Heroes Recap: Unexpected

Somewhere in the Nevada desert, Radioactive Ted gets an IM from “Wireless”. Except there’s no wifi for miles. Wireless, really named Hana, stands behind him and she knows what happened to them by HRG and Primatech. She wants to team up with Ted to find the people responsible for tagging them like animals and nuke them. Ted visits his wife’s grave to say goodbye and kills all the grass.

Claire’s mom doesn’t recognize or her little dog too. Claire flips and grabs her brother, but suddenly her mom knows her again. Meanwhile, Mr. Bennett is in New York at Isaac’s studio. Isaac thinks Peter is the bomb and wants HRG’s help in stopping him. I miss scruffy (but not junkie) Isaac. HRG gives him a gun for when Peter shows up. Later, Isaac lies to Simone, hoping that she’ll spill the beans on Peter’s whereabouts, but she sees right through him.

Simone confronts Nathan about Peter’s location, but Nathan doesn’t seem to mind him being missing. Nathan gives a shout out to Lost, telling Simone that if people find out about the heroes then they’ll “round us up and stick us in a lab on an island.”

Matt struggles with his conscience over the diamonds, but not so much that he had one of the bigger ones made into a niice ring for her. Janice tells him that Mohinder called and Matt freaks. Oh Matt, if only you knew about Mohinder’s partner the brain sucker. Janice tried to have her ring resized, but the jeweler informed her of its worth. Matt admits to taking the diamonds. Before he can return the diamonds, a mystery phone call sends him running.

A gaming cop rescues Hiro from the broom closet. He needs to find Ando and Hope, so Hiro tags along. Ando discovers Hope is a dirty crook who stole thousands of dollars of chips. The cop and Hope get in a major shoot out. Ando and Hiro hide, but Hope finds them and shoots them point blank. Except Hiro reverses time and the bullet and the cops arrive. He tells Ando to go home because he can’t be responsible for him getting hurt. Hiro leaves on the bus with an awesome cameo by Stan Lee.

Sylar and Mohinder track down another hero in Montana, a woman named Dale who has super hearing. Before she could control her gift, she had major headaches. Now, she uses rap music to drown out the sound. Dale’s not eager to share, until Sylar shows her Zane’s melting gift. She tells them to come back later. Sylar pumps Mohinder for more information while being both charming and creepy. That evening, Sylar eats Dale’s brains. The next morning, Sylar has a headache from his new super hearing. Mohinder finds Dale’s body and blows chunks. Sylar convinces him not to call the cops because they will be the lead suspects.

Up on the roof, Claude beats the snot out of Peter to force him to use a power other than invisibility. He finally pulls one of Sylar’s tricks out of his hat and blocks the stick with his mind. Dude, this makes Peter as strong as Sylar without the brain sucking.

Before Claire can spill the secret of the Haitian to her mom, Mrs. Bennett passes out. HRG and the Haitian tracked Claude and Peter using infrared. They shoot Claude first with a stun gun, but Peter stops it short on him with his powers. He grabs Claude, leaps off the building and flies away. Sad, with all the CG out there and it still looks fake. Claire calls her dad. Claude beats on Peter again, this time mad that HRG knows he’s alive. Claude also has the tracking mark. He abandons Peter.

Mrs. Bennett has a bruised brain. Claire tells the doctor about the Haitian but she doesn’t believe her. Mr. Bennett spins it as best as he can, but Claire blows her cover and her tempter over his mind erasing. He pleads with his daughter that everything he does is for her safety.

Ted and Hana meet Matt in the graveyard. They convince him to join them in hunting down HRG and his bosses. The new trio shows up at the Bennett’s house with pointed guns.

Isaac paints a serious picture of Peter and turns around and finds the same expression on his face. They rumble with Peter putting a hurt on Isaac. Peter disappears and throws junk at him. Isaac shoots at where he thinks Peter is and hits…..Simone! Dum Dum Wait. Was this the Big Death? Good, because she wasn’t the most interesting one.
