Mascot Featured in People Magazine
December 8, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Remember how excited I was a few weeks back when I got to talk to John Krasinski? Well today I have something almost as exciting to share – at least for me personally. One of my very best friends, Stephanie, along with her business partner Jeff, created a line of unique dog accessories called Mascot and today Mascot is a featured item within the Stylewatch section of People.com
Want to make your dog stand out in a crowd? For those of us who take our pups to dog runs, it’s not just a style statement, it’s the best way to track them in the pack! These bright, colorful Sailors Knot collars, $36 (and matching leashes, $42) from Mascot fit the bill — and could the bone-shaped buckle be cuter? And if you aren’t just gifting your own pooch, consider adding in one of their Varsity sweaters, $60, for a complete and coordinated gift for the dog-lover in your life.
Mascot’s leads, collars, tags, etc have been flying off the shelves in boutiques across the country. Mascot has been featured in magazines such Redbook and even a few celebs pups are sporting the latest in Mascot fashion.
I’ve never been much of a dog person myself, although I am quite smitten with Steph’s dog…my little doggie niece Riley. But if you want your dog to be a fashionista, you should definitely check out Mascot.
Let’s all give a GMMR round of applause to Steph & Jeff!!

Impressive. That stuff looks really cute. I will check it out.
GMMR – Is Riley a Shitsu? He looks a lot like my Shitsu Kramer (named for the Seinfeld character). My dog is the same color except for a little more black around the beard.
Thank you for the tip, I will check out your friend’s site. I need to get Kramer a new ID tag. We moved a while ago and his still has our old address.
Congrats to your friends on the People.com feature. But is this really as exciting to you as talking to John Krasinski??
Yeah, Riley is a shitzu-poodle mix. You don’t know how many times I have been “babysitting” her and people ask me what kind of dog she is and I am clueless.
And as much as I love Steph and her success, NO WAY is this better than me talking to J Kras!!
I didn’t think so. 🙂
Rock ON, Steph and Jeff! That’s excellent. I wish them and their mascots (cute!) all kinds of success. 🙂
My dog is named Riley! Except he’s 78 pounds and a shepherd/lab mix. And he’s not real fashionable.
That is awesome!! As the owner of two dogs, they will definitely be getting my business!
