GQ

Losties, Tailies, and even The Others can't deny how hot Matthew Fox is. Neither can GQ who features pics of Foxy in their latest issue. I came across these pics and I just had to pass on the eye candy.

Thanks to JustJared for the pics

American Idol Spotlight: Taylor Hicks

As I write this post I am being serenaded by Taylor Hicks, the current American Idol contestant with a voice that is so sweet and soulful that it amazes me that he isn't already a huge star. So who is Taylor Hicks? Even die-hard American Idol fans might not recognize the name Taylor Hicks but they do know him by sight. Taylor is the grey-haired guy who continuously amazes the judges with his powerful voice.

Is Hicks the Idol to beat? Who knows, but if you check out American Idol message boards, he's the one name that everyone is talking about.
Taylor Hicks might have the talent to go all the way in this competition, but let's face it, American Idol isn't just about talent. It's equally about the look and the attitude. Can Hicks transform himself into someone that the teeny boppers will root for? That could determine how far he goes in this competition. At the end of the day, no matter what demographic watches American Idol, it's the teenagers that vote. And voting is everything.

I'm anxious to see how far the Birmingham, Alabama native will to go transform himself into someone who looks like an American Idol. The AI staff can work wonders - just look at Clay Aiken. But it's really about what Hicks is comfortable with.

Another important factor is Hicks' stage presence. His Idol audition was nice to listen to but hard to watch. He nerves got the best of him, and he was fidgety and awkward. Since making it to Hollywood, the producers seem to want to focus more on the drama than the talent, so we haven't seen much of him thus far. Maybe he's already worked out his stage presence issues. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

But I'll have my eyes and ears on Taylor Hicks in the coming weeks. From what I've seen he's more than just a one dimensional talent that can belt the high notes. He's got a maturity to his voice that is sometimes lacking in the American Idol competition.

Veronica Mars TVGuide.com Chit Chat

Want a little behind the scenes scoop on everyone's favorite PI, Veronica Mars? TVGuide.com just had VM creator, Rob Thomas, answer some fan submitted questions. To make it easier for ya, I put the Q&A's below, but all credit goes to TVGuide.com.

Not sure this is going to hold me off until the show returns in March...oh wait minute, it doesn't have to. I'm heading to the set in less than 2 weeks. Did I mention that before? Oh I did? My bad.

Question: One thing I really liked about last year were the flashbacks. Are there going to be bus-crash flashbacks? And what are Lilly's chances of returning next season? — Sam

Rob Thomas: We loved our flashbacks, too. We loved them largely because they allowed us to have Amanda Seyfried on the show [as Lilly]. She was just awesome for us. Here's what I'll say — you will get to know the kids who died on the bus before the end of the season. We also have a few flashbacks to the summer before senior year that we'll be dropping in.

Question: How is it that Keith doesn't lose faith in Veronica? She lies to him (e.g., in the Duncan kidnapping episode) and he says he's disappointed, but by next episode all is back to normal. What am I missing here? — Famin

Thomas:
We actually did play some awkwardness between the two of them when Veronica is forced to admit she bugged Lamb's office and knows about Terrance's gambling problem. There was a longer version of the scene that elevated the tension and mistrust, but we lost it in getting the show down to time. I admit that we should've had more of that strained dynamic in there, and Keith's lack of trust may still come back to haunt Veronica.

Question: Is Wallace done with Jackie? — Jordan

Thomas: You must wait and see.

Question: I love the music you play on the show — every song fits so perfectly and gets me hunting for more from those artists after the show. At what point during production do you choose which songs to put in the show? Do you see the script and think of a song to fit in, or do you finish filming a scene and then think of a song? Bonus question: Your top five favorite bands? — Sunny

Thomas: When I write the scripts, I generally write with a song choice in mind, but I'm really the only writer on staff who does that. Most of the time, the songs are chosen once the show is cut together. My favorite bands? Hmmm. Wilco, the Clash, U2, the Replacements and Elvis Costello. Am I a 40-year-old white guy, or what?

Question: Any chance of a reunion between Veronica's dad and Wallace's mom? — Kelly

Thomas: Always a chance.

Question: Any plans for Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother) to come back this season? Another face-off between Kendall and Trina would be awesome! — Derek

Thomas: We loved that moment of the show, but it's very difficult to work around Alyson's schedule. I'd love a world in which we get to see her a couple of times a season, however.

Question: Please tell me that Sheriff Lamb is going to get his in the end. — Diana

Thomas:
Man, that's a loaded question. If I knew, I wouldn't tell you. I'll say this: The writing staff has grown to love writing his particular brand of weaselishness (if you'll allow me to coin a word), and Michael Muhney has become very adept at playing it.

Question: How far in advance are the story lines planned out? For instance, when did you decide you were going to do the "Donut Run" story line? Was the whole second season planned in the summer, or just the bus crash? — Scott

Thomas:
We knew by the end of Season 1 what our Season 2 mystery was, who did it, and the key clues that would be used to solve it. We also knew that Duncan would be leaving the show mid-season, but we were unsure how we'd execute that. But we arrived at our answer pretty early, two or three episodes in. UPN thought it was too grisly for everyone on the bus to die in the crash (as we originally intended) and asked that there be at least one survivor. The idea that Meg survived was born of that network concern; the idea that she was pregnant with Duncan's child followed shortly thereafter.

Question: I just wanted to commend you on the use of the crime-porn thriller Those Who Trespass, written by the infamous Bill O'Reilly, as Keith Mars' illegal transporting device. When I saw that, not only did I scream in laughter but I knew that Rob Thomas was a genius. — Jennifer

Thomas:
That is very kind, but it was writer John Enbom who chose Those Who Trespass.

Question: In the Season 2 opener, Veronica asks Logan what he was doing on the bridge and Logan responds, "What do you think?" Was he really going to jump before the PCHers came upon him? — Jennifer

Thomas:
In my mind, the "What do you think?" was a reference to thinking about his mom — not suicide. It wouldn't have surprised me if Logan tempted fate and did drunken cartwheels on the bridge and fallen off, but he doesn't strike me as the intentionally throw-himself-off kind of guy.

Question: Looking into the future of next season, what's going to happen to the characters who aren't college-bound or, say, wouldn't go to the same school as Veronica (i.e., Beaver, Weevil, Logan and Mac)? — Shannon

Thomas:
You must wait and see.

The Surreal Life...To Say The Least

The bizarre yet strangely addictive (especially on rainy Saturday afternoons) VH1 show, The Surreal Life, is coming back with a whole new bunch of D-Listers...make that E-Listers (I would never want to disrespect Kathy Griffin by putting these people on the D list). To be honest, I forgot that most of these people ever existed, but yet I am supposed to care enough to watch them living together in a house?! Gotta love TV!

Mixing it up Surreal style will be...

Tawny Kitaen - Best known for being a hood ornament in a Whitesnake video and beating the sh*t out of her husband, MLB pitcher Chuck Finely. Tawny still thinks she's all that, which is actually pretty funny.

Sherman Hemsley - Moving in on up, to the surreal house? Yup, the star of The Jefferson's will be mixing it up with these young cats. Too bad Weezie is dead, I would have liked to see her in there too.

Steve Harwell - Steve who? He's the lead singer of Smashmouth. The band that for some odd reason talk shows still book.

C.C. Deville - "Look what the cat dragged in". Poison's flamboyant guitarist will be "tearin down the walls" along with his new housemates.

Alexis Arquette - A member of the famous Arquette family, Alexis is best known for tearing it up as Boy George in The Wedding Singer. In real life, Alexis is contemplating undergoing a full operation to make her a full woman. This may be a whole other reality show.

Andrea Lowell - Playboy TV "correspondent" and playmate. C'mon VH1 needs to get guys to watch, and something tells me that Tawny Kitaen ain't going to get them there.

Joining the housemates will be "special guest star" Florence Henderson, who will serve as the first ever Surreal Life on-call therapist/advisor. Oh my. Mrs. Brady, I thought you hit rock bottom with the Wesson ads. This is so beneath you.

I Love My American Idol

I adore American Idol. I really do. But I can't wait until we can cut through the BS and just get to the singing already. There are some really good singers, but we don't get to hear them because the producers WRONGLY think we are more interested in the drama caused by those freakin' twins. I can't wait for them to go, and since I know it's definitely happening soon, I guess I can deal until then.

No one does Idol better than Jamie over at Idol Chatter. Check out the break down of tonight's episode.

No March Sadness - The Office to Extended Run

Looks like we won't have to say goodbye to The Office in March after all. NBC has announced that the season finale of The Office will be on May 11 rather than the previously announced March 30th. Looks like NBC is really backing the show by showing repeats rather than taking it off the air as was planned. Bravo NBC!!!

Something tells me that we might see a bit of a cliffhanger. Only 116 days until Pam & Roy's wedding...I'm just saying.

Official press release as found on FutonCritic.com.
BURBANK -- February 14, 2006 -- NBC has extended its spring lease on "The Office" (Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) through May 11 as the network will add an extra original episode plus other encore broadcasts that will now take the hit comedy past its previously announced season finale of March 30.

Happy Valentine's Day

Veronica Mars Episode Switch

After what seemed like a ridiculously long hiatus, Veronica Mars is going back to repeats - at least for a few weeks. The new episodes which were originally scheduled to air tomorrow and next Wednesday have been pushed back, and replaced with some classic eps from earlier in the season. Bummer!

Some speculate that UPN is trying to find a better lead in for Veronica Mars, who has been dealing with some really tough ratings this season. Veronica Mars had previously reaped the benefits of predecessor America's Next Top Model, but isn't faring as well behind the absolutely atrocious South Beach. As much as I'm all for fresh eps of VM, I can deal with the repeats, as long as it's going to help the show in the long run.

If you're a fan of Veronica Mars, you have to pass the word to your friends. Get them to watch just a few eps, and we all know they will be hooked. Lend them your Season 1 DVDs, pass along great articles and reviews of the show...something, anything to get their eyes tuned to UPN on Wednesday nights at 9pm (est). The merger of the WB and UPN is closer than we think. The big wigs are making the decisions, and they are doing so based on ratings...and don't think otherwise.

Upcoming Episodes of Veronica Mars
2/15: Rat Saw God
2/22: Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner
3/1: Ahoy, Mateys

2 Weeks Until Neptune

Two weeks from today I will be in Neptune, California. Well technically San Diego, CA but it's going to feel like Neptune as I'll be on the set of Veronica Mars. This is my first "press" event and I really have no idea what to expect. I know I'll get a tour of the set, possibly meet the cast and a lunchtime Q&A with the one and only Rob Thomas, but the unknown is still a little scary.

What am I supposed to wear? What questions am I supposed to ask? Is it wrong to wear my LoVe shirt? (don't worry, I won't). How am I going to react if I turn the corner and Kristen Bell or Jason Dohring is just standing there? I'm going to be there as a fan, but then again not really. Argh..so much to think about. And I need your help!

The one thing we know for sure is that we are going to have an opportunity to ask show creator, Rob Thomas, a few questions. If you have any really good questions, make sure to pass them on. And don't forget, he's not going to spill show secrets, so don't bother asking when Logan and Veronica are going to get back together. He's not going to answer it...and all the other bloggers will ask anyway ;)

Grey's Anatomy Recap & Spoilers (As We Know It)

The following contains spoilers from the 2/12 episode of Grey's Anatomy. If you haven't seen the show, I suggest you stop reading....now.

Last week's captivating "Code Black" episode wrapped up tonight with the same intesity and heart breaking performances as we saw just one week ago. Tonight we get some crazy fabulous acting from Ellen Pompeo (Meredith) and Chandra Wilson (Dr. Bailey). But then again, when isn't Chandra Wilson fabulous?

So here's the a quick look at what happened: The bomb is out of the patient, and Meredith is ok. Unfortunately the same can't be said for someone else in the hospital. Dr. Bailey has her baby but only because someone pulls, well, a "Bailey" on her. McDreamy has a tough day both on the table and in his heart. Aw. Izzie and Alex continue to be good at getting it on in weird and unusual places.

If you missed the ep, well it sucks to be you. Ah, just kidding. I've gone ahead wrote up a recap for you. I normally do this with the help of my trusty TiVo, but since I'm not at my house tonight, I had to write the recap while watching the show live. Once again, I didn't feel comfortbale posting the recap on the main site, as I just don't want to spoil it for those who have yet to see it.

UPDATE: ABC.com put together a montage of the best scenes from last night. It's worth checking out here.

The End is Near for Alias

Although ABC hasn't yet found a place for Alias on its schedule, my money is on it coming back and coming back strong. One thing we know for sure, the 100th episode is going to be a sweet walk down memory lane. It's been well publicized (so don't bust on me for the spoiler) that Bradley Cooper will be reprising his role as Will Tippen in the 100th episode. But he's not the only Alias alum returning to Syd's life. Keep your eyes peeled for Irina Derevko (Lena Olin), Sark (David Anders), Nadia (Mia Maestro), Weiss (Greg Grunberg) and even Anna Espinosa (Gina Torres). And perhaps one more character who just doesn't want to seem to die. And no it's not Lauren. I think the producers know better than to bring her back. Us Vaughn fans have been through enough this year without the return of Whoren Reed.

With all these old timers coming back, it's almost depressing that screen time is going to have to be devoted to the Alias newbies: Rachel, Renne and Thomas. I haven't warmed to these new characters yet. C'mon I'm an Alias purist - I like my old school spies and double agents.

For more inside scoop on what you can expect from the last episodes of Alias. Check out Michael Ausiello's interview with Alias Executive Producer Jeff Pinkner here.

Commander in Chief Benched Until Spring Term

ABD has announced that its hit freshman drama Commander in Chief will not be seen again until mid-April. The plan originally called for Chief to take a break to allow for the mid-season replacement, Sons & Daughters. But with slumping ratings, the February episodes of Commander in Chief have been pulled as well.

ABC maintains that they are still 100% behind the show, and that when it returns to the schedule on April 18th viewers will have 7 brand new episodes to enjoy.

Recap of The Office: Valentine's Day

I'm not sure what excuse you have for missing last night's Valentine's Day episode of The Office, but if you did, no worries. GMMR super fan turnituploudcapn once again provided us with an amazing recap.

Goodbye Arrested Development

Tonight we have to say goodbye, for perhaps the last time, to the Bluth's and Arrested Development. I'll never truly understand why the public didn't respond to this show. There is nothing more original on television today. The writing and the acting was superb. I'm really going to miss this show.

If you are a diehard AD fan, then I know you will be watching (and weeping) tonight. If you've never seen the show before, then you should tonight. It will probably be your last chance. Fox is presenting the final four episodes back-to-back tonight starting at 8pm est. In tonight's episodes:
George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) hires a new attorney who asks the Bluths to participate in a mock trial to help prepare them for the real thing. Back at the office, Michael (Jason Bateman) discovers he may have a long-lost sister named Nellie (Bateman's real-life sister Justine). Gob (Will Arnett) later goes to Iraq on a secret mission and winds up in prison -- and when Michael and Buster (Tony Hale) fly down to help him, they make a discovery that could change the family's legal troubles forever. Judge Reinhold, Jamie Kennedy and "American Idol" joke William Hung also guest star.
Here are a few Arrested Development articles I thought you might want to check out:

Brad Pitt & Madonna to be Extras

Reports say that Brad Pitt and Madonna have both signed on to appear on Ricky Gervais' show, Extras. They will join a long list of A-list actors who have appeared on the comedy including Ben Stiller, Samuel L. Jackson, and Kate Winslet.

If you have HBO and haven't yet checked out Extras, you should. It's a really funny show centered around the failed career of a wannabe actor (Ricky Gervais) who fulfills his dreams by appearing as an extra on various films. The show also stars Ashley Jensen and Stephen Merchant, who along with Gervais co-created Extras and The Office.

The Impact of Actor Blogs

The following was lifted from a great article called "We're In This Together" from Stylus Magazine. I thought you all would enjoy it.

Today, NBC’s The Office looks like the luckiest show on television: it grew from an underdog, underwatched late-season replacement last spring into a mainstay of NBC’s slowly recovering “Must See” Thursday nights, all in less than a year. But think back to the start of the fall, when the show started its second season and struggled in the ratings. As part of the show’s promotional efforts, writer B. J. Novak—who also plays Ryan the Temp—started a blog, which ran for a few weeks on TV Guide’s website before he handed it off to Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam the Receptionist. You might think this was a publicity stunt set up by their marketing department, like dozens of other show blogs (see: the “nurses’ blog” for Grey’s Anatomy) but I can say with 99.9% confidence that both Novak and Fischer are the real authors. Why? Because the blog is really dull.

Now, Novak had a few good lines, and the behind-the-scenes trivia has been fun. But by and large, it’s mundane stuff. Fischer likes to talk about the PlayStation football tournaments that take place off-set, and about how the cast likes to get together at someone’s house every Thursday to watch the show air. Novak gave more dish: in his first blog post he mentioned that the men behind the original, canonized British Office, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, had stopped by to meet the cast and give some feedback. He never followed up to tell us if they liked it, but don’t worry: if you listen to Gervais’ and Merchant’s own podcast, they give the show high marks.

Here’s the thing: dull as this stuff is, it’s also compelling—not just as a fanboy exercise, but because the stars start to become real people. Novak, Fischer, and now, all of the other staff writers and cast members who write blogs and MySpace pages, seem as honest as anybody can be online: they hide some insecurities while others slip out by accident, they laugh at stuff that makes no sense, they tell us what they think. And along the way, you understand how much the cast and crew are pushing for this show to succeed. They know their show is an underdog, and that quirky single-camera mockumentary shows that make the audience pay attention start off way behind the eightball. You can’t help but root for them: week after week, you feel like you’re getting to know and like them, and you pray for them to succeed.

When Moore, Novak, and the rest of these people ramble through their blogs and podcasts, they’re following the season with you: they’re engaging you in the “metastory,” where you not only care if Pam and Jim will get together, but you wonder if they’ll get a third season renewal. And listening to an executive producer admit that he blew it is like getting a seat at the ship captain’s table. He’s still in charge, but you both have a destination, you’re getting closer and closer, and sink or sail, you’re in this together. How could you possibly tune out now?

Give Me My Remote's Must See TV

Isn't it sweet to have good line-up on Thursday nights again? Granted the best shows are on a bunch of different networks, but that's what the remote is for, right? I've got TiVo so don't be jealous that I can record two shows at the same time. Ok, be jealous!! Here's a run down of what I'll be watching.

Survivor: Exile Island (8PM est on CBS)
Technically I think the show is called Survivor: Panama, but I feel like since they've been to Panama before, they need a fresh new title. So here you go CBS...run with it. As I told you last week, I've decided to watch this season of Survivor, so I'm excited for episode number 2.

Dancing with the Stars (8pm est on ABC)
I need my weekly Drew Lachey fix. Well that's a sentence that I never thought I would say in my life. But if you watch the show, you can't help but be happy every time that boy struts his stuff. He's so damn good. And for some reason I still love that Nick is so supportive and shows up for the live show every week.

The OC (9pm est on Fox)
From what I can tell, Public School Ryan Atwood (aka Johnny) died when he fell off that big rock and on to the sand, but we don't really know for sure, do we? Anyway, from the scenes I saw it seems that Coop and Mini-Coop are doing what they do best - blaming others for their problems. It's Valentine's Day in Newport, so all I can do is hope that Seth buys a teddy bear holding a dime bag.

The Office (9:30pm est on NBC)
While Michael & Jan are away at DM Corporate Headquarters in NYC, the other Dunder Mifflinites celebrate VD...um, that's Valetine's Day you pervs. Bob Vance (Vance Refrigeration) showers his lady love Phyllis with gifts. Will Roy do the same for Pam? And our little Jimmy Halpert has been teetering on the edge since his not-so-secret cursh was revealed. Will a holiday centered around love and romance be enough to finally make his move? For the love of God I hope so. Roy & Pam are getting married 4 months from tomorrow...it's do or die Halpert.

As always, your fellow TV addicts will be discussing these shows before, during and after in the GMMR Forums.

Project Runway : Designs for the Designers

Did anyone catch last night's Project Runway? The 5 remaining designers had to design an outfit for another one of the 5 designers. Daniel for Chloe, Kara for Santino, Santino for Kara, Nick for Daniel and Chloe for Nick. Chloe's design for Nick was fabulous. It was a pinned-striped pant suit with a vest that had a pink back. Paired with one of those chain wallets, he looked fantastic, especially for her first attempt at menwear. Chloe won the challenge and rightfully so.
Nick & Santino came in last place tonight. The judges thought the suit Nick made for Daniel was too feminine. I thought he looked good, but then again my idea of fashion is questionable at best. Santino made Kara a one piece jumpsuit that she not only felt self conscious in, but was literally falling apart on the runway.

In the end, Nick went home, and Santino was saved, yet again. I don't know the what the hell the producers are thinking by keeping Santino. Does he have pictures of them naked or something. Week after week his designs are not only ill-fitting but ill conceived. Is Santino being saved every week because he made one or two outfits way back in the beginning? I just don't get it.

John Krasinski on Leno TONIGHT!!!!!

Set your VCRs, TiVos, or just make sure you are home to watch the one, the only, the fabulous John Krasinski (Jim Halpert, The Office) on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I've caught John on Tony Danza, Carson Daly and Conan O'Brien and he's a great guest. Thanks to Narc from the GMMR Forums for giving me the heads up. I don't know how I didn't know this before. This just made my day...it doesn't take much people.

Veronica Mars Recap: Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough

Veronica Mars was really goodtonight. Well except for the parts with Logan that weren't good...damn you Rob Thomas.

In a nutshell....
The Neptune High Seniors are raising money for their Senior trip. When the $12k in funds go missing while under Veronica's watch, choas ensues and people are called trash. So not good, but fear not, Veronica Mars is on the case.

Meanwhile, Logan woos a non-Veronica, and I don't like it. Not one bit. And Keith woos Terrence Cook, his baseball hero.

Kelly Clarkson's Big Grammy Night

Congrats to American Idol's own Kelly Clarkson who took home two Grammy's tonight. A very emotional Clarkson won for Best Pop Album (Breakaway) and Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Female (Since U Been Gone). I'm such a huge fan of Kelly Clarkson and have been since her audition on American Idol waaaaaay back in the day. In honor of Kelly everyone needs to turn on Since U Been Gone and rock out!!! Way to go, Kelly!!!

If you're a fan of Kelly then you'll love this video. It's a compiliation of ALL Kelly's performances on American Idol.

Michael Vartan is Back on Alias

So have Mr. Vartan and Mrs & Mrs. Affleck made their peace? Aww who cares Vaughn is back! Word is out that Michael Vartan will be returning to Alias for as many as six episodes. Damn, had I just not wasted my la la la's on my last post, I could have used them here. But I have to wonder, how are they are going to write a dead guy into a script for six episodes? Hmmm. I don't care. In the words of the great Bon Jovi, he's Wanted Dead or Alive.

Welcome back Agent Michael Vaughn, we have missed you. And while I'm at it, welcome back to Will Tippen as well. Hottie McHot Bradley Cooper (The Wedding Crashers) has agreed to return to Alias for episode #100. According to the fabulous AA:

"...(this ep) will find a witness-protected Will getting sucked back into Syd's drama-filled world just as he's about to ******* ** *** *** **********. (And yes, each asterisk corresponds to a letter.)"

If any of you GMMRers have any idea what those asterisks could stand for, PLEASE let me know. But leave your guesses here rather than as a comment. I don't want to "spoil" this episode anymore than I already have.

Chris O'Donnell To Guest on Grey's Anatomy

La la la la ...oh happy day.... the sun is shining and the birds are singing (ok, I'm lying, it's 12:40am) but I am trying to create a picture here people. I'm trying to let you know that I am very happy right now. Why? Well, because Michael Ausiello has reported that Chris O'Donnell will be guesting on Grey's Anatomy for not one, not two, but eight...count 'em eight episodes, starting in March.

For you younger people, Chris O'Donnell played Robin in all of those old time Batman flicks. My crush on Mr. O'Donnell goes back quite some time. During my college days, I had quite the thing for Chris (come to think of it I had quite a thing for another Chris as well...but anyway). To me, Chris O'Donnell was the quintessential boy next door. Those eyes, that hair, that smile. He was is so adorable. I will never forget the day when my friend Tuccs posted Chris O'Donnell's wedding photo on door of the student government office. I moped around campus for at least 2 days.

Chris has had some bad luck as of late. With a canceled show this season, and a lack of movie parts, I'm hoping this Grey's Anatomy stint will remind people of who Chris O'Donnell is. I mean look what Grey's did for Ronald Miller Patrick Dempsey.

The point of this post? Anytime a hot actor guests on a hot TV show it's a good thing.

Vote for Jim and Pam in Valentine's Day Poll

Jammers, we need your help. TVGuide.com is running a Valentine's Day poll and wants to know how you feel about TV's best couples. Jim & Pam (Jam) are in the running for Which TV characters do you most want to see together?

You have to go there are vote NOW. Vote as many times as they will allow. Vote for Jam HERE!!!

P.S. Yes, I know that LoVe is on the list too. But here's my theory. As much as I want to see Logan & Veronica together, some of their best scenes are when they are snarking at eachother. Plus they are only in high school where Pam is only about 123 days away from marrying Roy - this is do or die time for Beesley and Halpert. Wait...what...this is only a TV show? Right, right.

Jon Stewart Welcomes Baby Girl

Congrats to Daily Show host Jon Stewart and his wife Tracy on the birth of their daughter Maggie Rose. Maggie was born on Saturday and weighed in at 6 lbs, 9 oz. The Stewart's have a son Nathan who was born in 2004.

Kristin Cavallari is Getting The Party Started

The Queen Bee of the Laguna Bitches is headed back to TV. Kristin Cavallari will co-host Get This Party Started, a reality show in which a worthy is thrown a surprise in his or her honor. Cavallari and co-host Ethan Erickson will work with the recipients family and friends to not only throw "the party of a lifetime", but also to keep the guest of honor shielded from the big surprise.

Tonight's premiere episode features Arin Jones, an LSU student who wants to throw a surprise 21st birthday party for her sister Alexis. Arin, Alexis and the rest of their family have been living in a hotel since the Katrina disaster ruined their home in New Orleans. Um, if their home was ruined by the hurricane, then aren't these people better suited for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition?

Oh and if I were turning 21 and trying to juggle college responsibilities while living with my whole family in a hotel because my house was wrecked, the last person I want showing up at my door is Kristin Cavallari. LC or Lo maybe, but Kristin...no, thanks! I love the diva in KCavs, but she sure as hell doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.

Check out Get This Party Started tonight on UPN at 9pm est. If it's good then you didn't waste your time, and if it was bad, well then we will be trashing it in the forums tomorrow. Either way I'll be counting the number of times KCavs says "like".

Ricky Gervais to Write Episode of The Office

Comedy genius Ricky Gervais is going to be writing an upcoming episode of the NBC hit show The Office. Gervais, along with Stephen Merchant created the UK version of The Office and are Executive Producers of the US version.

Gervais who starred as David Brent, the office manager portrayed by Steve Carrell in the US version of the hit show, seems pleased with the US adaptation. Gervais was quoted as saying:

"The success of the American Office is overwhelming. It's a pleasure and honour to continue being involved....They've could've panicked and watered it down, overreacted for live studio catchphrases and unrealistic characters begging for laughs - but they didn't."

No word on what the ep will be about, or when it will air.

I really hope this is a validation for some of the UK enthusiasts who have not given the US version of The Office a fair shot. These are two different shows, and they should be viewed on their own merits. Both versions are laugh out loud funny, and should be enjoyed for what they are.

Thanks to Matt at The Laugh Machine for the heads up on the story.

Exclusive Interview with TWoP's Erin Dailey

We TV addicts love our recaps. Even if we' ve seen the show, we like to read recaps to see how others interpreted the same events. And as much as I know you all love GMMR's The Office, Veronica Mars, Lost and 24 recaps, even we will admit that THE place for recaps has been and will always be Television Without Pity (TWoP).

Special Guest blogger (and co-founder of the GMMR forums), Fatback, has scored an exclusive interview with Erin Dailey, one of the best recappers over at TWoP. Erin has worked tirelessly over the past 5 years to bring us recaps of one of my faves, Alias, and we are SO excited that she was willing to answer Fatback's questions.

Enjoy!

Fatback:We all love your recaps on TWoP (Television Without Pity). How did you get that gig? All my writing pals, want to know if it made you rich? I mean, come on; you are living the dream down in Charleston, South Carolina, right?

Erin Daily: Awww, thanks. I actually got the gig through my own site. I'd been writing for my site for a year or so and I'd also been writing for a couple of other sites and I found Hissyfit, which is Tara Ariano's site, and through that, I found Tomato Nation, which is Sarah D. Bunting's site. Sarah and I started reading each others stuff and we became buds. Then my boyfriend at the time told me that all this Internet writing was great, but I should be getting paid to do it and why didn't I ask my friend Sarah how to make some buckage off my writing. I asked, she said, "Wanna write for Mighty Big TV?" and I said, "Hell YEAH." I was assigned to American High and a television-show-skewering career was born.

And, no, it doesn't make you rich. It does, however, give you a name, seeing as TWoP is one of the most well-respected television websites on the market. It's considered an industry standard, so the writers often get noticed by Hollywood producers and directors and (generally) we garner their respect. That's better than money, honey!

Fatback: Now that Alias has been cancelled will you continue recaps for other shows for TWoP or any other sites for that matter? I think I know a site looking for writers, heh.

Erin: I'll recap anything TWoP wants me to. Seriously. Even if the show smells of day-old ass. They're currently full-up on recappers, though, so they may not require my services. I won't know until next season if there are any available spots. A site's looking for writers? Really? You got their number? Momma needs a new pair of shoes.

Fatback:How do you think the addition of prime time TV shows to iTunes will affect recaps in the future. For example, I feel more pressure to get our recaps out quicker because of it (although it's easier to recap at work now using iTunes downloads. Score!)

Erin: Well, Television Without Pity has never been based on speed, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, yes, we want to get the recaps out as quickly as is humanly possible so that readers will be able to get the full lowdown on any given show that we cover, but we're more concerned with giving readers as much detail and commentary as possible; so if that means the recap takes five hours, then it takes five hours. And most of the recappers can't devote five hours to a recap the night a show airs (some of that sh** comes on late, yo!), so a 24-hour turnaround isn't always possible. I'm sure Sars and Wing would love it if we could all get the recaps in the next day, but since most of us can't, they're okay with the recaplets we send in to hold readers over until the full recap appears.

We're also responsible for putting in links and creating polls, so that takes more time than just doing a straight recap. We try to make them as fun and engaging as possible. That's easier with some shows than it is with others, obviously (West Wing? I'm looking at you.), but we do our best.

Click here for the full interview with Erin Dailey of Television Without Pity.

A special thanks to Fatback for scoring this interview. Make sure you check out his site, FatbackandCollards.com. It's sexy, southern gossip at its best.

Grey's Anatomy Code Black Recap: OMG!!!!

If you didn't see Sunday's Grey's Anatomy, STOP what you are doing right now and head over to iTunes to download it. I'm not kidding. Do it right now. There's a link to iTunes on the right side of the page...use it. Even if you have never seen's Grey's, it doesn't matter - you must see this episode. In the words of the Grey's cast: "Seriously" (ed. someone just informed me that Grey's Anatomy isn't available on iTunes. My bad. I thought ABC offered all its stop shows. Well off to the recap for you then.)

This was the most incredible ep ever, and it's not technically over (those three dreaded words: To Be Continued). I'm not going to even give a recap on the site right now, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it. But a recap is available in the Grey's Anatomy section of the GMMR forums.

Check out the Grey's Anatomy recap for Code Black here.

Give Me My Remote: News & Notes

Has Dave Chappelle lost his mind?
Did Dave Chappelle walked away from $50M because he needed more Vitamin Love? What the hell is that? I caught him on Oprah the other day and it was bizarre to watch. Sometimes he sounded like a level headed person who took himself out of a potentially "dangerous" position. But her times he sounded like someone who just wasn't all quite there. Oprah didn't quite no what to make of him either. It does sound like he might make it back to his show...if they'll take him. Check out Zap2it for the fully story.

SNL in for a big change?

Lorne Michaels says that SNL is in the midst of transition. Expect to see a few different things from SNL in the near future. Hopefully this new blood will make the show watchable again. It's the Chronic (what) 'cles of Narnia. (Yahoo!)

Are you ready from some football...commercials?
In light of today's Super Bowl (which seems so wrong without the Patriots), I thought I'd share an intersting article about the most important aspect of the game...the commercials. Find out what goes into these quick spots, as well as what you might be seeing today. (NY Times) If I'm going to mention football at all, I might as well use the opportunity to give you a little eye candy. We'll miss you on that field today, Tom Brady.

The blowhard is back on Blow Out
Pompous jackhole Jonathan Antin will be back on Bravo in March for a whole new season on Blow Out. This show is such a guilty pleasure, I'll be watching it. (The Futon Critic)

Sidenote: I remember during the first season when Jonathan did Kristen Bell's (Veronica Mars) hair for the Golden Globes? I had no idea who she was at the time. Oh how things have changed. Did I mention that I'm going to visit the set of Veronica Mars? Well I am! And I will probably be mentioning it everyday until I leave three weeks from now. Just a warning.

Britney's Role to Change on Will & Grace

Ok, I'm going to get myself in trouble for this one. So as you probably read, Britney Spears will be guesting on an upcoming episode of Will & Grace. According to the original statement Brit was going to play some kind of Christian-conservative chef on a cooking show entitled Cruci-fixins. Well, that didn't sit well with some Christian groups, many of whom called for a boycott of the show. In response, NBC issued the following statement:

"Some erroneous information was mistakenly included in a press release describing an upcoming episode of 'Will & Grace,' which in fact has yet to be written. The refernce to Cruci-fixin’s won’t be in the show, and the story line will not contain a Christian characterization at all. We value our viewers and sincerely regret if this information has offended them."

Seriously? Aren't these conservative Christian groups always bitching about something? With all the horrible things happening in this world, don't they have other things they need to worry about other than Britney Spears on Will & Grace? It's called free speech people. And why is a network altering programming for one particular portion of the population? So is the deal that if a certain group complains about how they are being portrayed, NBC will alter the storylines to accomodate? That seems like a slippery slope. But if that's the case I have a few requests...I'm Irish, and I don't want NBC protraying Irish people as drunks or Mobsters anymore. And oh yeah, I'm from Boston, and we don't all have those thick accents, so can you do something about that? There 's a fine line NBC...be careful.

To all I say live and let live. If you don't like what you're watching, there's about 300 different channels you can turn to. NBC and other networks need to be careful about who they bow down to. Becuase let's face it, if the Christian conservatives had their way, there would never be a show called Will & Grace in the first place.

Veronica Mars & Neptune...Here I Come

I've got some great news for fans of Veronica Mars and GiveMeMyRemote.com. Later this month we are going to have some fantastic inside scoop behind your favorite show. The fabulous people at UPN are flying yours truly out to California to spend a day on the set of Veronica Mars, and to have a lunch time Q&A with creator Rob Thomas. Can you believe it?! I just found out and I'm still in shock.

I'm trying to imagine what it's going to be like to see the set, and hopefully the cast. It's going to be surreal, that much I know. And of course there's the opportunity to meet the man behind the curtain, Rob Thomas.

I will be live blogging as much as possible, and you can bet that I'm brining at least two cameras with me. Yes, two cameras. I learned this lesson years ago when I went to a Q&A with Kerr Smith (Jack, Dawson's Creek). I borrowed this great camera only to have the batteries die the minute he showed up. But I digress.

If you aren't a fan of Veronica Mars, then I'm going to assume that it's because you've never seen the show. I'd be hard-pressed to find someone that gave it a fair chance and just didn't like it. I urge you to check it out. Season 1 is available on DVD now. Season 2 is underway but you can catch up...I promise. We are going to be talking a lot about this show in the coming weeks, and I want you to be a part of it.

Once I get more details, I will be sure to share them with you. I have to come down off my cloud a little before then.

Recap of The Office: Boys & Girls

The worst part of my week is Thursday at 10:01pm. That's when The Office is over. I get sad. Sniffle, sniffle. It's definitely my favorite show on TV right now. Lost and Veronica Mars are right behind it, but I gotta give the edge to The Office. It's the one time during the week that I am guaranteed to laugh, well that and when I get my paycheck.

This week's episode entitled "Boys & Girls" was fantastic. It was hysterically funny, but with just enough special Jam moments to keep me happy. It was written by the fabulous BJ Novak who I will be having a little Q&A with next week.

If you missed the show, don't worry. An awesome GiveMeMyRemote.com reader named turnituploudcapn, wrote a fantastic recap. Check out the recap of The Office (Boys & Girls) here.

And if you feel like spending the money to download last night's episode on iTunes, you can find the link on the right hand side of this very page. I aim to please.

By the way, writing about The Office give me an opportunity to post pics of John Krasinski, and you all know how I love that!

Survivor Exile Island Premieres Tonight

I've never really watched Survivor. I tried to get into it the very first season but halfway through the first episode I saw Richar Hatch naked, and I've never really been the same.

At the urging of some GMMR.com readers, I'm going to give it a shot. Some of the new twists of this season, including Exile Island has got be intrigued. So, I'll be watching tonight's premiere of Survivor. If you are, and want to talk about it during or after the show, I've set up a thread for it in the GMMR forums.

Did You Watch Veronica Mars?

So I told you to watch Veronica Mars last night. Did you? Well, did you? Don't lie to me - I'll see the ratings soon enough. If you were involved in some tragic accident that kept you away from watching Ms. Mars, don't fret, the latest Veronica Mars recap is available in the forums.

If you did watch, then you know how kick ass last night's episode was. Could Weevil and Logan be my new favorite couple? A little more quality time together and those two are going to need a moniker. Lovil? Weegan?

I'm already looking forward to next week. Thanks to the fabulous Sienna, you can get a glimpse into what's happening next week on Veronica Mars.

"Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough" -- When all of the proceeds for the senior class trip disappear while in her possession during the Neptune High Winter Carnival, Veronica must identify the clever thief among them and surprisingly finds herself defending Jackie as accusations fly.

Meanwhile, Keith confronts his baseball idol and client Terrance Cook (guest star Jeffery
Sams) with questions about his past and the bus crash. Later, Dick tries to humiliate Beaver in front of his carnival date as Logan sets his sights on a sophomore. (ed. boo hiss...Duncan finally leaves and Logan eyes a sophomore? C'mon.) VERONICA MARS, Wednesday, Feb. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

And since we are talking about Veronica Mars, let me take this opportunity to pimp my upcoming interview with Jason Dohring. This is your LAST CHANCE to submit your questions here.

No Place for Alias on ABC Schedule

You know why TV shows don't have the longevity of yesteryear? Because the networks have a bunch of number crunching bozos in charge setting the schedules. How are TV watchers suppose to become loyal to a show when the schedule is constantly being shifted? Not one of my favorite shows has had a "normal" season over the past few years. And by normal I mean it comes on in September, exits in May and stays on the same night and time throughout the season. More than once I have sat down to watch a particular show only to find out that it's on a different night and time, and oh by the way, now up against another of my must see shows. I'm getting sick of it.

So what's the catalyst for my nonsensical and poorly written rant? Well ABC just announced its midseason schedule, and lo and behold, there is no space for Alias anywhere on it. Yes, Alias, the same show that has been on hiatus for months with a promised return in March. The same show that is scheduled to end in May after a 5 year run. And yes, the very same show that according to ABC big wigs, deserved a proper send off. ABC Entertainment President, Stephen McPherson, had this to say just a few months ago:

"Alias' is not going to wind down as it comes to an end, it's going to rev up, and we're going to make it the event it deserves to be."

Sounds like your are really committed to this show Steve!! So committed that you couldn't put in on the schedule. I'm sure the new shows that are premiering midseason will be great. Just as great as "Emily's Reasons Why Not". Way to go on that one Steve-O. Why can't they just put Alias on the schedule, and let me have some sense of closure for a show that I have committed to for over 5 years now. And seriously, if I don't get a Michael Vartan fix soon, I'm going to snap.

Grey's Anatomy Casting Scoop

The following contains a mini-spoiler for Grey's Anatomy. Proceed with caution.

We've got a hot new man at Seattle Grace Hospital, but he's less McDreamy and more McSlimy. Eric Dane (Charmed) is set to stir things up as Mark, the former best friend of Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd, and former lover of McDreamy's wife, Addison. If you remember it was Addison's affair with Mark that drove Derek out of NYC and into Meredith's bed.

Why Mark would come all the way to stir up trouble for the Drs. Shepherd, I don't know, but it's certain to cause a bump in the Drs' already shaky path to reconciliation.

I just hope the writers don't put Mark & Meredith together because (a) that's so cliche, and (b) poor George can't take much more of Meredith's sexual conquests with men that aren't, well, him.

Veronica Mars Need Your Help..and Your Eyes!

Veronica Mars needs your help..."shocker" (ha)! If you remember, last week I was bitching that Veronica Mars was preempted in Boston in favor of a college basketball game. Well come to find out, this was this case in many markets across the country. The result was a nose dive in ratings for Veronica Mars.

With the upcoming merger of The WB and UPN, this is a crucial time for Ronnie and her friends. They need to prove that they belong on the new CW network. This is where you come in. You must, must, must watch Veronica Mars tonight....live. If you normally TiVo VM and watch Lost, flip it and reverse it. The Losties and the Tailies don't need your eyes, they are just fine without you for tonight.

Tonight sounds like it's going to be another stellar ep, here's what's happening:

Wallace (Percy Daggs III) turns to pal Veronica (Kristen Bell) for assistance when a star player from his former Chicago high school basketball team -- and the guy's shady uncle -- falsely accuse Wallace of driving the car in a hit-and-run accident.

In the meantime, Veronica and Keith (Enrico Colantoni) stumble upon evidence that links Jackie's (Tessa Thompson) dad Terrance (returning guest star Jeffrey Sams), a baseball legend, with the teacher that died in the bus crash.

Later, looking for proof that would tie his gang with the Fighting Fitzpatricks mob, Weevil (Francis Capra) asks Veronica to bug Father Fitzpatrick's (guest star Rod Rowland) confessional at the local church. She's a busy girl, our Veronica.

Britney to Guest on Will & Grace

My friends over at AllThisNonsense.com are reporting that Britney Spears is going to be a guest star on an upcoming episode of Will & Grace. She's going to play some kind conservative Christian cook on Jack's, Out TV.

Will & Grace is ending its run in a mere matter of months. With a precious few epsiodes left, I have to wonder why they chose to devote some of that time to Britney Spears?! Don't they know that she is ovah?! But then again, it's indicative of the direction Will & Grace has been heading the past two years. Ouch! Sorry, but the mighty has fallen.

Josh Jackson Coming Back to TV in New Legal Drama

My day just got a little bit brighter. According to TV Guide, my #1 TV boyfriend*, Josh Jackson, is coming back to TV. Oh happy day!!! Jackson, best known for playing Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek, is set to star in CSI exec producer Carol Mendelsohn's CBS pilot about brilliant legal associates at a powerful D.C. law firm. Pacey as a lawyer? In a suit? Give me a moment to enjoy that visual.

Update: To those of you who have sent me emails, please let me clarify. Josh Jackson is my #1 TV boyfriend, and has been for quite some time. Pacey & I have a history. That does not in anyway diminish my love for John Krasinski. But I appreciate your emails all the same. Ha Ha!
