NBC Must See TV Thursday is BACK!!!!
October 25, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Woo Hoo!!!! OMG this is the best news I have heard all week!!! NBC Thursday nights are BACK and better than ever. Starting on November 30th, NBC will bring all of its best comedies together for an incredible night of television.
The Emmy Award-nominated “Scrubs” and move freshman comedy “30 Rock” will moveto Thursday nights to form a new two-hour 8-10 p.m. (ET) comedy block with “My Name Is Earl” and “The Office.” The change will follow a special super-sized night of comedy two weeks earlier on Thursday, November 16, with three 40-minute episodes of “My Name Is Earl,” “The Office” and “30 Rock.”
“We are excited about the prospect of two-hours of top-notch comedy on Thursday nights, which includes the return of ‘Scrubs,'” said Reilly. “We will stay on-brand with the best comedy block on television, which will position us for the future on the night.”
Beginning November 30, NBC’s Thursday-night lineup will be “My Name Is Earl” (8-8:30 p.m. ET); “The Office” (8:30-9 p.m. ET); “Scrubs” (9-9:30 p.m. ET); and “30 Rock” (9:30-10 p.m. ET). “ER” will continue at 10-11 p.m. (ET).
Good work NBC…good work!! And a supersized ep of The Office…and we didn’t even start a petition!!

This is very good! Thank you, NBC!
That must have been Brian’s announcement 🙂
and…just thought of it. this will be the episode following “Branch Closing” which means……
the reunion of JAM most likely 🙂
Wow! Excellent news, thanks for sharing!
just think..some executive finally sat down and said “hmm it’s not working. what did we do the last time it worked?” now, if only someone had thought about that when Seinfeld went off the air and the Friends end was in sight…
The only thing that could make this press release sweeter would be an announcement that NBC has agreed to never, ever, ever, air “The Apprentice” again. Ever.
Now THAT, folks, would be something to celebrate.
BEST – News – EVER! SCRUBS COMING BACK!!!!!
The syndication of Scrubs had almost placated me, what with four episodes a night to satisfy my hunger for our beloved Sacred Heart staff. WOO-HOO!
Squee! We’re so glad you hooked up with NA and Office Tally to supersize Casino Night. Look what you started!
This is awesome (with extra awesome) news!! I mean, Scrubs will totally get spanked against Grey’s Anatomy BUT at least it’s coming back! And yay for a super-sized Office!! Just think, we didn’t even need a petition this time 🙂
Thank goodness they didn’t move Office to the 9-10pm slots. I don’t know what I would have done…I would have had to pick a show not to watch. This is great news. CAN’T WAIT for the supersized ep.
I think may be in honor of GMMR’s anniversary….
I’m really excited that I can now watch my two favorite shows (Office and Scrubs) right in a row.
The ratings for Scrubs in that timeslot will suck of course. The paranoid in me worries that NBC (which, since the show is made by Touchstone which is owned by Disney, does not profit off the DVDs or syndication of Scrubs, and so has treated the show badly) would like to be able to say that ratings suck and cancel it. The optimist in me, however, hopes that because Scrubs has such a die-hard (albeit not huge) fanbase, the show should have nearly as good of ratings as before.
yeehaw!
I am SO happy about this, especially for Scrubs because that show is under-appreciated at NBC! And a Super-Sized Office! What a day! 🙂
I think my emotions are best summed up in word:
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
This is such awesome news, especially since I’m not one of those fortunate people with syndie Scrubs episodes.
Wow, that’s awesome. I wish Scrubs wasn’t up against CSI, though. Bummer.
Hallelujah and pass the remote!!
I still wish they’d put The Office on at 9 instead of 8:30, but at least it’s one night free of reality TV!! 😀
