GMMR Game Time: You’re the Star

June 15, 2007 by

Have you ever wanted to be the star of your favorite show? Kick a little ass as Buffy? Make the morning coffee in Luke’s diner? How about fly, stop time, or heal yourself as one of the Heroes? Well here’s your chance. If you could change places with any character on any show (part or present) which character would you be and in what episode would you choose to swap places?

I’m so excited to read your thoughts!!

GMMR – I love your fun games. It’s always fun to read other’s responses. It looks like I’m the first one up. So, I’m going to swap places with Miss Josephine Potter in the episode where she chooses to sail off with her true love, Pacey Witter, on the True Love. Being another fan of Dawson’s Creek I thought you might appreciate that one.

  2. Angela on June 15th, 2007 5:24 pm

Great topic GMMR! I would love to change places with Pam on the Office because I think it would alot of fun to work at Dunder Mifflin. If I had to pick a particular episode to trade places with her it would have to be Casino Night because then I would get to kiss Jim Halpert. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. jenintx on June 15th, 2007 5:26 pm

Gosh, I wonder how many female readers would trade places w/ Pam? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think I wouldn’t mind being Mrs. Coach (Tami Taylor)for awhile. She’s smart, sexy, and confident. And the super hot(if, at times, exasperating) husband wouldn’t be too bad either.

  4. micha on June 15th, 2007 5:32 pm

Am I going to be the first one to say that I would change places with Pam Beesly during Casino Night. Completely unoriginal, but I’m not passing up a chance to make our with Krasinski.

  5. jenintx on June 15th, 2007 5:33 pm

I forgot to add that there are a couple of super bada*s ladies I would like to be like, but I wouldn’t want their lives. Veronica Mars(killer instincts, smart as a whip, cute as a bug…but oh, the heartache) or Kara Thrace( ultimate bada*s, unfortunatly maybe crazy, dead, or both)

  6. Benjamin J. on June 15th, 2007 5:40 pm

Are there any other guys playing today? I’m going to have to say that I’d like to be George O’Malley in any episode of Grey’s that he gets to make out with both Callie and Izzie.

My follow up would be Michael Scofield the day he broke out of Fox River. What a bad ass he was.

  7. Jo on June 15th, 2007 5:41 pm

    Sydney. Bristow. Oh yes.

  8. GMMR on June 15th, 2007 5:50 pm

Come on Jo, I’m not letting you off that easy. Which episode would you like to be in?

  9. Kat on June 15th, 2007 5:57 pm

I would love to trade places with Veronica Mars. Whenever I find myself in a boring situation, I often wander off into a daydream, catching the bad guy, but always having the wittiest thing to say. Love it.

  10. Mel on June 15th, 2007 5:58 pm

Tami Taylor, Queen of Awesome, and also of Friday Night Lights, in “State”. Kyle Chandler telling her he loves her and she’s his dream and he’s gonna stay in Dillon and have this baby with her? Hmmm. Yeah, I’d be down for that. SO DOWN.

I’m going to do something other people might not and pick some seemingly confusing choices.

    1. Phyllis from The Office. Because she’s adorable, has the best, most prepared (Bob Vance can air up tires), and most romantic (huge teddy bear, anyone) husband. Plus her life isn’t filled with too much drama. Besides having to work with Michael. She just gets to watch all the drama happen. She can jab Karen with her comments (“Jim was so hung up on Pam”) and annoy Dwight and Andy (“I don’t trust you Phyllis!”). I couldn’t pick just one episode.

    2. Rory from Gilmore Girls. But that’s only because then I could change her, make her stop her annoying self-absorbed whining, and make her realize that Logan’s great – no career should be more important than your soulmate. I’d pick the last 3-4 episodes and the random episode throughout the series where she’d be crying because she doesn’t know what she wants to do for a living, and things don’t go her way. It happens to everyone, stop whining! ๐Ÿ˜€

I wouldn’t want to be Sydney Bristow, even though she is one of the strongest, best characters in tv. I’d love to see the world through Syd’s eyes, but I wouldn’t want the drama. Being kidnapped, buried alive, and have a gun pointed at you every day? Having your eggs stolen for the “second-coming” of a historic “prophet”? No thank you.

I wouldn’t want to be Veronica Mars for the same reason. Too much drama, I’d like my life to be drama-less. ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. Marin on June 15th, 2007 6:36 pm

Sydney Bristow! Sure her life was crazy, but to have Jack Bristow as a father?! I’d take that any day!

    or

Lorelai Gilmore! Just because there’s no one more amazing! (except perhaps Syd!)

  14. Lizzie on June 15th, 2007 6:54 pm

I think if I was going to be Pam I would want to be her in the last episode of this season because having Jim finally ask her out would have to be amazing!
I also love the idea of Tami Taylor in “State” cause Eric’s speech and his reaction to her news were great!
But I think I would have to go with Sydney Bristow in “Phase One” because she gets to take down SD-6 after all that work and she finally gets to kiss Vaughn ๐Ÿ˜€

  15. Cara on June 15th, 2007 7:55 pm

So, it’s a given that every female (and some of the males) reading this site has for their number one pick: any female character opposite John Krasinski. Right?

  16. Sarah on June 15th, 2007 9:46 pm

I would love to have been Felicity (First and Fourth Season Only) for a few days. Cute clothes, cute hair, and SUPER cute boyfriend. Of course, I’d prefer to be Felicity when she and Ben weren’t fighting, but…hey any way to get closer to Scott Speedman!
Also, it wouldn’t be so bad to be Karen Fillipelli, either, would it? (Until she gets abandoned in New York.)

  17. Allie on June 15th, 2007 10:39 pm

VERONICA MARS BABY!!! although i love me some Jim Halpert….Veronica has exactly the right amount of brains, sass, and beauty that i long to have as well….also because i love Logan.

  18. Crashlanding on June 15th, 2007 10:58 pm

Wow tough choice. Who would I trade places with? I can’t go with just one but I was able to narrow it down to two.

    1. Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Episode: Fool for Love (Season 5). He gets to kick some ass, be damn cool, act all dangerous but you find out he was kind of a loveable dork on the inside. Also if I switched places with Spike I would get to dye my hair platinum blonde, which I currently do not have the guts to do.

    2. Jim from The Office. Episode: The Client (Season 2). Sure it would be nice to be tall and handsome for a few days. And acting out Michael’s script would have been fun. But reasons #1 through #3,046 to be Jim is that he got to go on a date with Pam (and it was a date darn it, swaying is dancing, just poor dancing).

  19. Damian on June 15th, 2007 11:23 pm

when I was younger I always wanted to be a Marine Biologist, so I would trade places with George Costanza from Seinfeld in “The Marine Biologist” episode. How awesome would it be to be on top of a whale face to face with its blow hole, you stick your hand in it because you see that something is obstructing its breathing and you pull out a Titlelist Golf Ball, thus saving the great fish’s(its really a mammal) life. George Costanza…….a true American Hero

I also wouldnt mind be anyone from Arrested Development, more so Gob Bluth and Tobias. Gob because he is an amzing illusionist and Tobias because I know the struggles of being a Never-nude in this day and age

  20. Carly on June 15th, 2007 11:47 pm

    Im going to be obvious.
    I will switch with Pam.
    And have jim’s babies.

  21. Carli on June 16th, 2007 12:09 am

Mrs. Coach! She has it all. Brains, beauty, charm, wit, etc. She has a wonderful husband and daughter. I love her job and how she just wants to help people, specifically younger people. And Connie Britton is just awesome ๐Ÿ˜‰ I wouldn’t mind spending one day as Veronica, Sydney or Starbuck either. Gimme some Logan, Vaughn and Apollo please!

  22. Sus on June 16th, 2007 8:58 am

My first thought was Sydney Bristow but since that’s already taken I’m going with Joan Girardi from Joan of Arcadia. Sure, people might think she’s crazy. But she can talk to God. If I were her, I wouldn’t even care if God answered my questions, I’d just go on and on asking and telling him/her how I thought the world should be. Also, she got to be with Adam…for a while. *sigh* I’m still upset about that.

If I had to pick a specific episode…oy…um…Joan doesn’t have it easy…either Friday Night, where Joan and Adam go on their first date (before the horrible stuff) or Queen of the Zombies…because I’ve always wanted to be in a play.

  23. Sus on June 16th, 2007 9:02 am

Oh yeah, and I’d also like to be either Rory or Lorelai but I don’t think there are many people who wouldn’t. I could be wrong.

  24. Uggy on June 16th, 2007 9:41 am

Liz Parker From Roswell In any Episode where she got to touch Max Evans. Or Future Max, loved that episode (The End of The World)

  25. Jaime on June 16th, 2007 1:55 pm

I’d switch places with Pam, go back in time, and redo Casino Night. Jim says, “I’m in love with you. I’m sorry if that’s weird for you to hear, I just needed you to hear it.” I say, “I love you too. Kiss me. Take me right here in this Parking Lot of Love.”

Then it gets R-rated, blah blah blah. Then we spend the rest of our lives together, and I get to tell people, “That’s right. I’m married to Jim Halpert. You jealous?”

  26. Kim S on June 16th, 2007 2:01 pm

I would be Pam from The Office. Jim Halpert, afterall, is the perfect man and I would like to experience that firsthand.

  27. Jen on June 16th, 2007 2:50 pm

    Pam Beesly. For obvious reasons.

    and/or

Joey Potter. I would have picked Dawson.

  28. CrazyGringa on June 16th, 2007 3:37 pm

As many of the others have stated here, I would also switch with Pam. The episode I would choose would be Booze Cruise, though. Ah, to be on the receiving end of those looks that Jim gave her. That way I could jump him after the 27 Seconds of Silence.

That and I would get to witness first hand the Boss of Dancing!

  29. Scooter McGavin on June 16th, 2007 5:43 pm

I would exchange my life with either Bo or Luke Duke in any episode because there is car race where they fly through the air in almost all of them.

  30. Claudia on June 16th, 2007 6:29 pm

    WOW this is hard (twss)

Okay I would swap places with Pam on Casino night. That way I could her stop her from making a huge mistake and rejecting Jim. THAT way she would be happy now and there would be no Karen. Although because of her choice we finally met FNB!

My second choice would be Dr Temperance Brennan. Who wouldn’t want to be smart, beautiful and spend all their time with Agent Seeley Booth? ha ha

I love Bones – If I could swap with her I would get her to stop mucking around and be all over Booth! *hee hee*

Great game Kath! Do we get to hear yours???

    Hope you are well!! xoxox

  31. sim on June 16th, 2007 7:44 pm

Anyone who has seen me post before already knows…Veronica Mars! I love the snarky come-backs and definately the clothes. Plus I’d drop Piz and go back to rock Logans world.

  32. Jo on June 16th, 2007 7:58 pm

haha okay GMMR. What’s the one where they come gun blasting into SD-6 and Weiss is yammering and Syd finally gets to mack with Vaughn? That one.

  33. Rayne on June 17th, 2007 1:54 am

I would love to swap places with Martha Jones, and travel through time and space with The Doctor and Captain Jack Harkness.

  34. Clare on June 17th, 2007 8:55 am

OK, I would definitely be Jamie Sommers in the “Kill Oscar” episode of Bionic Woman where she has to fight off not one but TWO evil fembots to save the OSI!! …. K, I think I just seriously dated myself there. Oh well, sooooo glad to hear there’s a remake of that show coming Kath. Keep me posted.

  35. kilwiggle7 on June 17th, 2007 10:30 am

Oh where to begin. I don’t think I can narrow it down to only one… First off, I’d love to be Joey Potter- she got to sail away on True Love with Pacey, she also got to spend some QT with Eddie… That was one lucky girl!!

And everyone above was saying Tami Taylor, but I’d love to be little miss Julie Taylor… Not only is she smart, but she’s dating the QB of the football team and what girl hasn’t ever wanted to do that in their teenage years. Episode wise, I’d have to say that I’d love to be in the episode of their first date when he sings to his grandma… so adorable!!!

  36. Jonathan on June 17th, 2007 11:52 am

I have a few that I would characters/episodes I would love to jump into:

Jeremy Goodwin from Sports Night in “Shoe Money Tonight”. He starts out in one of his crazy fights with Natalie, plays poker with the gang taking everyones money then let’s Natalie make it up to him afterwards. Plus he has great moments talking with Dan.

Xander Harris from Buffy in “The Zeppo”. Everyone else is fighting off a potential apocalypse not letting Xander help trying to keep from harms way. He goes on to have his own crazy adventure stopping some zombies from blowing up the school, and proving to himself that he can be a hero without any of his superpowered friends. Oh, and he gets to sleep with Faith somewhere i the middle.

Basically anytime a nerdy guy breaks out of shell and gets his girl.

  37. carly on June 17th, 2007 12:39 pm

Haha, I’ve actually thought about this a lot before. Let me see…

-Lorelai Gilmore: She’s smart, sassy, always looks good, a cool mom but also flawed and that makes her realistic. I just love her small town life and her relationship with Rory. And obviously her history with Luke is enough to pull me in. I’m a sucker for that sort of love story ๐Ÿ˜‰

-Rory Gilmore: A would kill to be the movie/book buff that she is. Towards the end of the series she got pretty whiny and talked really babyish sometimes so I’d want to hop into her character and fix that. Plus I would dump Logan in a heartbeat and give Jess a call.

(not to mention if you are a gilmore girl you get to eat all you want and never gained a pound!!!)

-Tami Taylor: I just love her character so much. She always sticks up for herself, stands by her oh-so-sexy man and just wants to protect her daughter.

-Julie Taylor: She dates Matt Saracen, nuff said.

-Penelope Widmore: She’s Desmond’s girl, nuff said.

  38. elly on June 17th, 2007 1:21 pm

my first reaction is to say pam during “office olympics” or the season three finale, or to say joey potter during “coming home.” when i really think about it though, i think i’d want to be jen lindley just at the moment in the dawson’s creek finale that jack tells her that she’s his soulmate. there’s something about jen and jack that gets me.

  39. Stapler on June 17th, 2007 7:49 pm

I’ve always wanted to be Jeannie on “I Dream of Jeannie.” I’m showing my age here (early 40’s) but that was my favorite show as a child. Being able to blink and have any wish come true was part of it, but the real reason I wanted to be Jeannie was so that I could live in her bottle!

The curved glittery, bejeweled walls, that pink couch, the satin pillows, draped beads, and flickering lanterns…what better place to live?!

And the specific episode that I’d like to be Jeannie is the one where Major Nelson gives Jeannie a tiny replica Jeannie bottle necklace!

  40. gatinha on June 18th, 2007 1:04 am

There’s no rule about animated characters, right? I’d be Daria. Sure she’s a social misfit, but she’s smart and she knows what she wants out of life. Plus, she gets to hang out with Trent, the hottest animated would-be rock star ever. As for a specific episode, I want “Cafe Disaffecto”. Being responsible for starting an anti-Communist rally isn’t something that happens every day . . .

  41. LaFilipiniana on June 18th, 2007 1:03 pm

I would be the following at the following times:
    (1) Rory when she first kisses Jess (by the lake?) – she was not annoying then, but a sweet, smart girl who finally wises up by leaving her dumb pretty-boy boyfriend (Dean) for the town badass/closet smartypants. After Jess was off the show, Rory got consistently more annoying, ended up sleeping with Dean, and dating Logan, who sucked.
    (2) Sam in Freaks and Geeks when she gets together with Jason Segel’s character, but I’d make them stay together – he was so devoted to her, I wish she’d realize how cool he was.
    (3) Angela in My So Called Life. Screw Jordan Catalano – I would rewrite the last episode to make her get with Brian Krakow.

I know all my choices are related to romance-related themes, but I’m a romantic, what can I say?

I would also not be Veronica Mars – but because I thought she turned into the hugest b**** at the end of the series.
