Star Jones Fired from “The View”
June 27, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Ding dong the witch is dead. Star Jones-Reynolds announced this morning that she is in fact leaving The View. See ya…don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out. Sorry, but I loathe Star Jones and I am so happy to see that she is finally leaving the show. Although I would have loved to see the sparks fly if she and Rosie were forced to sit at that table together every morning.
Anyway, check out Star’s Emmy winning performance as she broke the news to the audience, as well as her co-hosts (like they didn’t already know..come on now).

What makes her annoucement so impressive is that she has already been blabbing to whomever will listen that she was in fact fired from The View. Check out what Star told People Magazine about her departure.
“What you don’t know is that my contract was not renewed for the 10th season,” Star tells People. “I feel like I was fired.” Star adds that she was told her contract wouldn’t be renewed just days before news leaked that O’Donnell would be joining The View.
Oh snap. Yeah, The View is moving in a different direction, Star…away from your obnxious, self righteous act.
Update: Babs was none to pleased with Star making her dramatic annoucement yesterday without informing her co-hosts. I guess they really didn’t know. According to Barbara Walters, they had planned on canning Star 6 months ago, but it was never the right time. Also, rumor has it that Star was asked NOT to return to work today. I’ll be TiVoing it to see how it oes down. SCANDAL!!!

I hate her too. Not that i watch the show but I’m glad she got the boot.
BTW – your video of star’s announcement isn’t showing.
Yeah, I can’t et iFilm to work here for some reason. Sorry. I just reposted the image which will link you over to dlisted.com to watch the clip.
Not working for me either. Anyhoo, can someone answer me this? Who fired Star’s Face? That thing is brokedown. Seriously I hope Rosie does nothing but make fun of Star for the first week!

hey i was just wondering if you heard about the new NBC contest to make your own The Office promo on YouTube. if you haven’t, go to http://www.youtube.com/theoffice to find out more!
by the way, love the site!
What I’m wondering is how well Rosie will go over with Elizabeth “Whiny Brat” Hasselbeck. I swear I can’t stand that girl. I can’t figure out how I loved her on Survivor and yet I want to ring her scrawny neck every time I see her on The View. Ah well. I hardly ever watch the show anymore anyway.
Perhaps Star should go back to lawyering. It seems like she enjoyed it.
Merry Christmas to all!! St Nick came 6 months early & swapped that (diminishing) lump of coal for a sugar plum – yeah! Star has been obnoxious, arrogant & self-absorbed since her earliest days on The View, with little to contribute that didn’t in some way demonstrate her supposed superiority to the masses. i think the main reason she didn’t want to admit to gastric bypass was pride – she was smart enough to pass the bar & by golly she SHOULD be capable too of controlling her appetite (personally, I’d say the latter is harder for most!) I believe that it was Star’s right to refuse to discuss how she lost weight, but not to imply falsely that it was primarily the result of self-control & Pilates. Anyone who has seen Her Lawyerliness scarf down a food sample (especially a Philly cheesteak!) or attempt to exercise on The View (she once scraped her leg on a bike & from her reaction, you’d have thought it was an amputation) knows her comment was b.s. at its most blatant! Bye, Star – dust off that oft-mentioned JD, you just might need it again!
