2005-2006 TCA Nominations
May 31, 2006 by Kath Skerry
The Television Critics have spoken, and ironically enough, I like what they have to say. Earlier today the 2005-2006 nominations for the Television Critics Association awards were annouced and some of Give Me My Remote’s favorites were honored with noms. These nominations were so good that it was uber-difficult for me to pick my fave in each category. I mean…super hard. Really how am I suppose to choose between Grey’s Anatomy and The Office for Program of the Year? who do I betray? My head or my heart.

My random thoughts…
Um, did you notice that The Office is the ONLY comedy nominated for Program of the Year??? Take that TVGuide.com and your stupid Dream Emmy Ballot
MAD props must go to Lauren Graham for not only getting nominated (Gilmore Girls is too often overlooked), but nomiated for your comedy skills….and being the ONLY woman in the category against those comedy heavyweights. You go Lorelai!!
Speaking of Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, how about the combo of Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart? My Daily Show boys…ah, we knew you when.
Finally, you don’t know the anguish I felt choosing Grey’s Anatomy over my beloved The Office. It physcially hurt to highlight the name and hit CTRL B. I’m still not convinced that I made the right choice, but I figured since Grey’s was one hour and The Office only a half hour show, I had to go with Grey’s because they kept me addicted for double the amount of time. I’m sorry Office-ianados…I really am.
For program of the year, I’d have to go with either The Office or Lost. I do like Grey’s, but for me, it’s not in the same league as The Office or Lost. I would be devestated if I missed an episode of either of those two shows, but I wouldn’t be totally upset if I missed a Grey’s episode.
So, Office is your head, and GA is your heart?
That’s it. Hand in your Office-ianado badge. And I’m telling John.
NOOOO…I went with my head on this one. The Office is in my heart.
Kudos to Lauren Graham. 🙂 It’s about time.
I’m detecting a distinct lack of Veronica Mars, but overall not bad.
Oh, and how could I forget to mention Hugh Laurie? Muy Excellente.
