Reality Shows Make Me Cry – So You Think You Can Dance Results Show

The following contains spoilers for the So You Think You Can Dance results show. Stop reading if you’ve TiVo’d the show.

What’s wrong with me? I am an emotional wreck because someone got kicked off a reality show? Seriously…seriously? Yup, I am. I guess this is what is going to be like from now on, seeing that I love ALL of the remaining contestants. Tonight’s elimination show had Natalie, Allison, Ryan, and Travis in the bottom four spots. Each one danced their final solo before Cat gave us the results.

First the girls…

Natalie and Allison have both been incredibly strong throughout the competition. Natalie has been a force to be reckoned with since day one, and Allison has proven herself to be the most versatile of all the dancers in the competition. But one had to leave, and in a move that left me speechless, Allison was the one to say goodbye. I’m so bummed. I really thought it was Nat’s turn to leave. It was really tough to see Allison try to hold it together and not cry, especially with Natalie crying a river (per usual), but it killed me to watch Ivan and Travis get so emotional. Did you see everyone consoling Travis right before Allison’s solo? Um, and sTravis’s presence and participation during Allison final performance was interesting. I thought for sure he was going to jump her right there on the stage. And then of course we would have seen Ivan and Travis throwdown Sharks/Jets style. Come to think of it…

Goodbye Allison…you will be missed.

Next up – the boys.

Although it was surprising to see Travis, and not Ivan, in the bottom 2 tonight, I wasn’t really stressed about this elimination. It was Ryan’s time and he knew it. Both Ryan and Travis performed amazing solos tonight, but it in the end it was Ryan who we said goodbye to.

As emotional as I was tonight, I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like next week when I have to say goodbye to Benji, Travis, or Ivan. And let’s face it…my little Jailbait Ivan is most likely going to be the one to go, so I’m going to try to start preparing myself now. For the girls, I think Heidi is going to be safe, and it’s going to be Natalie up against Donyelle for the final spot. I personally think Natalie is an overall better dancer than Donyelle, but it really all depends on how they are partnered up next week.

I’m going to need some time to get over Allison’s departure. I’ll see you at the Wang Center on October 7th girl….so until then!!!

Despite my dark mood, I found one thing that made me smile tonight. Check out this BEYOND ADORABLE picture of Benji and Cousin Heidi when they were just little kids. AW!

“Office” Thursdays on Give Me My Remote

You know how I love my Office-Thursdays! Well this week it’s that much better because I get to watch my favorite Dunder Mifflinites on my brand new, big screen, HDTV.

To properly honor my new TV, NBC had decided to air “Boys and Girls”, one of my favorite S2 eps. Oh happy day.

If you haven’t checked out The Office webisodes yet, head over to NBC.com right now!!! The 4th installment is up and this one features Stanley. I think it’s my favorite one to date. I love getting  my fix of my favorite comedy in these little bits during the summer months.

Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) has updated his blog over at TVGuide.com. He doesn’t spill the Jam goodness, but he does talk about being back on the set (thank god), and the TCAs. Here’s to hoping Brian has a bigger role in S3…you know he is one of my favorites. (Click here to read Brian’s blog)

Arrested Development is Back

In my THANK GOD news of the day, it was recently announced that Arrested Development has been picked up for syndication by, get this, MSN, HDNet, and G4. I have missed The Bluth’s and can’t wait to see them soon.

“We’re thrilled that this groundbreaking, critically-acclaimed show will find an entirely new audience through a variety of complementary platforms – from rich media, to hi-def TV to cable,” said Peter Levinsohn, President of Fox Digital Media. “This is the first time a series has been licensed to three platforms simultaneously, a testament to the explosion of the aftermarket for high-end content. We’re actively developing this exciting new arena with partners like MSN, HDNet and G4.”

Damn You Sleep…I Missed SYTYCD

Yup, you heard me. I fell asleep CRAZY early last night and I missed So You Think You Can Dance. I scoured YouTube.com and Veoh.com for last night’s performances but no luck. I am so bummed. Well, I do have the show waiting for me at home on TiVo, but still…that’s not good enough. Especially since I heard that Jailbait Ivan was all kinds of hot last night. Although I must admit, I am not looking forward to Benji and Cousin Heidi performing together. As amazing dancers as they are alone and together, there’s just something not right about cousins dancing like that. I’ve been dreading their pairing since Day One, and now it has happened.

Update: Ok, I just went home and watched last night’s show, and WOW WOW WOW!!! Benj and Cousin Heidi were simply amazing. Although I did say a few “ew”s during their 2nd dance.  Cousins shouldn’t touch like that, but they were incredible. But Ivan and Allison…yowza. Had you noticed that EVERY SINGLE choreographer has then almost kiss in every routine. Seriously, those two are scorching. Um, and did anyone notice that during the judging, Allison kissed Ivan’s neck? Yeah…that’s all I’m going to say….yeah.

Rodrigo Santoro Joins the Cast of “Lost”

It was announced earlier this week that Rodrigo Santoro will be joining the cast of Lost. Santoro, who has often been described as the Brazilian Tom Cruise (although we hope he isn’t that crazy) is best known in the states for his small, but important role as Laura Linney’s love interest in Love Actually. But some may also recognize Rodrigo from the the Baz Luhrman/Nicole Kidman, Chanel No. 5 commercials, or from Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

It looks like Sawyer and Jack have some new competition for the coveted “Hottest on the Island” award.

The Boys of Veronica Mars

One of the premiere Veronica Mars websites, NeptuneSite, was able to catch up with Veronica Mars stars Jason Dohring (Logan Echolls) and Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas) during last week’s Comic Con.Both guys seem really excited about Season 3. Really dude, it’s so cool, f-ing awesome, and did I mention really cool dude? Yeah, these are true California boys, and we do love them.

Steve Carell’s Hilarious TCA Acceptance Speech

I know I’ve been posting a ton about The Office lately, but hey…I’m smitten and I have my own TV blog so I can!! But whether or not you are a fan of the show, I dare you not to laugh when you listen to Steve Carell’s acceptance speech for this past week’s TCA Awards. 

As previously reported, Carell took home the award for Best Actor in a Comedy while The Office took home top honors for Best Comedy.  Carell has set a pretty high bar for himself when it comes to award speeches.  I can’t wait to hear what he’s going to say when he takes home his Emmy on August 27th…because he will, oh he will.

Rescue Me Recap (Karate)

Title: “Karate”
Original Airdate: July 25, 2006

Last time on Rescue Me: Maggie liked belligerent Sean, Tommy dallied with Angela and was roofied and raped by Sheila, Probie was on the verge of moving out of the firehouse–and his apartment. And much, much more!

At a fire site (with no fire in their immediate area), Lou and Tommy run into some buddies of theirs from another house. They chat and agree to have burgers after the job’s done. Lou and Tommy are still talking when suddenly a gas explosion knocks them down. As they make their way out of the smoke-filled building, they hear their friends are stuck in a fiery area. Probie manages to pull one of the buddies, unconscious, out of the fire (though he’s coughing up blood himself) and Lou saves the other. Phew.

Tommy knocks on Sheila’s door. Things are a little awkward – she hasn’t returned his calls. He tried to apologize for the other night (you know, the night she roofied and raped him?). She tells him he started crying, then started drinking, then grabbed a baseball bat, so she left. Tommy’s contrite and looking for advice about how to deal with his fall off the wagon, but Sheila isn’t particularly receptive. As he leaves, Tommy tells Sheila her ass looks great in those pants.

At a hockey game, Tommy’s on the ice, Sean and trash-talking Maggie are in the stands, and Lou’s at the snack bar, trying to drink himself into a stupor two beers at a time. Tommy hears from another player that Probie will be transferring to another house, and though he’s surprised, I’m not. They’ve been building up this storyline for weeks.

I’m BACK and I’ve Missed You

I go away for just a few days, and SO much happens in the TV world. There was Comic Con, the TCAs, show renewals, and ferris wheels. I missed out on all of it, and I feel like I let you guys down. Sorry. I just got home and I’ve done a decent job on getting caught up on my TiVo. I’ll be back later tonight with a quick round up of the important news events (along with some exclusive GMMR pics from Comic Con). Although I have to go back to the office tomorrow (ugh), I will be back in the swing of blogging. I promise.
