Sad news to pass along tonight. A sport utility vehicle carrying Lane Garrison (David “Tweener” Apolskis) of Prison Break and three teenagers struck a tree, killing a 17-year-old boy on Saturday night.
Two 15-year-old girls inside the vehicle were also injured, one critically, police said. Garrison, 26, had minor injuries.
The vehicle jumped a curb and hit a tree. Authorities were trying to determine who drove the SUV, which was registered to Garrison.
The boy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he died. His name was not released. The conditions of the girls were not immediately released.

Hey GMMRers…
For the past few weeks you might have noticed little icons at the end of each of the posts on GiveMeMyRemote.com. It just occurred to me that you might not know what they are all about. All those icons are ‘social bookmarks’. Social bookmarking allows you to save, catalog and SHARE posts from GMMR with others.
If you a regular visitor to this site and want to help me to spread the word, THIS is how you can help.
(1) Click on each icon below and register for an account (it takes just a second and you won’t be getting any unsolicited emails or anything like that)
(2) Once you have an account you can share specific GMMR posts with others by clicking on the icons at the end of each post. (Share the posts you think other non-GMMRers might like)
(3) If another GMMRer beat you to it, you can help by bumping up the GMMR posts already on the site.
If you wouldn’t mind keeping this in mind when you visit GMMR, it will really be a HUGE help to me. And if you have any questions, just leave a comment at the end of this post.
Clay Aiken Needs Voice Lessons

I’m not sure what song is most appropriate for the accompanying video. It’s a toss up between: “You had a bad day…” and “when it’s time to change, it’s time to rearrange…“. Either way, Clay Aiken was not his usual stellar self during a recent performance in Chicago. The song starts off ok, but then deteriorates to the point that my ears started to bleed (around the 3:30 minute mark). People actually started laughing, and I don’t think that’s what Clay was going for. Although I wouldn’t classify myself as a Claymate, I’ve always LOVED his voice. I’m sure he just needs a bit of a vocal break. Someone should put his hand over Clay’s mouth so he can’t talk. Just a thought.

I’ve been completely focused on all things American Idol-esque lately. Aiken, Chris Daughtry’s new album…I can’t wait for the show to start!!
More from Leona Lewis (The X Factor)

The X Factor’s Leona Lewis continues to blow me away with her voice. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen someone new emerge with a talent like hers. Since we obviously can’t get The X Factor here in the U.S., I thought I would share a few more of Leona’s amazing performances.
For those of you who said in my last Leona Lewis post that she didn’t have much personality, I say this – who cares? Don’t watch the video – just listen to her sing. I’m not saying that I disagree. I think she could use a little polishing, and that will come in time. She reminds me a little of early Mariah. Remember when Mariah tortured us by making us watch her “dance” in those early music videos? Yikes. Leona’s “Lady Marmalade” performance is a little like that, so I suggest you just listen and don’t watch – trust me.
The only downside of Leona’s talent is that I think those of us who watch American Idol are going to be tortured by the constant Leona comparisons from Simon all season long. I predict at least 3 or 4 comparisons during the audition phase alone, and then a few more when we get down to the final female contestants. What do you think? And more importantly, can you believe that American Idol will be back next month? Woo hoo!!

Re: An Important Lesson
Dear favorite TV non-couples,
You have all wasted months (and some even years) playing this will they/won’t they game with your love lives. The misunderstandings, hurt feelings, stubbornness and failure to take action has left you scarred and afraid of love. To that end I ask – no demand – that you take the time to watch this week’s episode of Battlestar Galactica. You might learn a thing or two from Starbuck and Apollo about dealing with pent up sexual frustration in a real and honest manner. As an added bonus for the ladies, Lee is shirtless and sweaty most of the episode – and if that doesn’t spur you to want to jump your man, I don’t know what will.
Hope to see you in happy coupledom soon.
Sincerely,
GMMR
P.S. Logan, if you choose to follow the way of Lee and Kara, please be careful. Veronica could probably kick your ass.
P.S.S. GMMR doesn’t condone violence of any kind (unless of course it will bring you that much close to smooching – then I’m all for it.)
Title: “Unfinished Business”
Original Airdate: 12/1/06
Previously, half of the Galactica crew moved to New Caprica while the other half stayed. There once was a romance between Apollo and Self Destruct Starbuck so naturally they ran off and married other folks. Then Starbuck told Anders to leave.
41,422. This episode cuts a million times between Galactica and New Caprica, so for clarity I’m going to break it down by plot line. The point of the episode is Adama arranged a boxing tournament for the crew to get out their frustrations, so while they fight, they flashback to the memories that are eating them up inside.
30 Rock Recap: “Jack Meets Denis”

Title: “Jack Meets Dennis”
Original Airdate: Nov. 30, 2006
Maybe its Must-See-TV jitters or Tracey Morgan’s recent legal troubles but my third favorite show opted for character development over big laughs this week. It’s hard to complain, though, when it’s Tina Fey’s character that gets developed.
Liz (Fey) is back with her old boyfriend Dennis (Dean Winters). Actually, it’s the new and improved Dennis. Losing Liz last year changed him, made him more mature. Nothing says mature like goodbye noogies and a headlock.
A true friend, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) does not approve of the Beeper King. (What’s a beeper, anyway?) Then again, she sent a letter to Scott Peterson. But she knows Dennis is no good for Liz. Dennis, we learn, remembered Liz’s birthday when everyone else forgot. That seems to say more about Liz and her choice of friends than anything else.
Meanwhile, Tracey (Morgan) is up in arms over not-so-bad press. This is not to be confused with Morgan’s bad press, by the way. Normal’s bad for the career. Besides, no one who steals dogs or does the robot backward into doorways could be normal, right? Jenna, meanwhile, fears her age may hurt her job security, and Jack (Alec Baldwin) only exacerbates her fears.
John Krasinski & George Clooney to Share Big Screen in “Leatherheads”
December 1, 2006 by Kath Skerry
Filed under John Krasinski, Leatherheads, TV News
John Krasinski is in negotiations to star alongside George Clooney and…oh screw it, do you really need to know anymore? Krasinski and Clooney in the same film? It’s almost too good to be true. But it isn’t. If all involved can work out the details, our boy John will be taking yet another step toward total world Hollywood domination. Well deserved if you ask me. But then again, I guess I am biased.
So here’s what The Hollywood Reporter is saying about “Leatherheads”
John Krasinski, one of the breakout stars of NBC’s “The Office,” is in negotiations to star alongside George Clooney and Renee Zellweger in Universal Pictures’ “Leatherheads,” a 1920s football romantic comedy that Clooney is directing.
Written by Steven Schiff and Clooney, the story centers on team owner Jimmy “Dodge” Connelly (Clooney), who hires straight-laced college football sensation Carter Rutherford (to be played by Krasinski) to play professionally. The scandalous sport becomes popular and commercialized, and confirmed bachelor Dodge falls for Carter’s reluctant fiancee, Lexi (Zellweger).
One point still being ironed out is how to make the movie — slated for a spring shoot — fit in to Krasinski’s schedule, which has him making the Emmy-winning NBC comedy until March. Considering that “The Office” is an NBC Universal TV production, sources said the two sides are working together to find a solution to production timing issues.

This isn’t a done deal yet, as negotiations are still underway. But I’m sure this can be worked out. Just as long as John Krasinski’s role as Jim Halpert isn’t affected by the film, I’m all for it. And you gotta figure that if Clooney’s going to put John Krasinski in this one, “Ocean’s 14” is the next logical step, no?
GMMR’s Thursday Night Redux

Thursday night television is becoming an Olympic event. It takes a real expert to navigate that remote control to effectively get in the most TV possible. With so much going on, I can’s possibly watch EVERY show that I want on Thursday. There are a few shows that I have to TiNo until the weekend. TiNo you say? Yes TiNo – it’s the new term for when you TiVo a show knowing you aren’t going to watch it until later. (Example: I’ve TiNo’d the past four episodes of Heroes so I can have a Heroes marathon this weekend.)
So in what might get the award for GMMR’s longest post, let’s talk about the shows I manged to watch (and didn’t watch) last night:
My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, Scrubs, The OC, Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy & The Office
My Name is Earl (TiNo) – I’m going to admit that I am only a casual watcher of Earl. Since I am running a live Office chat that starts at 8pm, I always have Earl in the background, but I’m not actively watching it. I always try to pay attention when I see Joy come on the screen, because Jamie Pressley is so damn funny. She is so perfect in that role, I can’t imagine anyone else. Oh, and did anyone else notice the little hint at the end with Joy and Crabman. Looks like Joy isn’t on the old birth control….maybe they will be writing in Jamie’s real life pregnancy after all.
30 Rock (TiNo) – The tide has turned on this show. While most were panning it at the beginning, it seems that 30 Rock has steadily improved week after week. I wasn’t sold on it from the beginning so every week I TiNo it and plan to watch it on the weekends. But most of the time I delete them before watching. Should I be watching this one? Are you all liking it? Let me know what you think.
(My take on SCRUBS, UGLY BETTY, GREY’S ANATOMY, THE OC, and THE OFFICE after the jump!!!)
