…WOW! I forgot that Jamie Pressley of MNiE is pregnant. She’s huge but she is looking gorgeous!!
…YES!!! The VERY first John Krasinski sighting of the night. Let’s hope that Ryan actually talks to him tonight.
…Josh Jackson is there. Holy lord this makes for a great night!!! And his girlfriend, Diane Kruger looks gorgeous.
…Not loving Kate Walsh’s dress. It’s not the best color on her.
…Becki Newton (Amanda from Ugly Betty) is looking stunning in red.

2nd Generation GMMRer!!

A crazy huge CONGRATS goes out from all of us here at GMMR to Brian (our resident 30 Rock recapper) and his wife on the birth of their son Kevin Anthony. Kevin was born on Jan 17th at 5:48pm* and weighed in at 8lbs 11oz. Mom and Dad are working hard to keep up with the little one, but they are all doing great. I’ve seen a pic of Baby Kevin and he is too cute for words (and believe me, I don’t say that about all babies).
So again, congratulations Brian…we hope you have the little one addicted to TV soon enough.
* How much do I love that Brian pointed out that his son was born just 2-1/2 hours before The Office…LOVE IT!!
Friday Night Lights Needs You

I am the Lyla Garrity for Team FNL. Now if you don’t know that that statement means I’m head cheerleader for Friday Night Lights, then you clearly haven’t been watching the show. And why not? Don’t you trust me? Don’t you trust that I wouldn’t lead you astray? Friday Night Lights is SO worth your time. You have to start watching. Do you want me to beg?
Listen, I know you have a lot going on, and some of you even have lives, but Friday Night Lights can’t afford to be added to the list of shows you are going to catch up on this summer or on DVD. If you don’t start watching now there won’t be a reason to catch up on the show because there won’t be a second season.
Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune recently posted a column entitled “So how do you get people to watch Friday Night Lights?” I think at this point in time, it’s got to be word of mouth. NBC has promoted the show and it’s clearly getting the critical acclaim it deserves, but now it just needs more eyeballs (preferablly Neilsen eyeballs).
So how do we get more people watching? As Mo Ryan says, “NBC must find a way to convince potential viewers that the show is about much more than football (and some weeks – go figure – there’s no football at all).” True. Football is the backdrop but the focus are the people whose lives are brought together by football. But I think there is still the conception (especially among women) that all the drama is on the field which ironically enough is the opposite of how it goes. So how do we get more of the ladies watching. Ryan has a fantastic suggestion:
Posters of Tim Riggins all across America. Riggins, a star player (played by Taylor Kitsch) on the show’s fictional Dillon Panther football squad, is a combustible mixture of party boy, rebel and sensitive yearner (the fact that he’s yearning for his disabled best friend’s girl makes things all the more bittersweet)
And ladies, Tim Riggins isn’t the only eye candy. We’ve got Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler), Jason Street (Scott Porter), Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) and a few others. And boys, don’t think I forgot about you…FNL boasts some of the prettiest little ladies in all of TV. There’s Tami Taylor (Connie Britton), Julie Taylor (Aimee Teegarden), Lyla Garrity (Minka Kelly) and Tyra Collette (Adrienne Palicki).
But it’s not about how pretty the people are. It’s about how wonderful the writing and the acting are. It’s about the stories that are being told in a way that is different than anything else on TV today. Please, don’t let Friday Night Lights be the show you wish you had watched when it was on. Watch it every Wednesday night at 8pm on NBC.

The Office’s Phyllis Gets Married

The following contains spoilers for upcoming episodes of The Office. Proceed with caution.
The first pics from The Office’s Phyllis Lapin’s upcoming wedding to Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration have been posted over at JustJared.com. We are cordinally all invited to the wedding when it airs on February 8th at 8:30pm EST. Check them out here (or click on the image below).
Ok, now on to the important stuff…
> Jim looks beyond hot, but that really goes without saying
> Pam looks beautiful in her brown dress. It reminds me of another dress we once saw her in, no?
> Is it me or does Angela look 16 years old in that picture?
> Kelly Kapoor is looking HOTTER than we have even seen her. I love the short hair!
> Pam is NOT sitting with Roy (or Jim) during the ceremony. Let’s hope Jam are at least close enough to share googly eyes (yes it’s a cliche, but I’ll take it). My eyes spy that Dwight is sitting in row 9 on the left hand side of the church, and Pam seems to be sitting in Row 9 on the right side of the church. Why aren’t they all sitting on the bride’s side? Either way, Jim and Pam may be one row away…that’s got to be a good thing. Ugh, or maybe not as it seems Karen is sitting next to Jim. Come on already…Karen?! Really?
> Oh and who is sitting next to Pam’s ex-fiance? Anglea…oh snap, you think Angie is going to her flirt on?
> Who is sitting next to Jim? It’s really hard to say, but check out the pic of Kelly & Ryan, and there seems to be a woman sitting in front of Ryan. I’m stretching here, but could it be Karen?
> And Phyllis looks so gorgeous and happy. Be good to her Bob Vance.
Michael Vartan Back on TV?

In the best news that has come my way today, Alias star and former love of my life, Michael Vartan, will be headlining a yet to be titled ABC drama about a group of friends who are all high powered CEOs. Vartan will play the new CEO of a large corporation who is described as the moral center of the show. Hey ABC…if you pick up this show, I promise to cover it on GMMR (even if it blows).
The Sarah Silverman Program

Sarah Silverman…what is there to say about Sarah Silverman? She’s a unique soul, I’ll give her that much. She’s one of the crudest, most vulgar, unapologetic comedians I’ve ever encountered, and I secretly love her.
Now Sarah has a new show on Comedy Central and it looks to be more of the same brash and sometimes bizarre behavior that has made Sarah what she is today (and all this time you thought she was just Jimmy Kimmel’s girlfriend).
The Sarah Silverman Program, which premieres on Thursday, Feb. 1st at 10:30pm EST, steps into the incredible world of Sarah Silverman as she goes about her life, which on any given day, can include taking in a homeless man, exploring her sexuality or encouraging a young girl to enter a pageant in order to fulfill her own childhood dreams.
Sarah plays a character named Sarah Silverman whose absurd daily life is told through an array of scripted scenes and song. In each episode, Sarah manages to fall into unique, sometimes unsettling and always hilarious predicaments, with her sister (played by real-life sister Laura Silverman), her geeky gay neighbors, Brian and Steve (Brian Posehn and Steve Agee) and Officer Jay (Jay Johnston) never far from her side.
Sarah Silverman isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, and her comedy is certainly not for kids, but I think this little missy is sassy, and you gotta love a girl with sass.

P.S. Did you notice the little tease about Phyllis’s wedding? Is it wrong that I am getting SUPER excited that they are going to be issuing ecards and photos from that episode? I wonder if something BIG happens…besides the marriage of Phyllis and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration.

Although we don’t get a new episode of The Office this week, we get the next bext thing…3 repeats. Yes, NBC is showing the love by airing the show multiple times tonight. Since there isn’t a new ep, we won’t be having our live ‘Office’ chat over at BuddyTV. Sorry. But don’t fret, because we will be chatting it up next week, and I can’t wait!!
There’s not a ton of Office gossip this week, but what I have is yours.
UPDATE: Mo Ryan’s got some scoop (and some minor spoilers) straight from Andy & Jan (Check it out)
Triple Decker of The Office…
“The Coup” (8:30 pm EST)
After Jan busts Michael for holding ‘Movie Monday’, Angela pushes Dwight into making a play for Michael’s job. Meanwhile, Pam internet shops and has a fashion show…fashion show…fashion show at lunch. In Stamford, Jim plays video games and gets killed in virtual reality. (Episode Highlight)
“Grief Counseling” (10:00 pm EST)
After learning that the former regional manager has tragically died (his capa was detated from his head), Michael attempts to compel an appropriate show of grief from the Dunder Mifflin staff as he searches for the right way to honor a company man. Roy helps Pam duck out of the session. And in the Stamford office, Jim and Karen go on a hunt for snacks. (Episode Highlight)
“Initiation” (10:30 pm EST)
Ryan goes out on his first sales call, but is taken aback by the odd series of challenges that Dwight puts before him along the way, including a sidetrip to the Schrute family beet farm (FEAR). Back at the office, Pam keeps a log of Michael’s activities, while trying to help him be productive. Jim & Pam talk for the first time since Casino Night. (Episode Highlight)
From the Desk of Kate Flannery…
Check out Kate’s latest TV Guide blog for more on the craziness that is awards season, the incredible ratings news about The Office, and why she and some of the other Dunder Mifflin gals were feeling like The Golden Girls while shooting an upcoming episode. (Kate’s TV Guide Blog) Trivia: Did you know that the character of Dorothy (Bea Arthur) on The Golden Girls got her last name from Office producer Kent Zbornak? True.
