What I Watched Last Night…or Didn’t – Prison Break, Everwood, How I Met Your Mother

Prison Break
Missing Prison Break really threw me for a loop. For the life of me I can’t understand why it didn’t record. I did have one other thing taping at the same time, but (1) Prison Break started before the other show, and (2) it’s higher in my list of priorities. I really can’t explain it, but I do know I am so bummed. I’ve yet to find a good recap, so I guess I’ll hold out for TWoP to post later this week. From what I read, it was a great episode, and one I shouldn’t have missed. Um, can I sue TiVo? Amy lawyers out there?
Everwood (contains spoilers)
Bright, oh not so Bright Abbott. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Oh wait, I’m sorry, Bright your an ass. After what seemed like a complete 180 from his old old cro-magnon self, Bright manages to screw up..yet again by sleeping with that chick from Nip/Tuck. I happen to find her seduction scene a bit much. I know some pretty slutty girls (yes, Jess…I’m talking about you..he, but the way she threw herself at him? She clearly has some self esteem issues, agreed?
The torment on Bright’s face at the end of episode during his conversation with Hannah was killing me. He loves her, he really loves her. But how could he do this to our Hannah?! Looks like she’s going to find out next week, and it’s not going to be good. Not. At. All.
Has anyone realized that little Ephram Brown is growing up right before our eyes. Week after week the boy seems to come to another self realization (conveniently in the last 5 minutes of the show). Gregory Smith is so damn good. As is Treat Williams. There scenes are so intense, even when they aren’t bickering. But it’s been way too long since Ephram and Andy have had to deal with a major conflict. I fear that they are due. And this is purely speculation, but I’m wondering if the big Everwood death (which according to spoilers we can expect within the next few weeks), is going to be none other than our little Delia Brown. It would be cruel to have Andy and Ephram have to deal with another loss in their lives, but from a plot standpoint, it could bring the drama to a new high. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
How I Met Your Mother
Riddle me this…how is How I Met Your Mother not getting more attention these days? The show is hysterical, and it keeps getting better with every episode. I will admit, with Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and this little show I fancy called The Office – I have become a bit of a single camera-no laugh track snob. But How I Met Your Mother is right up there with the best comedies on TV today…laugh track and all.
Neil Patrick Harris is a God. His comedic timing is impeccable, and he’s such a nice compliment to straight man Ted. But the rest of the cast has really stepped up their game too. Jason Segal’s new “lawyered” catch phrase could be up there with the best of the Barney-isms. Without even realizing it, HIMYM has moved its way on to my can’t miss list. And for those of you who caught last night’s episode, there were too many funny parts to mention, but the scene with Barney borrowing Ted’s water just to spit it out…..legendary!!
