It’s starting to really sink in. After tonight, we only have 3 new episodes of The Office. I’m actually getting a bit nervous. I’m not sure anything can top last season’s finale, but what if it comes close? What if I wish yet another summer away waiting for the return of the show in September? Well, I guess I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. Let’s concentrate on tonight’s all new episode!!
As always, check back throughout the day for Office Thursday updates. And if you have Office gossip of your own, please feel free to meet me at the watercooler to discuss 😉
“Let’s do this…”
LIVE Office Chat TONIGHT…
So this is going to be an interesting chat for me tonight. Since I’m on the West Coast I’m going to be watching the East Coast airing of the episode on my Slingbox. So the chat it on! Most likely I’m going to be in the San Francisco airport conducting the chat from a Starbucks or something as I have to catch a flight to LA tonight, but we should be all good. I hope to see some newbies here. And I wish I had some cupcakes or jellybeans to share with the cast to get them to join us tonight…oh well. As always, I’m looking forward to watching the show with YOU. Click here to set a reminder for the Office chat.
Tonight on The Office…
“Product Recall” (8:30/7:30 c)
The office is in crisis mode after a large shipment of Dunder-Mifflin paper is accidentally sent out with an obscene watermark. Michael tries to manage the media with an impromptu press conference. Jim and Andy try to calm the high school principal who has sent out prom invites on the affected stationery.
There are some preview clips available for tonight’s episode.
- Perhaps the funniest scene of The Office: GMMR
- The TV Addict: Clip #1 & Clip #2

Q&A Time with John Krasinki & Ed Helms…
In tonight’s episode, we get to see Big Tuna and Drew team up to (hopefully) save the day. The real life Jim and Andy were both featured in short Q&As this week, so I thought it was only fitting that we learn a little more about these guys.
The Q&A: John Krasinski from Entertainment WeeklyENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How does it feel to board the Shrek train?
JOHN KRASINSKI: Well, it’s a tiny little franchise that I think is really going to catch on. It’s gonna be a big deal for DreamWorks. Seriously, it’s a blast. As a kid I always wanted to be a cartoon more than anything else. And I got my chance. But you had a small voice part in Doogal, didn’t you?
Dammit! You found out. But I have a feeling that Shrek might do a little better. So what’s the deal with Lancelot?
Well, here’s what happens: Shrek is asked to be King of Far Far Away and he doesn’t want to be, so they have to go to the next closest heir, which is Fiona’s cousin Artie. But he’s a teenager, right?
He’s still in high school. It’s basically The Sword and the Stone meets Breakfast Club. And Lancelot is a jerk. He’s the jock who thinks he’s the hottest thing since fire. But you’ve always played the nice guy.
It’s all a front. I’m really a pompous ass.
Ed Helms Q&A from US Weekly
Don’t be scared by Ed Helms. Although his alter ego, Andy, just competed anger-management classes on NBC’s hit comedy The Office, off-screen, the Atlanta native plays the banjo and is a formed Daily Show contributor. The single actor, 33, debrief US.Q: So is Andy cured?
He believes he is! There was a lot of meditation, stuffed animal, scented candles and using punching bags to release tension in therapy.W: Your banjo group, The Lonesome Trio, has a cult following. Will you tour this summer?
I’m actually filming a comedy with Eddie Murphy this summer called Starship Dave. Besides, a tour is hard to schedule. We like to just get together and play.
Steve Carell Doesn’t Want to be Serious…
The Hollywood Reporter recently got to sit down with Steve Carell to ask him about his career, what it’s like to work with other great comedians like Will Ferrell and Jim Carrey, and how he juggles The Office with his burgeoning film career. And is Steve Carell ready to take the next step as an actor and do….porn? (Read more)

Yeah, not TV related at all, but I stumbled across this video on YouTube and I just had to share it.
Some brides ask their husbands to take dance lessons before their wedding so they can look graceful on the big day for the first dance. Well this groom went above and beyond. I don’t think I have ever wanted to be at a wedding more in my life. My friends A&H, M&B, and L&G are all getting married this year so here’s to hoping they can arrange this fun at their weddings!!

Got Questions for Your Favorite NBC Stars?
April 25, 2007 by Kath Skerry
I’m going to be out in L.A. on Friday and spending some quality time with stars of NBC/Universal’s hit summer shows including the peeps from America’s Got Talent (oh yes Simon Cowell, I’m SO looking forward to meeting you), The Biggest Loser (with new host Alison Sweeney), Age of Love (with host Mark Consuelos), Eureka, Flash Gordon, Burn Notice, Last Comic Standing and many more. But hey, it’s not just the summer shows. Actors from some of your other favorite NBC shows will be there as well including starks like George Takei (Kaito Nakamura) and Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah) from Heroes, and Angela Kinsey (Angela) and Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) from The Office among others. All around it should be a pretty fun day. I’ll try my best to get some good scoop for ya. But tell me… is it wrong that I’m this excited about meeting Kathy Griffin? I’d be content just to walk around with her all day as she ripped all the other stars. So bad.
If you have any questions you’d like to ask please let me know. And before you go crazy, no, I’m not going to be able to get any dirt on the season finales of HEROES or THE OFFICE (but I’ll make sure to ask anyway)!
DRIVE in Fox’s Parking Lot?
April 25, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Still waiting for more on this, but it seems that Fox’s new thrill ride DRIVE has been pulled from it’s Monday night time slot. According to Kristin Veitch, there are 2 remaining episodes that have been shot but have not yet aired. Looks like we are going to have to sit tight and see how this one turns out. I guess you can blame me for DRIVE being pulled – because the minute I say I really like a show it seems to end up being pulled from the schedule. Ugh.
Is Alec Baldwin Leaving 30 ROCK?
April 25, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Filed under 30 Rock, TV News
The Drudge Report has just posted that Alec Baldwin has supposedly told Rosie O’Donnell that he’s not only leaving the country but he’s done with television too. Or something like that. From what I can gather Baldwin’s very close friend, loose lips O’Donnell, shared the news off camera with The View’s audience. Other reports from those in attendance of Baldwin’s pre-taped appearance on The View said that he mentioned wanting out of his 30 Rock contract, but if he can’t be he will fulfill his contractual obligations. Of course this is all hearsay at this point since reports have been inconsistent.
So does this mean the end of Baldwin’s stint on 30 Rock (and let’s face it, the end of 30 Rock) or is Alex just PMSing and being dramatic in light of his recent bad press?
from The Drudge Report:
Alec Baldwin has taped an interview with Rosie O’Donnell for ABC’s VIEW, sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
O’Donnell told the studio audience off camera that this will be the actor’s only interview.“He is leaving the country,” O’Donnell told a stunned audience, says a source. [It was not clear if it was for vacation or an extended period of time.] She said she advised Baldwin against doing the interview.
During the session, to air Friday, Baldwin apologized for his tirade against his daughter. He also explained how he wants out of the TV business: “I have been in the business for over 27 years and I don’t care if I do anything else in TV ever again.”
Baldwin left CREATIVE ARTISTS AGENCY on Monday. No reason for the split was provided.
I know this site has a lot…and I mean a LOT of 30 Rock fans. If the rumors are true, will the show survive without Alec Baldwin? Can Tina Fey hold the show on her own?
Thanks to Sarcasmo for the heads up on this one.
Asia Nitollano is Your Next Pussycat Doll
April 25, 2007 by Kath Skerry

Being a 19 and a single mother hasn’t stopped Asia Nitollano from pursuing her dreams. The New York native was just named the newest member of The Pussycat Dolls after an exhaustive search all captured on the reality show- The Pussycat Dolls: The Search for the Next Doll. Asia, who in my opinion shares a striking resemblance to “Clueless” star Stacey Dash, had to sing, dance and act her way around the other two finalists Chelsea Korka and Melissa Reyes to join Nicole Scherzinger and the other Pussycat dolls (not that anyone knows their names) . Nitollano will make her Pussycat recording debut on the groups sophomore album, “Double Trouble”
“The Search for the Next Doll” was a bit American Idol with a touch of America’s Next Top Model, and just enough drama and cattiness to make it feel like another run of the mill, wannabe reality show. But it seems that’s what America wants these days.
Rosie O’Donnell Leaving The View
April 25, 2007 by Kath Skerry
It’s going to be musical chairs once more over at The View as co-host Rosie O’Donnell has decided not to return to the show for a second season. Does Barbara Walters have cooties or something? First Meredith, then Star, now Rosie?
I can’t say I’m shocked. Rosie did what she came to do – get back on TV and cause a little raucous. She’s most likely got a another gig lined up – one where she can really be in control. I don’t really watch The View all that much, but Rosie certainly brought some freshness to the show. But I always felt like the minute she showed up it became “The View with Rosie O’Donnell…and whoever else she decides to let talk today.” It became all about Rosie. So much so at times she even had me feeling sorry for the annoying Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
So what does Miss Rosie have to say about all this? “My needs for the future just didn’t dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me,” O’Donnell said in a statement Wednesday. “This has been an amazing experience,” she said, “and one I wouldn’t have traded for the world.”
As for host Barbara Walters she says, “I induced Rosie to come back to television on ‘The View’ even for just one year. She has given the program new vigor, new excitement and wonderful hours of television. I can only be grateful to her for this year.”
The president of daytime programming for the Disney-ABC Television Group, Brian Frons, told ABCNEWS.com, ‘Going in we knew we would have an amazing year with her, and that anything beyond that would be gravy. But we were willing to take the chance because we understood what a coup it was to entice Ro back to daytime television. So here we are a year later, and while we’ve tried to come to terms on a deal that would extend her co-hosting duties on The View, we find ourselves unable to agree on some key elements.’ ”

American Idol: Idol Gives Back

Ellen DeGeneres joins Ryan Seacrest to host “Idol Gives Back”, a star-studded event to raise money for U.S. and African children’s charities. The blockbuster night of entertainment will include performances from past Idols Kelly Clarkson & Carrie Underwood, Josh Groban, Rascall Flatts , Celine Dion, etc. Celebs slated to appear include Hugh Grant, Keira Knightly, Quincy Jones, Helen Mirren, Jack Black among MANY others. The Idol contestants will also debut a new song written by Bono and Dave Stewart called “American Prayer”.
Those in charge of the show recognize they are walking a fine line, said an executive producer.
“We have to be really careful, because people watch “American Idol’ for entertainment and to see their favorite contestant,” said Cecile Frot-Coutaz, who oversees “Idol” as chief executive officer of producer FremantleMedia North America Inc.
“Maybe some people don’t want to spend two hours watching poverty and people suffering,” she said. “But we’re going to try to do it in a way that gives them great entertainment but raises awareness for people who are very poor, and children in particular, in the United States and Africa.”
With seemingly ubiquitous American Idol fan base “Idol Gives Back” has the potential to be a very important night. “Idol Gives Back” actually started last night as sponsors donated money for every single vote cast, raising probably millions in just one night. Good job Idol – I like that you’re taking your world domination and using it for good rather than evil (and by evil I mean those cheesy Ford commercials).
What can you do to support Idol Gives Back:
- Watch the shows on April 24th and 25th.
- Vote for your favorites.
- Make a donation here.
- Read more at www.cpefund.org.
- Tell your friends about Idol Gives Back.

Wow. Ask and ye shall receive. I know this is silly, but seriously, just ONE WEEK after I wrote in my column that I really like Foreman and I really wish they’d develop his character more, lo and behold! we get a beautiful, Foreman-centric episode that does just that!! Of course…there is the fact that they film these episodes weeks to months in advance, so I guess I can’t “technically” take credit for convincing them to do a Foreman-centric episode in just a week. But still…it was awesome. And hey, you never know, maybe I’m just psychic. In that case: I predict that House will finally convince Cuddy to date him, Cameron will continue to be a cold-hearted dumb slut, sweet-natured Chase will still pursue Cameron despite that fact, Foreman will remain awesome, and Wilson… well, Wilson will still be a good foil for House, no matter what happens to his story.
But anyway, getting back to Foreman, it was really great to see his character developed further beyond the usual raised eyebrows and eye rolls at House’s behavior that he is usually reduced to. Tonight, we saw how he tries to distance himself from his parents, especially his sweet mother who is slowly losing her memory, which is obviously painful for Foreman to be around. And even though it’s been briefly discussed in previous episodes, we really saw tonight how ashamed he is of his criminal past, and how angry he is at other poverty-stricken minorities who don’t try to rise above their situations, like he eventually did.

I am heading out to an all day meeting, which means I’m not going to be back to GMMR until later in the day. You have no idea how much this bums me out…especially since I so wanted to talk about The Bachelor this morning. Those crazy broads cracked me up again last night. Their mothers should be so proud – ha ha ha.
I’m sorry for the lack of updates today. I’m a horrible blogger, this I know. In the meantime, feel free to hang out here an talk to each other. Play the “Six Degree game”, or or debate any of the following important topics:
- Favorite single episode of any show of all time
- The show you so would like to see a reunion episode for every 5 or 10 years
- Favorite TV couple of all time
…or you know, throw out your own thought provoking TV related question. Just have fun and get to know your fellow GMMRers until I get back. I can check all your comments via my cell phone so they will be a nice distraction during breaks from my meeting.
Have fun…miss you!!

Linderman gets a voiceover as we get a recap of where we last left our heroes. I’ll be honest, I never pay attention to these opening and closing voiceovers. They’re pretty interchangeable, as far as I’m concerned.
Mr. Bennett, jailed at Primatech Paper, has a visit from Claire…only, as he’s quick to notice, it’s really shape-shifter Candice. Once he pushes her away, Thompson enters to mess with his head a little more. Bennett talks a big game, playing unafraid, but Roberts says he’s just waiting for the order to kill him, ’cause he follows orders.
At the Corinthian hotel, Nathan and Linderman peruse the latter’s art collection — including eclectic pieces by Isaac and Japanese feudal art. Things get interesting when Linderman “heals” a dying plant, restoring it to a lush bloom. Whatever, Powder. I still don’t trust you.

And so, after all that, it turns out that Audrey has gone crazy, and the only words she knows how to say are “Jack, please help me – please don’t let them do this to me.” Ouch. That’s gotta hurt Jack, knowing that you just gave up insanely secretive, world-war-causing info for a former lover that you didn’t actually spend that much time with, and who has now lost her mind. Great. And you also would have killed yourself for her too, if crafty Doyle hadn’t found your secret location and interrupted your exchange with his gunfire. Fantastic. But you know what the hardest part of this is? This plot development wasn’t even the worst thing that happened tonight.
No, in my mind, the worst thing that happened was the horribly unjust firing of my man Bill Buchanon. I just can not believe that this all went down as quickly as it did – but hey, this is 24, and many things happen WAY quicker than they would in real life, so we’ll just put that issue aside for now. But anyway, Bill suddenly had to be fired because weasel Chad Lowe, in order to save himself from a death penalty, brought out information that showed how Buchanon had Fayed in custody 2 years ago and then let him go. Of course, the fact that they had zero charges against Fayed, and therefore, no legal reason to hold him means nothing – all that matters, apparently, in the minds of the prosecutors and the media, is that Bill had Fayed and then let him go.

HEROES is Back Y’all

After what has probably seemed like forever to most of you HEROES is finally back tonight on NBC. I am happy to report that I have finally caught up with the entire series (thank you NBC.com). I know, I know I should have been watching from episode 1, but I’ll be honest with you – it didn’t grab and hold my attention like I thought it would over the first few episodes. Perhaps the hype was so big there was no way for it to live up to my expectations.
Well I was getting really tired of not being able to talk about HEROES with Ducky on the podcasts* so I thought it would be in my best interest to get caught up. I’m so glad I did because I really love the show. It reminds me a bit of Alias in the way that it’s escapist fantasy for me. It’s a really fun hour of TV and I can’t wait to watch it tonight. As much as I was excited to watch the shows I was equally as excited to go back and read all of Julie’s HEROES recaps. It killed me not to read them when the shows were airing – she cracks me up.
So the show is back and I will be watching and for the first time I can actually talk about it with you tomorrow!!
If you want to catch some preview clips of tonight’s episode, click here and head over to The TV Addict – he can hook you up.
* For those of you who have emailed me about the GMMR|DuckyxDale Podcasts and lack thereof, please know that we will be doing another one, and hopefully soon. I’ll be back on the East Coast next week, and if Ducky has some time we will definitely be podcasting away. Meanwhile, if you really want to hear another podcast ASAP, I suggest you email Ducky and bitch…he’ll love it. And as always, if you have questions that you would like Ducky and/or I to answer in our next podcast, click here to call us and leave a voice message.

I’m not usually one to recommend watching a repeat, especially when there’s so much great original programming on tonight. But, if you haven’t ever seen the “Slap Bet” episode of How I Met Your Mother, I think you should consider TiVoing it tonight. This is my favorite episode of this series, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it.
So what makes it do good? Well we have the Slap Bet and Robin Sparkles. Two classic HIMYM tales in one episode.
