NBC Gives a Little for the Holidays
December 20, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Thanks to the Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan for alerting me to a little Christmas joy coming via NBC.com. First, NBC has announced that every episode of their critically acclaimed hit Friday Night Lights will be available for free on NBC.com. I had to take FNL out of my weekly viewing schedule when I decided that I had to make sleep a priority. Both Friday Night Lights and Heroes (I know, I know) are on my ‘To Do’ list for the week I have off between Christmas and New Years. I’m glad that I don’t have to blow that iTunes gft card on the eps. Thanks NBC.Watch the full season of Friday Night Lights

More importantly, NBC.com is offering a free download of “O Holy Night” as performed by New Orleans musicians on the Christmas episode of Studio 60. It was a moving moment, perhaps the best moment of Studio 60 so far. The song (which I just listened to about 4 times in a row) is simply beautiful. The musicians featured benefit from The Tipitina’s Foundation, an organization aimed at rebuilding the music culture of New Orleans.

GMMR – thanks for letting everyone know that they can catch past eps of Friday Night Lights online. I hope you love this show as much as I love it now – it’s now my new favorite show! I also had a hard time catching this show when it first started with all the TV shows I was already watching, but I started watching the weekly episodes on NBC.com and I fell in love with it. I absolutely love Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton together. Also, Matt and Julie are my new favorite couple on TV (but JAM will always be #1 of course 😉 )…. everyone has to start watching this show so it will stay on the air past this season!
Friday Night Lights is really good. I hope you like it GMMR. It’s my favorite behind The Office. Matt and Julie are adorable and Coach and Tami are such a fun/realistic married couple. I agree with mg714 that more people need to watch. I’m afraid it’s going to be one of those cancelled too soon shows like My So Called Life and Freeks and Geeks.
I forgot to add that Bravo is having a Friday Night Lights marathon on Sat. 12/30 from 9 am to 6 pm.
I still don’t get why FNL is not on Friday.
I agree with everyone about Friday Night Lights. I really like the show and was wondering why you never mentioned it. Nice to hear that you’re going to watch it. I’m pretty sure that it will suck you in. 😉
