My Name is GMMR and I Love Kelly Clarkson - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

My Name is GMMR and I Love Kelly Clarkson

July 17, 2006 by

I’m 30 years old, and I will proudly admit that last night I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert. She was incredible. Her voice is amazing, and the show was a blast. My friends and I may have been the oldest people at the concert (oh wait, Ducky was there and he is older than me..and yes, he is going to KILL me for sharing that with you). It was a fabulous time, but I am a little wiped out today. It might be the combination of the booze, the ridiculous amounts of singing/dancing, and the HOURS it took to get out of the parking lot and to my house. God I am OLD!!!

Anyway, we had great seats…just 6 rows from the stage, and I even got a little high five from Ms. Clarkson herself when she came down the aisle during “Since U Been Gone”.

I know it’s a bit of a stretch to share this with you on a TV blog, but hey…where did Kelly Clarkson get her start?!

UPDATE: If you want a taste of what I saw last night, check out these video clips that were taken during the concert last night.

Kelly Clarkson, Addicted (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Miss Independent (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Gone (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Beautiful Disaster (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Walk Away (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Behind These Hazel Eyes (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)
Kelly Clarkson, Because of You (7/16 – Tweeter Center, Mansfield, MA)

OOOH! That’s awesome GMMR! I’m going to see her July 29. I can’t wait.

  2. Julie on July 17th, 2006 12:27 pm

Hehehe…we are the same! I will be going with a slightly-older male friend on August 3rd. Unfortunately my seats aren’t quite as rockin…but it should still be a good time!

  3. Sus on July 17th, 2006 12:31 pm

Now I don’t feel so bad about wanting to see her at the one here in my state. I don’t have tickets, but I’d still love to be able to go. 😉

  4. kelli on July 17th, 2006 12:58 pm

i was there too! it was amazing, she’s so good live. i thought it was going to be a bit lame, but i was wrong. “walk away” and “since u been gone” were probably the funnest i’ve ever had at a concert.

but it took forever to get out of the parking lot at the damn tweeter center.

  5. Mandy on July 17th, 2006 1:31 pm

I’m 30 too and I saw her last year. She was fantastic!!! Some people thought her concert was too short, but I thought it was perfect!!! She sang all my favorite songs. I’m glad you got to go!

  6. duckyxdale on July 17th, 2006 1:35 pm

How dare you out me? HAHA! Kidding. I too will gladly admit I’m a Kelly fan and that she is in fact My American Idol. It was a blast and here’s a tip to all those going to future concerts… PREMIERE PARKING sounds like a scam but I was out of the parking lot and home before GMMR even moved out of her parking space. SUCKA’S!!! You too Kelli (nice meeting you btw)…

  7. coloradokila on July 17th, 2006 3:31 pm

Older than you and LOVE her!!!!
But I am sucker for anyone with as good of a voice as that.
I remember holding back the tears when she won AI – she is just that good.

    So jealous of you!!

  8. Brian on July 17th, 2006 4:14 pm

I’m older, a guy and not even an Idol watcher, and I’ve got a half-dozen of her songs on my iPod. She’s really great. I bet she puts on a great concert. But booze + concert = me sleeping through the next day.

  9. Carli on July 17th, 2006 6:50 pm

I’m planning to go see her in August, one of her last dates. I’m making the fiancee come with me LOL But he likes her, so it’s all good. Seriously though, is there a celebrity cooler than her? She’s so down-to-earth and real. I LOVE her.

Quick note for anyone that hasn’t got tickets yet. I’ve gone to several concerts and I’ve noticed that the longer you wait to get tickets, the better the seats you can get. Like a week before the concert, radio stations and stuff will have too many tickets and you’re able to get good seats through ticketmaster. I actually got 2nd row dead center to a No Doubt/Blink 182 concert a few years ago!

  14. Leroy on July 18th, 2006 12:32 am

My name is Leroy and I must admit that I am a Kelly Clarkson fan. I’m 32 and I’m a bigger fan than my children. I blame this on my wife. She dragged me to one of Kelly’s concerts last year- and as they say, the rest is history.

  15. Andrea on July 18th, 2006 3:12 am

I’m 34, and I find fans of hers span all ages. It is always refreshing to hear from someone close to my age though praising her. Makes me feel a little less crazy for being such a big KC fan. I have been a fan of other artists in the past, but Kelly has this way of evolving and constantly showing new sides of herself, yet staying the same sweet, relatable person. And her talent is jaw dropping. I will be seeing her this tour in Dallas at Smirnoff. This will be my 3rd time seeing her live, and I am truly “Addicted”!

  16. MrsData on July 18th, 2006 10:27 am

GMMR, there’s nothing with being a Kelly fan! She has a diverse group of fans which is why she is so succesful. To me, she is the true American Idol.

Although I would be concerned if you were a fan of a certain hotel heiress’s “music”.

  17. duckyxdale on July 18th, 2006 10:42 am

MrsData, what do you think GMMR listened to in the car while stuck in the parking lot for 2 hours? You know it was Paris!

  18. cc on July 18th, 2006 3:06 pm

I’m 45 and I love Kelly. Rene mentioned Kelly Clarkson Express. There’s quite a lot of us 30- and 40- somethings there. It’s a great Kelly fan site with great members from ages 13 to 60+.

Ha ha. I’m not recruiting for members. Although I’m a lot older than most of you, I’m just really excited to know that Kelly indeed has a lot of more mature fans. Here’s the url, if you decide to visit:

Heres how you can evade common mistakes of replacing windows: . It all depends on how good you are at knowing what is more effective. Install replacement windows with interlocking upper and lower sashes, because this type of replacement window offers the best energy efficiency.
