Project Runway Recap

The models ruled the runway last night, both on the catwalk and away from it. In a little Project Runway twist, it was the models that chose the designer they most wanted to work with. The control freak designers didn’t like that one little bit. How dare it not be all about them. Hmph!!

The challenge was to design an updated look for a fashion icon. Thankfully the fashion icons they were referring to were the likes of Jackie O, Marilyn, & Twiggy (among others), and NOT Nicky Hilton. Once again the models were in control as they battled to grab the fashion icon from a group of pictures. Elbows were flying, weaves were pulled, stilletos became weapons – these models know how to throw down. In the end, almost all the designers were happy with their chosen icon.

As the designers were making it work, we had a few scuttlebuts. It seems that Angela doesn’t know how to work a sewing machine, and breaks it just before someone else needs it. Jeffrey, in particular, is not happy and let’s her and everyone else know it. He also hates Laura, but from what I hear so did all the other designers.

We had some really striking designs from Michael (Pam Grier), Angela (Audrey Hepburn) & Kayne (Marilyn Munroe). We also had some really bad designs from Robert (Jackie O…seriously, this one should have been a walk in the park), Bradley (Cher…he didn’t even know who she was. Excuse me?) and Vincent (Twiggy…I swear they keep him around because they think he’s going to have another nervous breakdown).

Michael Kors was back! And thankfully Vera “I’m desperate for eye makeup” Wang was out.

In the end it was Michael’s hot hot pants that took home the win. Bradley and his hideous outfit (probably the worst in Project Runway history) was out. Bradley was starting to freak me out, so I’m glad he’s gone. Now if we can only get rid of Vincent, hmmm.
