Lauren Graham Interview

TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello recently had a little chit chat with Gimore Girls star, Lauren Graham.Check it out to read Lauren’s thoughts on the departure of the Palladinos, the shocking season finale, the future of Gilmore Girls, and what it’s like to be married to Steve Carell.
Here’s a little taste…
Ausiello: Well, speaking of Gilmore, what was your reaction when you found out Amy was leaving?
Graham: I still am in some sort of denial. She was directing the [season finale] and she told me personally one night after work. You know, there had been rumblings, but there always are this time of year, because they have renegotiated pretty much one year at a time. I thought there was a chance for a reconciliation. From what I understood from her and then from what was printed, the reasons why don’t really match. So I don’t know. They’re both really talented.

Rescue Me Recap (Discovery)
Title: Discovery
Original Airdate: June 7, 2006
Last time on Rescue Me: Tommy’s godson, Damian, is banging his science teacher, Miss Turbidy. Chief put his wife in a home. Sean’s dating Tommy’s sister. Janet kicked Tommy in the balls twice: by telling him she was glad Connor died, so he couldn’t turn out like Tommy, and by sleeping with his brother Johnny. Bitch. Lou gave away his money to a con woman. Bitch. How much am I loving this show’s depiction of women? Well, men too.
———————————————————————————–
Sheila’s taking care of Tommy’s dad. He insists his birthday party will go well. She’s wondering whether Tommy asking her to help with his dad is “a thing”, when Tommy interrupts them. She sort of cutely flutters about saying she bought him a travel mug, which doesn’t quite impress him since he thinks it’s kinda gay. When his dad says he’s inviting Janet to the party, Tommy tells him that’s fine, she’s family, but she better not bring her boyfriend or “I’m going to stick this Brokeback coffee travel thing right up his goddamn ass.”
As Tommy goes to leave without the mug, Sheila stops him to tell him she won’t be able to stop by for his dad later since she’s got a parent teacher conference…with Mrs. Turbidy. Based on Tommy’s reaction, she can tell he’s met her and thinks she’s hot. “I know all your grunts, and your tics, and your tells…I can read you like a goddamn dog-eared book.” He leaves in a bit of a huff, but he gets the last word: Sheila gets to give his dad an enema. Sheila and I both hope he’s kidding.
On his way to work, Tommy sees Lou walking along, smoking a cigar. Lou spots him and spits it out…and he’s 50 bucks down. Credits.

Here’s a quick synopsis of the movie:
License to Wed follows newly engaged couple Ben Murphy (Krasinski) and Sadie Jones (Moore) who run into a bump in the road while planning their wedding. Sadie’s always dreamed of a traditional wedding held at her family’s church but in order to be married at that church by Reverend Frank (Williams), they must pass his “patented, foolproof, marriage-prep course.” In order to find out if they truly are meant to be together, they have to go through a series of classes and complete outlandish homework assignments.
If you happen to see any pics of John from the set, please send them along. We will be your best friend. Oh and as an added bonus, I just came across a pic of Mandy and the fabulous Angela Kinsey who also has a role in the movie. Jim Halpert & Angela Martin on the big screen together. Yay!!!
NBC’s Windfall..Does it Hit the Jackpot?

What would you do if you won the lottery? I can’t imagine there is one person reading this that hasn’t asked themselves that question at one point in time. Now imagine how much more fun it would be if your friends became equally rich at the same time. Hot damn, now that would be a good time, right?
Windfall, a summer series drama premiering this Thursday at 10pm on NBC, allows us to watch as a group of friends, neightbors, and the pizza delivery chick live out that very dream when they collectively win $386M in the state lottery. The show follows the winners “good” fortune to see how their lives are affected by their new found wealth.
Although 20 people are splitting the cash, the show really focuses in on the impact of 9 of the characters.
We got…
- Sean (D.J. Cotrona), the bad boy flower delivery guy with a sordid past, perhaps a good heart, and killer eyes
- Damien (Jon Foster), a 17 year old with an impulsive streak and bad relationship with his pops
- Nina (Lana Parilla) and Peter (Luke Perry), a “seemingly” happy married couple with two daughters
- Cameron (Jason Gedrick), a college professor who happens to be Nina’s childhood sweetheart, and his wife Beth (Sarah Wynter), a florist
- Kimberly (Malinda Williams), a hard working single mother
- Maggie (Jaclyn DeSantis), a young and sassy nurse who wants to use this money to help others
- Frankie (Alice Grecezyn), a teenager whose life only gets worse when her mother wins a share of the lottery admist a divorce from her dad
Listen NBC, you had me at Luke Perry. Sorry, but as a 30 year old woman, I am the 90210 generation, and Dylan McKay will always be in my heart. He’s like one of the New Kids on the Block…no matter where he goes, or what he does, I will follow him blindly. Luke’s Windfall characeter, Peter Shaefer, is far from the brooding rebel that was Dylan McKay. Paul is a devoted husband and father who is trying his best to hold his marriage together despite his wife’s lingering glances at her childhood sweetheart who lives down the road.
But there is more to Windfall than Luke Perry. There are other hot guys too…ok, and hot women!! I couldn’t help but notice the eye candy while watching the pilot, sue me. So what were my thoughts on the first episode?

If you missed out on the phenomenon that was Prison Break, fear not, Fox has just announced that the Season One DVD will be released on August 8th. Now’s your chance to catch up with Michael Scofield and his band of merry men as they try to make their way out of Fox River and into the free world.
I have already seen every episode of this show, but I am definitely going to buy Season One on DVD. Prison Break is so layered, that I’m sure I missed a few things during the first viewing. Also, knowing what I know now, it’s going to be interesting to go back and watch as everything unfolds.
The 6-disc DVD set is loaded with special features including audio commentary and behind the scenes features. Click here for a full list of special features.
Prison Break The Complete First Season will be available to own for $59.98 US ($89.98 CAN) but you can save a ton of money by pre-ordering it TODAY from Amazon. Just click on the green link below. You aren’t going to find it any cheaper, and once it’s released, the Amazon price is going to shoot back up.
Oh, I’m told there is a hidden Easter Egg, and if you find it, you’ll get access to Wentworth Miller’s naked shower scenes. Could be a rumor, but maybe not. If that’s not reason enough to hit the green box below, I don’t know what is.
Farewell Everwood (Series Finale Recap)
June 6, 2006 by Kath Skerry
It’s over. One of the best written and best acted dramas on TV just ended, and it didn’t have to. Shame on you CW for letting Everwood go in place of some other, less worthy shows. I think this is a decision you will come to regret. Man (and woman) can not live on Chad Michael Murray alone. Oh, and thanks for the salt in the wound with all the CW promos during the show. Classy.
On to the recap….Julie took this one after some technical difficulties on my end (which almost led to a nervous breakdown as you can imagine), and I think she did the series finale of Everwood justice. Share your thoughts on last night’s series finale either in the comments or in the Everwood thread in the GMMR forums.

Title: Foreverwood
Original airdate: June 5, 2006
Welcome to the finale of Everwood.
Before on Everwood: Amy and Ephram were meant to be, but recently he’s been dating Stephanie (aka Kat from Battlestar Galactica). Jake and Nina were planning to go to California, but Andy bought a ring just in case.
——————————
Kitchen cleanup in the Brown house. Stephanie’s fitting right in with the rest of the Brown squad as they discuss Delia’s bat mitzvah, which they’re holding at the carousel of the fairgrounds. Delia invites Steph, which Andy seconds, though he’s upset that they’ve got the guest space since Jake and Nina won’t be coming. Heading outside, he takes out his aggressions on the trash, insisting to Ephram that things are better this way and he’ll return the ring tomorrow.
Ephram has a nice butt. Sorry, but I’ve got to inject a little bit of levity into this, since things are threatening to get a little heavy here.
The house formerly known as Nina’s. Nina’s pulling a Lorelai and is severely hopped up on caffeine, doing some serious packing. Hannah brings up Andy and inspires Nina to go off on some lovely verbal diarrhea about her romantic history with Andy, ending by telling her about the engagement ring Andy’s holding onto for her. They decide to do some sleuthing to check out the ring, which goes predictably well: Andy arrives home while they’re sneaking about, and Hannah accidentally smuggles out the ring in her shirt, though she ably distracts Andy so Nina can sneak out. She’s cuckoo for cocoa!
At the medical office, Kathy, whose husband recently died, is worried about caring for Lily, her new baby. Dr. Abbott tells her the schizophrenia medication is working and she’ll be okay, but she’s not convinced. You know, all babies are cute, but Duncan’s baby Lilly is way more adorable.
As Ephram relocates his stuff to Reid’s old room, Amy stops by their apartment. Amy isn’t particularly psyched to hear that Ephram has plans with Stephanie, or that she’s coming to Delia’s bat mitzvah. Later, as Hannah’s packing, Amy does her typical overanalysis and bordering-on-jealous obsession about whether she’s really over Ephram.
Jake says goodbye to Edna and Harold. He tries to lure her to CA, but she ain’t interested. She’s still really sad about Irv, but she’ll get through it, she says. Looking at his picture after Jake leaves, she can’t control her tears.

Summer is Not for Reruns Anymore

Over the past few years, networks have really embraced fresh, new programming during the summer months. From what I can personally remember, it started with The WB, and their summer series Young Americans. Remember? Young Americans was the Dawson’s Creek spinoff starring Rodney Scott (American Dreams) as Will Krudski. Will, was Pacey‘s friend that accompanied Dawson and crew on Spring Breakto Aunt Gwen’s. After leaving Capeside, Will headed back home to attend a summer session at the prestigious New England prep school, Rawley Academy, where he was awarded a full scholarship. During his time at Rawley, Will had to adjust to his new life surrounded by privilege and power and his old life as a blue collar kid trying to make something of himself. Is it coming back to you? Well although Young Americans was short lived, it did introduce us to some young actors who we all know and love today.
So who were these then unknowns? Well this 8 episode series featured Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), Ian Somerholder (Lost), Katherine Moenning (The L Word), Matt Czuchry (Gilmore Girls), and Michelle Monaghan (MI: III) to name a few. Not a bad cast for a summer show on The WB.
Since then, summer shows have introduced us to a characters who are now part of our beloved TV family. Don’t forget, The OC started as a summer series. It became such a hit Fox promoted it to a full series. And where would teeny boppers around the world be without Jesse McCartney, who started off in the summer show, Summerland? Yeah, I’m liking this trend of fresh programming during the summer months.
So what shows do we have to look forward to this summer? Oh there are many, and I couldn’t be more excited!! Here’s a quick look at what I’ll be watching this summer. Check back throughout the week for more info on each show.
First up is Windfall. Premiering this Thursday, Windfall follows the lives of twenty friends who share in a multimillion-dollar lottery jackpot, only to experience the problems of instant wealth. I was lucky enough to get an advanced screening, and let me just say that Luke Perry still looks good. Stay tuned this week for a full review of the pilot.
Entourage, my boys are back. Hot damn!! June 11th marks the return on Vince, Eric, Turtle, Johnny Drama, Shauna, and my beloved Ari. Ari is starting out on his own after being fired, and Vince is on the verge of megastardom with the premiere of “Aquaman”. You know what that means…more money, more sex, and more trouble. This is going to be good!! I’m actually looking forward to recapping this show each week.
One of the most powerful shows on TV, Rescue Me, premiered last week. After a too long hiatus, it’s good to know that the guys haven’t missed a beat. Comedian (and Boston hero) Denis Leary has never been better as the traumatized and tortured Tommy Gavin. I’m a bit perplexed as to why this show hasn’t had more recognition come Emmy time. It’s truly one of the best. Oh, and I have had a ton of emails asking that GMMR provide weekly recaps of the show. Well you’re in luck. Starting this week, GMMR recapper extrordinaire, Julie, will be taking on the weekly review of Rescue Me. Be sure to thank her!!
Sometimes I wish I were a gay man just so I could be considered one of Kathy Griffin’s “gays”. The Queen of the D List is back with a second season of her aptly titled reality show, My Life on the D List. Premiering June 6th, the show will follow Kathy as she pisses off A-listers all while trying her best to climb the ladder to C-List stardom. Kathy Griffin used to annoy the hell out of me, but over the past year or so I have come to adore her and her catty ways. If you ever get the chance to catch her stand-up special, “Kathy Griffin is….not Nicole Kidman” be prepared to laugh your ass off. Seriously, her take on Oprah, Seacrest, Clay Aiken, and Barbara Streisand, among others is brilliant.
There are a ton of other shows to be watching during the summer, including Project Runway (which I will be recapping as it’s one of my FAVES), Deadwood, Closer, The 4400 (which I will be getting you some great scoop on courtesy of a GMMR friend on the inside track), It’s Always Sunny in Philadephia, and Saved. If you are a fan of any of these shows and want to provide your two cents to GMMR, definitely let me know.
So a ton of fresh new TV to keep up going through the summer. Like I said, we’ll be talking more about these shows individually over the next week or so, so make sure you come back now…ya hear!
This Week on GMMR…Good News/Bad News

Previously on GiveMeMyRemote.com…
GMMR was dealing with the stress of her move and the gut-wrenching season finales of all her shows. Facing a summer without new episodes of faves such as Veronica Mars, The Office, and Grey’s Anatomy, GMMR retreated to a fantasty world where all things were right in TV Land. Chris Daughtry was your American Idol, Jim and Pam ran off to elope in Austrailia,
BeaverCassidy Casablancas didn’t kill the kids on the bus, and Marshall & Lilly were still going strong on the wedding path. GMMR’s fantasty world was a nice place to visit, but would we ever get her back to update her much neglected blog? Stay tuned….
OK, ok, I’m back. I know I’ve been a little MIA lately, but things have indeed been crazy. There was a little lull on GiveMeMyRemote.com coinciding with the end of the traditional ’05-’06 TV season, but I’m back…and in full effect y’all. We’ve got a lot to catch up on, so here’s a look at what we’ll be talking about this week. Oh, and I’ve got a new interview lined up with one of today’s most “controversial” TV characters. Read on friends…read on.
First up, the bad news: the end of Everwood. Like the rest of you, I am mourning the end of one of the best dramas on TV today. The two hour series finale will air tomorrow night, and I’ll be back on Tuesday with a recap and my thoughts on this television travesty. I’m sorry, but One Tree Hill gets renewed, 7th Heaven gets a reprise and Everwood gets canned? What I would pay to have a sit down with Dawn Ostroff and the powers that be at The CW? With all the horrible TV that makes it on the air today, it’s so sad when an amazing show like Everwood is let go. We’ll talk more about Everwood tomorrow, but I’d love to hear more about what you think has made Everwood so great during its run.
Next…the summer shows!! I am officially excited for TV’s summer season. Check back a little later tonight for a quick recap on the shows we can look forward to this summer. I’ll be talking about most of these shows individually throughout the week, but it’s important to know what new TV we have in store over the warm summer months.
Also, we’ve been together for almost an entire TV season now, so I want to hear from you. Later this week I’m going to be launching a survey to find out what you all think about GiveMeMyRemote.com. What is working for us now? What can we improve upon moving forward? What shows do you want us to cover next year? That kind of stuff. If you are a regular GMMR reader it would be mean the world to me if you would take the survey. So watch out for it later in the week.
And now for some great news!!! We all know that there our two sides to every story. Well in the case of today’s hottest TV love triangle, there are actually three stories to be told. Earlier this year, GMMR got the scoop from The Office’s Jim and Pam, and now it’s time to hear from the one guy in the world that won’t be squeeing when he hears about Jim and Pam’s casino night smooching…Roy.
Yes, GMMR has landed an exclusive interview with David Denman, who plays Pam’s fiance, Roy, on The Office. If you have any questions you are dying to ask David (or Roy) make sure you send them Monday. David and I will be talking later this week. I’m really excited about this one. From what I hear David is a great guy, and he’s so sweet to talk to me. Although, I will admit, I’m a bit nervous. It’s very surreal to talk on the phone with the actors from your favorite shows. Seriously, I wish someone had a camera on me during my first 20 minutes talking to Jason Dohring (Logan, Veronica Mars). I had already met the guy in person and I was still shaking like a leaf. Listening back to our conversation, my voice was at least 3 octaves higher than normal. Hopefully I will be able to keep my calm while talking to David. But then again, he’s on The Office, so I can’t guarantee that I won’t freak out.
Um, a few things to remember if you are going to leave me question/comments about this interview.
- David is NOT Roy, so even if you aren’t a fan of Roy, don’t be bashing David.
- Don’t bother asking him what’s happening in Season 3…he won’t be able to spill it. So if you want to know if Pam and Roy get married on June 10th or call the whole thing off, you are going to have to wait for September – that much I guarantee.
- Make sure you read other’s questions before posting your own.
- Think really hard about what you would like to know from David. Not only about Roy, but about his life, his work, and of course, life at Dunder Mifflin. Why do I have a feeling I might get some questions about his role as Skip on Angel? Hmmm.
Hopefully this interview with David/Roy will keep you Office-ianados going for awhile. I have another Office treat planned for later in the summer. It’s not an interview, but it’s a fun little project that I think you might enjoy. And for those of you who were wondering about my interview with Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute)…that’s going to be happening at the end of the summer. Closer to the start of Season 3.
So as you can tell, I’m back. The summer is full of TV news and gossip so I hope you will stick around with GiveMeMyRemote.com. I’m happy to say that the site is growing and growing fast. There’s way too much TV for me to cover on my own, so if you would like to contribute to GMMR in any way, please contact me and tell me what you’re interested in doin for us.
And don’t forget…if you see any good articles on your favorite shows, pass them along so I can share them with the others.

The Office Marathon Makes My Day

Well I’m all moved into my new place. And by all moved in I mean I am surrounded by boxes, the site of which make me want to cry. Oh and the smell of fresh paint is really great, if you are looking for a cheap way to get high. All and all it wasn’t a bad day. It was hot here in Boston so it didn’t suck that the movers were two hot guys who kept insisting on taking off their shirts. Although the movers did most of the work, I’m still exhausted…mentally & physcially.
Since it’s been such a long day, I just wanted to personally thank NBC for being so kind as to host an Office marathon tonight. How they knew I was moving today and really needed to unwind with my favorite show is beyond me. But alas, I’m grateful all the same. Two straight hours of The Office is the perfect way to end my otherwise trying day. I do have to say that in light of the season finale, it’s kind of weird to watch these older episodes. Pam and Jim’s interactions seem so trivial now that love has been declared and kisses have been exchanged. Then again, it’s nice to see the build up to the ‘moment’.
So I’m back….I have cable and the internet in my new place, so I should be back to my regularly scheduled postings.
We’ve got a lot to talk about during the week ahead. I received the pilot for Windfall and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Plus, we have to get ready for the premieres of all the summer shows. We’ve got a lot to do people…a lot to do.
A Fond Farewell to My Favorite Scenes

Yeah…still packing. I’m not so good at this moving stuff. I’m good for 20 minutes and then I get distracted. But I had to take yet another break to share with all of you the details of my last distraction. See a few hours ago I realized that by moving I would have to give up my DVR cable box as I have a new cable company in my new apartment. You know what that means? All the shows I have been saving for the past year are going bye bye. Sniff. Every episode of Season 2 of The Office…adios. The “I am God” episode of Veronica Mars – the episode shot while I was on set…see ya. Oh it’s a dark, dark day.
Before I unplugged my cable box and TV, I had to say goodbye to some of the scenes that made this past year so memorable. It was tough but I made it through. Here’s to you…my favorite scenes of the year!
Seriously, do you know what it was like to watch the last minutes of “Casino Night” for the final time? It damn near killed me. Good things I put those scenes on my site so I can watch them whenever I want (thank god for youtube.com). And at the end of the show when my DVR asked if I wanted to DELETE or SAVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t hit DELTE. It would have been too painful.
Oh, and the bitch of it all….
With all the TV I watch, I just didn’t have time to take on another show…hell, I have to sleep sometime. That being said, I have heard nothing but amazing things about 24, so this season I decided to record every episode and watch the whole season during the summer, when I had more time. Do you know how long I have been looking forward to my 24 marathon? I’ve even managed to avoid all spoilers for months on end.
So goodbye DVR. You’ve been good to me. Time for a fresh start with a brand new DVR tomorrow.
