The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote
April 5, 2007 by Kath Skerry
We are just hours away from an all new episode of The Office. I didn’t think I would survive the crazy long hiatus, but I did. It’s been over a month, and unless it’s a summer hiatus, we just shouldn’t have to go that long – it’s just not right. And just how long ago was the last new episode? Well to put in perspective as of February 22, 2007….
- Rainn Wilson hadn’t yet hosted SNL
- The Black Donnellys hadn’t premiered (or been canceled)
- Jennifer Hudson was not an Oscar winner
- American Idol’s Antonella Barba was just another contestant on the show
- No pics of JKras in “Leatherheads” had surfaced yet
- The O.C. was still on the air
- I hadn’t yet been to the set of The Office (Tanster & I didn’t even know yet)
- Jenna Fischer hadn’t starred in the #1 movie in the country (YAY Jenna!!!)
See, it HAS been a long time. But tonight’s SUPERSIZED episode is going to be classic. Those of us who were lucky enough to attend The Office panel at the Paley Festival have seen most of the ep and we laughed our asses off. Hours people…hours. Let’s get to it.
A Little House Keeping…
Jenna Fischer will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow night. Make sue you watch it and yell really loud for Jenna – I bet she can hear you!!
Steve Carell attended (and got slimed) at the recent Kid’s Choice Awards. The big story was how jacked Steve is. His arms put Spiderman’s to shame. Damn he looks good. Check out the pics at OfficeTally.com
Yesterday I posted some behind the scenes footage of John Krasinski’s upcoming film “License to Wed“. If you missed it make sure to check it out here. John has 2 films being released this month: “A New Wave” (which was filmed a few years ago) and “Smiley Face” with Anna Farris opening on April 20th. I’ll be sure to share the details of each premiere when I get them.
Finally a HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to The Office scribe (and Vance Refrigeration employee) Lee Eisenberg. In honor of Lee’s birthday NBC decided to air a new episode of The Office tonight. How nice of them! Lee and his writing partner Gene wrote the upcoming episode, “Women Appreciation” which I believe will air on April 26th (but don’t hold me to it).
LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…
Reunited and it feels so good. Tonight’s episode is going to be great because I get to watch it with all my BuddyTV friends. For those of you who have never watched the show with us over at BuddyTV you should stop in tonight. We normally get started around 8pm, but tonight I’ll probably open things up a bit earlier since we all need some time to catch up. I hope to see you all there tonight. Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.
Tonight on The Office… “The Negotiation”
(8pm – 4:42pm EST) SUPERSIZED EPISODE
When Darryl (Craig Robinson) corners Michael about a pay increase, the meeting compels Michael to scrutinize his own salary. Meanwhile, Pam’s confession to Roy (David Denman) impacts Jim. (More pics from “The Negotiation”)
Yahoo!TV has 2 clips up for tonight’s show (view clips) (Note: There was a VERY spoilerific clip up that was subsequently pulled down. If you are going to leave comments PLEASE don’t reference that clip and spoil it for others)
From the desk of Meredith Palmer…
This week Kate blogs about all the exciting things she has been up to outside of Dunder Mifflin. From movie premieres, to performing with The Lampshades (who are playing this Saturday at IO West in L.A.) Also find out what Kate Flannery and Craig Robinson do together when the cameras aren’t rolling? Oh get your mind out of the gutter! For all this and more check out Kate’s weekly blog. And don’t forget to leave her the love in the form of comments. She reads them…I promise. (Kate’s Blog)
Q&A with Rashida Jones…
Ms. Jones is put on the hot seat to talk about all things Scranton. Find out what she thinks about how Jim really feels about Karen; what is was like for Karen to sport the “Jersey” hair; her thoughts on her new pilot “Rules of Engagement” and much, much more. As for her future on The Office…Rashida says it’s “nebulous” (no really she does…too funny). (Rashida Jones Q&A)
Q: Is this [her new pilot] a “second position” thing, or is there an expiration date set for your Office gig?
Jones: It’s very nebulous. We’ve talked about some things, and other things may happen…. You see so many actors doing double duty on shows, so it’s totally possible. But I have to say, it will be hard for me [to leave The Office] because I really love this show and I love this part.
Scranton Goes Behind the Scenes…
A reporter from The Times-Tribune out of Scranton, PA was on set during what appears to be the final day of Season 3. No worries, no big plot twists are revealed. But just in case you haven’t had a full dose lately on what it’s like to go behind the scenes of The Office, then read on. And why this pic of Brian Baumgartner you may ask? Well it’s just adorbs and I had to find some way to use it.

The A.V. Club Talks with Mindy Kaling…
Sigh, I love Kelly Kapoor and her celebrity gossiping ways. But this time around it’s Mindy Kaling doing to the gossiping. In this great interview with The A.V. Club, Mindy talks about what it was like to be Ben Affleck, how boring Cow Hampshire is (Holla!), her favorite character to write for and East Coast vs. West Coast…yes Mindy (like everyone else from the show) is from the Boston area too. (Interview with Mindy)
Tree Planting with Oscar, Angela and Jan…
Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez and Melora Hardin took part in the Environmental Media Association and E! Entertainment Television tree planting event yesterday in L.A.. Here are a few pics from the event. See if you can guess which pic Michael Scott would have a field day with? Any Melora looks sassy, but I’m not sure if that’s the best outfit for planting trees. LOL!!

Whoo! Office Thursday has returned!
Well, not “returned” per se but we do have new ep 🙂
*first comment victory dance* 🙂
Wow! I hadn’t realized just HOW long it had been. Yay for a new ep 🙂
Hooray for the return of Office Thursday!!
TWSS Tori.
And Woohoo for Office Thursday!
Six weeks of hardcore detox…sigh… and just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. GAAAAHHH!! Can’t wait!! Yay for Office Thursday. See y’all tonight.
I can’t believe it’s tonight. It’s sad when your roommate wants to plan to go shopping tonight since we both have the night off and I tell her I can’t because I have to watch The Office.
I even have a season pass on iTunes so I could watch it tomorrow, but who wants to do that when I could watch it tonight (and tomorrow)??
That video that NBC posted on youtube, and all of the office youtube videos have been getting me through, but I’m extremely excited for the episode tonight!
Thanks again for Office Thusdays!! A new episode tonight, wohoo! Am I excited? Yes! Am I very excited? Yes! Am I extremely excited? No? Oh, ok….Who am I kidding? I am EXTREMELY excited!!!
Thank God for Office Thursdays. I can’t wait until tonight!
6. Long. Weeks.
I can’t believe this is the end of the ‘hianous’, but thank GAWD!
Ten minutes before the show starts (if there’s been a break) I always get this really giddy, geeked out type of feeling in my tummy. I think to myself ‘Self, this is it…this is really it! The moment I’ve been waiting for for so long!’ And then I feel a bit of shame that I’m more excited about watching the show than many of the more important and meaningful things in my life that week.
I swear that six weeks actually felt like a summer hiatus. Talk about brutal! I’m going to jumping around on my couch like a four year old come 7 o’clock. Ya gotta love how they keep their fans sated w/ supersized episodes, though.
No mention of BJ’s adorable appearance on Conan last night? 😉 Cadbury better watch out!
Hey, after what we dealt with last summer, and a six week mid-season hiatus… we know that “Office” fans are strong. We can deal with anything. (Except cancellation.)
Yeah MozartsFriend, that was hilarious last night on Conan! I’ve got the video loaded up on my MySpace page (just click my name and it should take you there)
I have been missing the Buddy chats so I’m excited to get back to it tonight!
Hi guys! We’re baaaackk. I am looking forward to buddy chat tonight. I don’t see a session set-up yet, though?
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the reminder…I totally forgot to schedule it. It’s done now
Is The Office on tonight? Oh, I didn’t realize……
