ONCE UPON A TIME: Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas Preview ‘Snow Falls’
November 6, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
On tonight’s brand new episode of ONCE UPON A TIME, viewers will get to delve deeper into the love story at the center of the series — the relationship between Prince Charming and Snow White. But if you think you know their story, get ready to be surprised by what unfolds onscreen.
“I can tell you that it is unexpected,” Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret) told reporters on set last month. “I was really excited to tackle the inception of their story because it is based more on animosity and manipulation and selfishness. And they have a very far way to go from their moment of meeting to falling in love and that was greatly challenging and fun.”
“When they first meet, it’s very interesting,” Josh Dallas (Prince Charming/John Doe) continued. “It’s fantastic how, because you get a glimpse of Snow White before she was Snow, before we see her with the seven dwarves, we get to see kind of a glimpse into her life at the time and then you get to see where the prince is at that moment in time and how he becomes Prince so you meet them. There’s definitely this huge attraction when they first meet, for sure, under very interesting and fun circumstances.”
The hour is so good, that when I asked Dallas what his favorite episode was of the series (so far), he pointed to “Snow Falls” as one of the two he’s enjoyed the most. (His other favorite will be airing in a few weeks.)
“I love them all, but [episode] 1×03 is great,” Dallas said. “It was a lot of fun to shoot and it’s just great. That’s what’s so great about [ONCE UPON A TIME co-creators] Eddy [Kitsis] and Adam [Horowitz] is that they’re great storytellers and I think that’s…each episode keeps getting better and better and better and the storytelling keeps getting better and better. You know, they come from the world of LOST, which is epic storytelling, which is what this is, so they’re very familiar with that kind of landscape and so every episode keeps getting better and better.”
