Good News for Friday Night Lights
April 10, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Today was a small victory for fans of Friday Night Lights. According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, NBC has just ordered six new scripts for next season. Of course that’s not even close to a full season renewal, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
NBC President Kevin Reilly has voiced NBC’s strong commitment to Friday Night Lights, and insiders expect that the show will be picked up for the 2007-2008 season despite it’s poor ratings this year. Reilly has said that finding the right place on the schedule for the show has always, and remains to be difficult. The fate of the second season will be determined during the network upfronts in May. Fingers crossed. Until then…CLEAR EYES. FULL HEARTS. CAN’T LOSE.
The season finale of Friday Night Lights will air this Wednesday at 8/7c on NBC. Immediately following the finale, Kyle Chandler (Coach Eric Taylor) and Connie Britton (Tami Taylor) will be live blogging over at NBC.com. Click here to submit a question for Kyle and Connie.

Can’t lose!
Whew, i love this show. Why did I wait to try it?
Thank goodness!!!!!!
Woo hoo, I’ll take even a small victory! Now if the show will only stay in Austin. I’ve read production is being courted by Louisianna and New Mexico. I know it might save the show some money, but the selfish part of me loves guessing where they filmed particular scenes. I’m so torn 😛
This is such great news before tomorrow night’s season finale – I’ll still be anxious until the next season is confirmed, though. I’ve said it before on this site, but I absolutely adore this show and it definitely must be renewed! It’s the best drama on TV period and best cast on TV, along with The Office cast.
Because of your site, I TiVoed last weeks episode and was instantly drawn into the show. I have since watched the first 3 episodes on NBC.com. The show has great, well-acted characters that you really care about. I love that they portray the coach and his wife as a loving married couple with disagreements that they work out in a realistic way. Great show. I hope to see it continues next season.
One small step for TV-kind!!!
We will take this as a sign of the beginning of the momentum this show is going to start having.
Love, love, love this news, and this show.
