Best Quotes from The O.C.

I would pay big money for a book that included all the best O.C. quotes. Each episode was filled with hysterical chit chat that had me laughing out loud. I’m not even going to pretend that I scratched the surface with the quotes below, but I figured maybe you could share a few of your favorite quotes and we can remember the witty banter and hip one liners together.
“We’re having a very Britney Christmas, Mother.”
– Kaitlin, describing her family by using 2006’s favorite shorthand for white trash.
“I love shopping, tanning and celebrity gossip. Always have, always will.”
– Summer, getting to the heart of the true Summer.
“Men to me are what chardonnay is to you. One sip and I’m upside down on a chandelier.”
– Julie, explaining to Kirsten why she’s swearing off men. And reminding Kirsten that she’s a boozehound.
“Few grunts. The occasional shrug.”
– Sandy, predicting how much chatter the Cohens will get out of Ryan at dinner.
“You’re taking all that? You only own, like, a wifebeater and two hoodies.”
– Seth, expressing surprise that Ryan has packed such a full bag for an overnight trip.
“Wow! Well, aren’t you a regular Veronica Mars? Way to solve this week’s mystery!”
– Marissa, criticizing Summer’s nosiness while referencing a wildly popular teen show.

After last week’s episode back in the real world (I think) with Desmond, it was hard to get back to the goings-on on the island(s), which are dark and dank and depressing (and where, apparently, young adults have never seen an episode of “The Brady Bunch,” which is a tragedy that severely limits their ability to make and appreciate pop culture references, I would think. Yet another casualty of the island). I felt a little let down. This episode, while good, did nothing to shed light on any mysteries, so people who are confused…are going to remain confused. Hell, we’re ALL confused, it’s just that some of us have made peace with our lack of knowledge and have made the conscious decision to still watch every week. This recap is for everyone, the confused and the enlightened, the angry and the content, the Team Jack and the Team Sawyer. I’m going to tell the Jack/Juliet story and then the Kate/Sawyer story, since they were two distinct stories that did not cross in a discernable way.

Congratulations go out to Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross and her husband Tom Mahoney on the birth of their daughters earlier today in Los Angeles. Fraternal twins Eden and Savannah are the first childen for both the actress and her stockbroker husband. Word from Marica’s rep is that “Mother and babies are all doing well.”. YAY! Marcia must be excited to be off bed rest. You know it sounds good…but it can’t be fun.
Thanks to Angelgirlla for the scoop
Gilmore Girls Recap: I’m a Kayak Hear Me Roar

(GMMR’s Tuesday night randomness) Whirl’s weekly Gilmore Girls recap is coming below. I’m watching the show right now and I just wanted to declare that I love Sean Gunn. If I were running The CW, I would have Gunn’s character Kirk be a staple in every show. He just makes me smile with his absurdity. I wish Gilmore Girls would use him a little more. Just wanted to post it, well…because I was thinking it.

GMMR Recapper: Whirl
I don’t know about you guys but I have been looking forward to this episode. Why? I’m thinking less Chris story line has got to mean more Luke story line. And where there is Luke there is a happy Whirl. So lets get to it shall we.
Lorelai is outside Rory’s apartment knocking on the door. Paris tells her to come in, so the door with 17 locks on it is left unlocked. I think Paris and I need to have a safety talk. Lorelai apologizes for showing up so early, but it’s no problem because Doyle and Paris are in the middle of their morning Yoga. You can’t believe it? Neither does Paris. She took a class so she could spout new age crap during medical school interviews but it turns out she likes it. Go figure. Lor heads to her daughter’s room surprised that Rory is up given that it’s 6am. Mommy herself has been up for a few hours already, driving around and she wants Rory to go for a drive with her, so she dutifully follows.
American Idop Recap: Top 12 Guys

So last night I live blogged my thoughts on American Idol. Yeah, it would have been good if I actually posted it. Well, so much for the LIVE part of live blogging. The Top 12 guys performed tonight, and there were some early favorites from me. I’ll be honest, since I was away I missed most of Hollywood week, so for me this was the first time hearing some of these guys. Here’s what I was thinking as the Top 12 guys were performing.
Rudy Cardenas – The boy has to annunciate the lyrics more. His voice sounded ok, but I couldn’t understand what he was saying half the time. The judges don’t think he’s all that distinctive and unique…yeah, I agree.
Brandon Rogers – One of the former backup singers. He got my attention with his dreamy eyes. The boy knows how to eye-frak the camera. He has a nice range and some nice moves that Paula will enjoy (keep it clean). The judges like him but want him to take a few more challenges.
Sundance Head – First off, I’m glad this guy finally covered up that chest hair. His first audition was great, but he keeps going a little off key. He’s a bit sharp throughout most of the song. He’s doing that American Idol thing where he’s following the camera with his eyes and doing too many hand gestures. Not terrible, but not great tonight.
…um, is Paula coherent tonight? I think she might be off the meds.
Dancing with the Stars Cast Revealed

Grab those dancing shoes because the cast for the next edition of Dancing with the Stars was announced this morning. Are you ready…here we go?
Heather Mills – Paul McCartney’s ex wife has turned into quite the publicity whore. She’ll tell you that it’s to raise awareness of those with disabilities, but she’s lying. She likes the spotlight.
Billy Ray Cyrus – The man can line dance, but can he waltz? The country singer turned actor will put it all on the line this season.
Joey Fatone – An unfair advantage? I mean, Joey has been dancing for years with the best of the best. Anyone that has been taught by Wade Robson better take the crown. Joey, you better represent. Any chance JT will show up in the audience to support Joey? Not a chance in hell. Lance and Chris Kilpatrick? Definitely.
Check out the rest of the cast after the jump!
Grey’s Anatomy Spin-Off in the Works

According to the Wall Street Journal, ABC is planning to pursue a spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy. Kate Walsh, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery on Grey’s will take the lead on the new show. Rumor has it that the 2 hour pilot will air in May.
Yeah, I’m not sure how I feel about this. Kate Walsh is amazing, and she has done so much by making Addison a loved character, but I don’t want her to leave Grey’s Anatomy. I love Addie, and I love her with all the interns. I’m sure if the spin-off is being produced by Shonda Rhimes it’s going to be fantastic, and it’s not like we are losing Addison all together, but I’ve go to sit with this news for a bit.
What do you think of Kate Walsh starring in a Grey’s spin-off? Voice off in the comments.
The Bachelorette’s Trista Rehn & Ryan Sutter Expecting Baby
February 21, 2007 by Kath Skerry

Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, who first met on the reality show The Bachelorette, are expecting their first child later this summer. “We are so happy after two years of trying,” Trista says.
According to People Magazine, Ryan, 32, a Colorado fireman, got the news from Trista, 34, a purse designer, when he flew into Denver International Airport on Dec. 18 after participating in a mountain expedition in Argentina.
“He was completely windburned and his lips were dry,” Trista recalls. “We had a three-hour drive back to our home from the airport and I couldn’t wait to tell him, so I pulled him aside to a quiet part of the baggage claim area and told him there.”
So cute. I’m not personally a big fan of those dating reality shows, but I remember watching the first episode of The Bachelorette with my roommates at the time. I was casually watching when Ryan emerged from the limo to meet Trista and I was immediately smitten. I mean smit-ten. I followed the show religiously because I was such a fan of Ryan’s. He was so cute, adorable and nice…just so sweet. I pulled a Tom Cruise and literally jumped off the couch when Trista chose Ryan.
I’ll admit it. I watched their lavish wedding on ABC the next year, but I didn’t cry. Nope not one bit…ok maybe a little. What can I say? I’m a romantic. HA! Glad to know these kids made it so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing pics of the first Bachelor baby.

Friday Night Lights – I Think We Should Have Sex
The Panthers claw their way deeper into the playoffs. Off the field, Julie shocks Matt by telling him that they should make love (someone’s been hanging with slutty Tyra too much)—but numerous fumbles ensue when Matt works to find the right time and place for the special moment.
Lost – Stranger in a Strange Land
As Jack and the Others engage in a power play, Juliet’s future is hanging in the balance; Kate, Sawyer and Karl (Blake Bashoff) continue on their flight from “Alcatraz.” (Note: Last week’s episode of Lost is on at 9pm tonight. Good news for people like me whose TiVo didn’t record the ep)
Jericho – The Day Before
Prepare yourself for a long winter. Jericho is back with eleven new episodes, new characters and a whole slew of new troubles for the townsfolk!
The Knights of Prosperity – Operation: Panic Room
While Jagger’s away, the Knights will play! Though, to be fair, there isn’t much space in Mick’s panic room in which they trap themselves so “play” may not be entirely appropriate. New York City news anchor Ernie Anastos has a cameo. (I only know who that guy is because we ran into him in a hotel elevator once and McCabe got all excited…LOL)
American Idol
Last night it was the Top 12 males performing. Tonight’s it’s the Top 12 ladies. Next week – world domination. You think Fox ever consider a 24-hour American Idol channel? I bet they have.
Steve Carell Gets ShoWest Honors

Congrats go out to The Office’s Steve Carell who was just named ShoWest’s Comedy Star of the year. The honor will be presented at the 33rd annual ShoWest Awards in Vegas in mid-March.
What makes Steve so deserving of this honor is the incredible range of comedic ability and agility that he effortlessly showcases onscreen,” ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said in announcing the honor. “He can play it broad and hilarious with the best of them, and even more impressive may be the uncanny way he can play it oh so straight and low key for laughs — and yet with a touch of pathos — as clearly evidenced this past year with ‘Little Miss Sunshine.’ “
All true. And something GMMR readers have know for quite some time. Congrats Steve!!

Veronica Mars Recap: Mars Bars

The following contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of Veronica Mars. Something kind of big goes down so avoid this recap if you don’t want to know.
Title: Mars Bars
Original Airdate: Feb. 20, 2007
This ain’t going to be your typical recap. I’m so stunned right now that I feel like I’m writing this in a fog. I’ll do the best I can but geez, it’s a tough one. Read on and you will know why. Despite the events that unfolded tonight, this was a pretty kick ass episode of Veronica Mars. The perfect mix of drama and comedy. Loved it.
The Case of the Dead Coach…
When we last saw Veronica, she was baking cookies for jailed basketball star and accused murderer, Josh Barry. Betty Crocker she isn’t, but is Veronica’s cooking that bad that she sends the guy to the hospital? Well yes, if said guy was allergic to peanuts…oops. While he’s being transported to the hospital, Josh escapes. As Veronica was the one to give him the cookies, Lamb suggests that she helped Josh, and Veronica is thrown in the slammer.
While most young women might be a little scared, Roni seems to be enjoying herself and using this time to get in some exercise with some good ‘ol pushups. Keith comes to visit and wants to make sure Veronica’s ok. She is, and lets him know with the best quote of the night: “This girl ain’t going to be nobody’s bitch…you better recognize.” Of course Keith follows later with the second best quote of the night: [commenting on seeing his daughter in a prison cell] “I thought this site would be more traumatic for me, but…” God I love these two and if I could be half as witty, I would be a happy girl. Veronica Mars has NOT Been Canceled

The internet was buzzing today with rumors that The CW has officially given the ax to my beloved Veronica Mars. Supposedly someone who worked in the catering department spilled the beans (get it? spilled the beans?!). Neptunians…Neptunites…Veronica Mars fans were freaking out and it wasn’t pretty. But fear not, the ax has not cometh, well not yet anyway.
E! TV Diva, Kristin Veitch picked up the phone and called VM creator Rob Thomas and asked him flat out about the rumors. Robby Rob had this to say:
“No. That’s not true. We’ve been told nothing. We’re treating the season ender as a season ender—not as a series ender. We would be devastated.”
Phew. Seems the rumors were just a bunch of sauerkraut (see what I did there? I tried to extend the ‘catering’ joke. I’m so clever, just like Ms. Veronica). Veronica Mars lives to see another day.
But hey, let’s try this. How about someone starts a rumor that either Jason Dohring or Ryan Hansen left his wife for that chick from GMMR? Come on, let’s see how far it will go. I’ve even got the pic to get it all going. See the love between us…it’s there, oh yes, it’s there.
The Biggest Loser? Alison Sweeney
February 20, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Alison Sweeney, who is best known for her portrayal as bad ass and slutty Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives, will take over for Caroline Rhea as the host of NBC’s The Biggest Loser when the show starts taping its fourth season this spring.
“Alison is an incredible talent and will bring not only a great fresh face to the show but a huge, loyal fan base,” said Ben Silverman, executive producer and Reveille CEO. “We are thrilled and look forward to another strong season.”
Since her debut as Sami Brady back in 1993 on DOOL Sweeney has personally struggled with her weight issues, which she candidly discussed in her book The Days of My Life (So Far), which was published in 2004 to critical acclaim. She currently maintains her slim look by running after her 2-year-old son and working out at Boot Camp as many days a week as her production schedule allows.
