Goodbye and Thank You WB
September 17, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Just got back from my weekend away so I’m sorry for posting this so late, but just a reminder that today we are saying goodbye to The WB. The network that brought us Felicity, Buffy, Dawson’s, Everwood and countless other fan favorites is signing off.
To commemorate the event, The WB is airing the pilot episodes of their most classic shows (well at least the ones that have previously been shelved). Say goodbye by remembering the best that The WB had to offer. I just caught the last of Felicity and was once again reminded by the genius of JJ Abrams….ah, we knew you when sir. I’m settled in for the rest of the evening to watch the rest of the farewell.
Angel – 6/5c
Buffy the Vampire Slayer – 7/6c
Dawson’s Creek – 9/8c
Guess, it’s time to get ready for the all new CW. If you aren’t sure if you have The CW in your area, drop me a line and I’ll see if I can find out for you.

I don’t care for the CW much. They axed my Everwood. lol. And brought 7th Heaven back. Double don’t care for the CW. But I’d love to see the pilot of Dawson’s Creek again, for the millionth time. (p.s.-4 DAYS UNTIL THE OFFICE!!!!!! I found some spoilers today that I both liked, and disliked….won’t mention them since that’d be mean to any unspoiled people that may see this).. 😉
If only Everwood were popular enough (and had the cult status of defining the WB) for them to reair the pilot episode. Of all those four shows, I think Dawson’s had the most defining pilot episode. All the rest — I think they found their ground in their subsequent seasons. I can think of better (or more defining) episodes of Angel and Felicity and Buffy than their pilots. But I can see where they’re going with the whole showing of the pilots. A tribute to the beginning, looking from the end.
I wish I’d gotten into Felicity when it was on. I’m loving it now (about to start the 3rd season) but I think it would have helped to shape my college years.
Bring on the CW! Gilmore Girls and VM, show me the money.
As someone who had never seen Felicity before last night, well, I’m just assuming that she gets less creepy as the show goes on.
Hah! Yes, I think she does get a bit less creepy and stalkery as the show goes on, Liz.
I didn’t end up watching the shows yesterday (too much work), but I’m a bit bummed since I hear they aired some old-school WB promos. Drat!
Yeah, there was a great promo series that had James Vanderwhatever and Scott Foley driving down a road talking to each other. I bet it’s up on You Tube before too long…
