“The Office” Wins Best Comedy!!!!

I’m on the West Coast and haven’t been able to see a single moment of the Emmys yet, but I just heard that The Office just won the Emmy for Best Comedy. YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! This just made up for Steve Carell’s Emmy loss. I know my coverage of the Emmys is sucking right now. Being on the West Coast for tonight’s ceremony didn’t work out as I hoped. But who cares….THE OFFICE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m heading home tomorrow, and I will be back in full force Tuesday afternoon!!!

OH MY GOD I was shrieking like you wouldn’t believe. OH MY GOD! It was perfect, I still can’t form a coherant sentence.

It was awesome too see. They deserved it so much!!!! I felt so bad for Agent Michael Scarn, he desevered the Emmy a lot more…
And, I was screaming so hard, and then when I noticed how hot John looked-I practically died… he was wicked hottt (3 t’s)

YAY! Our beloved show won! With the way the show went before I was thinking that Two and half men would win lol THANK GOD!
I am so happy! It looked like almost everyone from the cast was there (gotta review the DVR later)! Sorry we east coast folks ruined the surprise, but hey, you’d hear us screaming even without the internet!
YAY!!! So happy that The Office won, though it’s disappointing that Steve didn’t. Still, ended up a good night – I love this show so much and am happy that the whole cast and crew at least got the win.
Also happy that 24 and Kiefer won, as well as Jeremy Piven. A few disappointments (esp. Steve) but still some good wins.
Looking forward to reading Kristin’s (from E!) scoop during the chat tomorrow!
(BTW – did you all see Went and Jim in their tuxes??? 🙂 Only caught a glimpse of TR Knight, too, but my 3 faves all looked good tonight!)
Yay! I was completely frightened right as the envelope was being opened, thinking that nothing good would come of it, but I am very very happy. It goes without saying that my hopes for a posthumous Arrested Development lovefest were dashed, but if any other show deserved the Emmy tonight, it had to be the one that helped fill the void left by AD.

Anyone found pics of TR Knight? 🙂 Saw some pics of Wentworth with a date! Read that she might be an old friend of his, but who knows? And I saw J Kras and the cast of the Office on the E! aftershow – they were so excited and I’m so happy for all of them.
The Emmys were “interesting” this year – loved Conan, loved The Office winning. Hopefully next year we’ll be happier with more of the winners. Though personally, the last few awards turned out right….
Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert deserved to win, but go the office, they deserve it. I was so excited that they won, i was afraid they wouldn’t with the way the awards were going.

I agree: the Emmys were becoming slightly disappointing and i kept thinking, “The Office deserves it (along w/ AD) but they’re not going to win” and they DID! So exciting!
Although, i was extremely pissed that Carrell lost against….Monk. Sorry all you Monk fans, but please. Tony S. from Monk?! Oh, and sorry to all you Piven fans, but i still think that Will Arnett deserved that award hands down.
But i am also super happy that Kiefer and 24 won some awards! Woot! I was going to be happy if either House or 24 won for best drama, so yay!
Oh…and i still think Michael Schur should have won for writing the Christmas Party ep….boy, i’m just a plethora of mixed feelings, huh? Yay, The Office! ^_^
Oh, quick note: wasn’t that beginning just awesome?! When Conan fell through the ceiling into the office, and even had his own talking head?! I laughed my pants off! So awesome! Even the House and 24 bit cracked me up!
Does every actor from the OFFICE get a statue? how exactly does that work? (no seriously, I’m actually curious about this)
Well, everyone’s statuette (even the individual winners) has no engraving on it. I know, it’s weird. Anyway, I think that the company sends you an engraved plate to place on it. It’s actually de-attachable, you screw off the bottom and replace it with the engraved plate, I believe. I think one of Emmy winners explained to the E! News anchors.
The principle cast does get an Emmy. When “The Nanny” won a few years ago, the whole cast each received an Emmy. I remember this because Nicole Tom was on “Celebrities homes” and she had her Emmy on her mantle, even though she’s never been nominated herself.
Besides, the Emmys aren’t as cheap as the Oscars lol

I’m so freaking excited that they won!!! I was pretty disappointed when Steve lost, but the show winning made up for it. Everyone looked awesome up on stage.
I thought Jenna said in her myspace blog that if the show wins, then only the producers get Emmys. She could have been mistaken though. I’m just so happy for all of them!!
wooooo! basically my feelings about the Emmys are the same as everyone else’s, except I must add that I was really disappointed in Bleak House not winning Best Miniseries or whatever it’s called. and yes, the entire cast of The Office looked fabulous, but (and I know I’ll catch hell for this one) I have to say that John’s hair…not so great. I love the shaggy Jim look and I think he ought to keep it that way always. holy crap, Mindy’s dress was amazing.
