LICENSE TO WED Trailer…Finally

May 3, 2007 by
Filed under John Krasinski, License to Wed, TV News

After watching the new LICENSE TO WED trailer 10 times I thought it would be nice if I shared it with all of you.

Of course I’ve known for a long time that this was going to be my favorite movie of the summer (for obvious reasons), but after watching the clip I’m even more convinced – it looks pretty funny. And fans of THE OFFICE should keep their eyes out for familiar faces. Mindy Kaling, Angela Kinsey and Brian Baumgartner are also in the movie. Actually Brian Baumgartner can be seen in the trailer…doing some interesting moves.

So enjoy!!

Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito Split

Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Esposito SplitFormer Alias and Kitchen Confidential star Bradley Cooper and his wife, actress Jennifer Esposito have split after four months of marriage.

Esposito filed for divorce on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. Esposito is seeking spousal support and requests that the court deny any financial support for Cooper. She’s also asking that he pay her legal fees.

Cindy Guagenti, a rep for Cooper, said in a statement: “The divorce was mutual and they’ve been separated for quite a while.”

So they get married in December, file for divorce four months later, and we find out the’ve been separated for awhile. Seems like maybe the wedding day and the honeymoon went well, and it just all went to hell after that. Since I’m a silver lining type of girl I’ll focus on the positive – Bradley Cooper is single again!!

Wow. That was quite a dramatic ending, wasn’t it?! I do not think I will soon forget the image of Foreman stabbing that poor, brave, screaming-in-agony kid in order to get a bone marrow sample from him. Yikes. But, in the end, if Foreman hadn’t done that, the kid’s brother would have died from his leukemia. And in addition, if Foreman hadn’t forged ahead in trying to figure out the kid’s infection instead of just using his dying brother as a Petri dish (like House wanted to), then the kid might ALSO not be alive. Dude: Foreman rules.

Bon Jovi is going to perform tonight and two contestants are going to go home. I’ve watched Blake Lewis’ performance at least four times now. I’m going to find it online and post it here as soon as I can. I’m not loving the idea of two people going home tonight because I’m pretty sure Phil will be gone. What can you say, I like them tall and bald.

VERONICA MARS Recap: Un-American Graffiti

Original Airdate: May 1, 2007
by GMMR

So tonight we had out first new episode of VERONICA MARS in forever! I’ll be honest, I wasn’t missing it as much as I probably should have been. It was a little out of sight, out of mind for me. This happened during the last mini-hiatus as well. But just like earlier this year, within the first few minutes of the show I’m reminded of how much I love it, and why it’s one of the best that TV has to offer. We are just weeks away from learning the fate of the show, and it’s episodes like this that just baffle me…how can more people not love it?

On to an overly verbose recap of tonight’s episode.

As Veronica waits at the end of a long coffee line, her ex-beau (and lobster) Logan Echolls stands in front. Being the doll that he is (albeit it a chemically unbalanced doll) he snags a java for Roni. The two navigate the Hearst cafeteria doing what they do best. NO, not THAT!! I mean witty banter…you pervs.

Veronica: 8AM. Shouldn’t you be in a wet suit somewhere?
Logan: Early Poly Sci.
Veronica: And you’re actually going?
Logan: Yup. And I even bought this amazing pen that accents text in neon colors.
Veronica: Ah, a highlighter!
Logan: Lots of advancements since the last time I buckled down. How about you?
Veronica: Violence in Early Adolescence.
Logan: Need me to autograph your text book?

Love them!

I don’t have much time to bask in the glow of LoVe before Logan invites Veronica to the birthday party that he’s throwing for his new gf Parker at the Neptune Grand. Ugh.

As hard as it may be to believe, all of Veronica’s acquaintances seems to be alive and kicking. Without a murder to solve Veronica has time for other cases. The owner of a local Arabian restaurant, Babylon Gardens, needs help finding out who vandalized their business with rocks and the word “terrorist”. While Veronica is staking out the scene she has an icy encounter with the restaurateurs daughter, Amira, a former Neptune High peer of Veronica’s. Veronica is soon dismissed from her stalking duties by Amira’s father. But no sooner is she fired than she is re-hired when a car drives by and pelts them all with paint guns. Veronica and her super Spidey powers noticed the bumper sticker of the car as it passed. It was one of those cheesy “My kid was honor student of the month at Neptune Middle School” ones. You can guess Veronica’s next stop.

AMERICAN IDOL Recap

American Idol, Bon Jovi

It’s Bon Jovi night!! I was raised on Bon Jovi and I’m giddy with excitement. Each of the Idols are singing a classic Jovi tune tonight. YAY!!

On a personal note, this is my first time watching American Idol since meeting Simon Cowell last week. I’ll definitely talk more about it later, but let me just say that I loved him. I know he’s media savvy and all, but he was really, really sweet and VERY charming. May I also say that he’s quite handsome. I was sitting directly in front of him, about an arms length away and it was hard not to stare. Well, then again it was either stare at Simon or David Hasselhoff’s chest hair so….

Phil Stacey – First up for the night and singing “Blaze of Glory”. WOW! What a performance. I thought he sounded amazing. I mean I know I’m a Phil fan but I think you have to agree that this was pretty fun. Randy and Paula loved it, and Simon was, in my opinion, WAY too harsh.

Jordin Sparks – Jordin took on one of my favorite songs EVER, “Livin’ on a Prayer”. I think Jordin is brilliant, but I thought she really struggled with the song tonight. She was really off when she sang in her lower register. Even on the higher notes she was uncharacteristically warbly. The judges and I were on the same page – they didn’t love her. Simon went as far to say it was terrible.

LaKisha Jones – “This Ain’t a Love Song” was her choice and of all the Jovi songs, I think this is the perfect choice because it’s got a lot of soul. Just her voice on the song made it completely new to me. What a performance! Fantastic…really fantastic. The judges loved her. So much so that Simon kissed her right on the lips…HYSTERICAL!! No, I mean she walked off the stage and he stood and insisted that she kiss him on the lips. Love it!!

Blake Lewis – Jon Bon Jovi is a little weary of Blake’s version “You Give Love a Bad Name” – that can’t be good. Beat Boxxing Black haired Blake is on tonight. The boy has somehow made the song into a techno remix, and OMG I am in LOVE. He’s so different than anything we have EVER seen on Idol before. I almost don’t want to hear what the judges have to say because I loved it THAT much. Ok, the judges loved it…whew. Can I download this performance on iTunes tomorrow?

HEROES Recap: String Theory

Title: “String Theory” (according to my Tivo) or “Five Years Gone” (according to the credits)
Original Air Date: 4/30/2007
GMMR Recapper: Julie (TV and Sympathy)

“What if they can’t stop the bomb? What if New York is destroyed? What if they can’t save the world?” That’s what this episode intends to explore. Let’s hope it’s not just a waste of a week.

We pick up at Isaac’s loft where last week we left Hiro and Ando meeting future-Hiro. Though I guess since this is the future, he’s not future-Hiro in this case, he’s present-Hiro, and it’s past-Hiro who’s meeting him. Tricky. After negotiating who will get future Hiro to spill about what happened (Hiro to Ando: “I scare me. You do it.”) they manage to learn what went down five years earlier: the day after Nathan’s election, Sylar exploded the city. Now future-Hiro is constructing a giant spiderweb-like timeline of people and events that will show him how to go back and fix things.

Exactly how messed up are things? Well, let’s take a look at our favorite heroes.

Hiro: As we’ve already seen, future Hiro is a sword-wielding bad-ass, even if he’s lost some of his optimism and naivete. He’s plagued by his inability to prevent Ando’s death (!!!) and he’s trying to protect and defend the remaining heroes in the world, whose numbers are increasing daily. More and more people are becoming “special”, and the powers that be are finding that mighty threatening to the security of the nation.

VERONICA MARS is Back Tonight!!!

Veronica Mars Back Tonight

Remember that show about that cute blond girl who fancied herself a detective? I can’t recall the name but I think it was Betty Saturn…or something like that.

I kid, I kid but of course it has been a long time since we last saw Veronica Mars. But our favorite little lady is back tonight and you should ALL be watching.  Let’s face it, Veronica Mars isn’t long for this world so you should enjoy it while you can.

Previously on VERONICA MARS…
When we last saw Ms. Mars there was, as always, quite a few things happening in her life.  It was revealed that Dean O’Dell was killed by Tim “Lucky” Foyle who was trying to frame Prof. Landry for the murder.  Landry actually thought it was Mrs. Dean O’Dell doing the framing, and when he followed her on her yacht to Mexico the two brawled and he accidentally killed her. Mrs. Dean O’Dell’s ex-husband Steve killed Lamb and Keith became Sheriff of Neptune (again).

In more important news, Logan decides to ask Parker out (how dare he) and Mac seems to have finally moved on from her rapist-mass murderer ex and is now with Bronson.

On tonight’s episode…
Veronica investigates when a restaurant owned by an Arab couple is vandalized and the word “terrorist” is spray painted on their door. Meanwhile, Keith cracks down on bars serving underage customers. Piz finally gets around to confessing his true feelings for Veronica but does she accept his advances?

If you didn’t see the Logan/Veronica scene I posted last week, click here to check it out.

24 Recap: Day 6, 1:00am – 2:00am

You know, I was really excited to see William Devane suddenly appear on the show tonight.  Then he had to go and say that to Jack at the end.  Sigh… That was really cruel and unnecessary.  I mean, seriously dude, Jack did not ask wimpy Audrey to risk her life by going off to bloody China to find him.  That was totally her genius, irrational idea.  It is not Jack’s fault AT ALL that she is in a border-line catatonic state.  So, for him to say to Jack, “You’re cursed, Jack – one way or another, everything you touch ends up dead.”  OUCH, man!  I mean seriously, that was way out of line harsh.  Jack Bauer not only saved your life as well as Audrey’s several times, but he has also saved the COUNTRY and the WORLD many times!!  Dude: Not cool.

Besides that, though, it looks like 24 may finally be taking Audrey out of the picture for good – except, surprisingly, they won’t be killing her off (as was many a fan’s hope).  Oh well.  Personally, I won’t be sorry to see her go, but I am glad that they found a more creative way to get rid of her, other than killing her.  Because frankly, I think I pretty much speak for all 24 fans out there when I say that killing off major characters on this show is not at all shocking anymore – we the fans have gotten so used to it, that we’ve become desensitized to the concept; and, as a result, to the characters as well (for the most part).  Sigh.  Here’s hoping that 24 continues on this little path of not completely repeating themselves.
