John Krasinski on Conan

There are only a few cons to being such a John Krasinski fan. And one of those cons includes knowing some of his best stories verbatim because you’ve never missed a talk show appearance of his. Even though he told a few well known tales last night (the lawn dart and Sarah and her friend) John was fantastic on Conan. John and Conan have such a great rapport and John seems to relaxed. (I’m trying to think of another con to being a JKras fan but I can’t think of one yet.)

Who Was Voted Off SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

UPDATE: Click here to find out who went home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (July 8th)
PREVIOUS POST
Two more were sent home on tonight’s episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. As I’ve said before, it’s so difficult to send dancers home this early because many of them have not really had the opportunity to show America what they’re truly capable of. But the rules are the rules. The couples with the least amount of votes, dancing for their lives were:
Pashi & Jessi
Huh, um what? Uh, I was just wondering what routine the rest of America was watching last night because what I saw I thought was brilliant. This vote makes me nervous for them in the future as they clearly don’t have the popular vote.
Jimmy & Shauna
Not surprised by the one. Although the judges praised their routine it was one of the least polished of last night’s dances. That coupled with the fact that the judges weren’t ecstatic about their routine last week made them a decent choice for the bottom three.
Faina & Cedric
One again, no big surprise here. It was clear that although Faina performed well, Cedric really disappointed the judges. Nigel made sure he knew it tonight as he took the time to single out Cedric and let him know just how much he disliked his performance. But here is what irked me last night and tonight about Nigel’s comments. Last week Nigel went out of the way to applaud Cedric on his partnering skills and apologized for comments he made earlier about Cedric possibly letting his partner down. After last night’s performance Nigel acted like last week never happened. He went as far as to say that perhaps Cedric let Faina down last week as well. I was really disappointed that Nigel would be so quick to pull out the “I told you so card” when he was clearly contradicting himself. I lost a little respect for Nigel as a judge tonight.
So all six dancers took to the stage for their solos, and in the end it was….
Dominic & Sabra and Anya & Danny Performances

Sorry that I’m a bit late in posting my favorite dance from last night’s episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. For me it was hard to choose between Dominic and Sabra’s Contemporary routine and the Viennese Waltz performed by Danny and Anya. In the end I decided I would show them both, but after many viewings I’m going to say that Dom and Sabra won me over. I can’t believe that Dominic is a B-Boy? He’s amazing!!
For those of you who don’t watch SYTYCD but perhaps enjoyed ‘Dancing with the Stars’ I beg you to check out these videos to get a sense of what you are missing.

I know I said I was taking a break from OFFICE Thursday during the summer, but a girl needs her Dunder Mifflinites every once in a while. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. It’s been like Christmas this week with Steve Carell and John Krasinski ruling the talk shows. We wish Steve the best of luck with the premiere of “Evan Almighty” this weekend, and of course we’ll be talking about “License to Wed” more as it gets closer to it’s launch on July 3rd.
So as for OFFICE Thursday at Give Me My Remote, I thought I would shake things up a bit this week and have a little fun with y’all. How about some party games? First some news and then some fun. Let’s get to it.
THE OFFICE Marathon Tonight…
The Office – Casino Night (Supersized), Branch Closing, The Merger
Steve Carell is hosting tonight’s Office Marathon and showing some clips of his new movie “Evan Almighty”. I’m not sure if you’ve heard about it or not. He doesn’t seem to be doing any press for it…weird. On tonight’s episodes we get to see Jim confess his love for Pam, Toby daydreaming of surfing in Costa Rica, the first meeting of Andy and Dwight. Not a day day.
Krasinski’s Still At It (TWSS)…
Catch John this afternoon on TRL and later tonight on Conan. He still has a few more talk shows to go. For more of John’s upcoming appearances, click here. Mr. Krasinski – You’ve been running around like a crazy person between NYC and LA. Don’t you think you could come home to Newton…just for a quick visit?! Spend a few days with the fam, and um, me? You did tell me you’d be home some time this summer. Well it’s the summer. We’ll have a few beers, a BBQ, listen to some Death Cab…it will be fun.
Fandomicity…
I’m not sure there are ANY fans like OFFICE fans. You must, must, must take the time to watch FANDOMICITY, a mockumentary about the The Office and the fans who love it. It was created by the brilliant Maggie aka Seat18b. It’s so fantastic. I hope that everyone involved with the show has taken the time to watch it and feel the love from their fans. (Click here to watch Fandomicity)
Happy Birthday Tanster. Sorry your party’s so lame…
Yes today is the birthday of Tanster who as you all know runs OfficeTally.com – the site to go to for all your Office news. I have been lucky enough to get to know Tanster over the past year or so and she’s a not only a great gal but one of the most dedicated Office fans around. Happy Birthday Tanster!! We’ll always have Van Nuys…
What are we doing? What’s the game? I want in…
I thought we could have a little fun this week and play our own version of The Office Olympics. Sadly we can’t play Flonkerton, but hopefully you’ll have a little fun with these games. The answers will be revealed tomorrow and the winner gets to choose an item from the GMMR Store. This is on the honor system, so no cheating (please).
GAME #1:The Office Audio MixMatch
Listen to these clips and name the episodes from which the lines were taken. (1) point for each episode you correctly identify. It’s not as easy as you think!! A special thanks to the fabulous What’s the Scuttlebutt from the audio clips.
Clip #1: Name the 5 episodes featured in this clip (Play)
Clip #2: Name the 6 episodes features in this clip (Play)
More Office games after the jump.

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Recap: Top 18 Perform
June 20, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Filed under Neil Haskell, So You Think You Can Dance
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE…dance…dance…dance. I hear the opening notes of the intro and I’m already excited. After last week’s very impressive first week of competition I’m anxious to see what we have in store for us tonight. As long as you promise me I don’t have to see Benji Schwimmer in his skivvies again then I’ll be fine.
Cat Deely welcomes us all and with the audience’s help she introduces the “Juuges”. Adopt me Cat Deely!! Tonight we have Mia Michaels joining Mary and Nigel in the judging of tonight’s dancers. Mia was still a little bitter that her favorite dancer Ricky was sent home last week. Let’s hope Mia’s mood brightens because you don’t want her of all people in a bad mood while she’s critiquing your dance.
So let’s get to it, shall we?
Lauren & Neil were first up tonight with their hip hop routine. Um, what is Lauren wearing? I think something out of Cyndi Lauper’s closet died on her. I was expecting Lauren to the be the star of this one, but it was Neil who was the one to watch (and not just because he’s adorbs). Although their routine was much, much better than last week, I didn’t love it. Lauren seemed a bit stiff and she had this crazyass permasmile going. All the while Neil was just dancing circles around her….literally. The judges liked their dance for the most part, but Mia thought Lauren has more to give.
Pasha & Jessi dazzled me last week with their waltz and killed it tonight with their African-inspired jazz routine. They were amazing, and so expressive. Pasha, Pasha, Pasha…once again you impressed me you little Russian doll you. This guy has a real range of dancing despite being trained as a Latin ballroom dancer. Jessi is a walking sexpot and these two look and dance great together. The judges all loved it. They aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. And by that I mean, VOTE for them.
Hok and Jaimie were one of the couples I was most worried about tonight. Why? Because this is the first time we are going to see Hok outside of his element. Last week he lucked out with a hip hop number and Jaimie did her best to keep up. This week they danced the Samba. They both seemed a bit sluggish and not all that light on their feet, especially Jaimie. Hok wasn’t as polished as he could be, but he’s a great performer and that definitely counts for something. Mia loved it and Mary and Nigel didn’t love it. Nigel continues to rip on the choreographers. Last week it was Shane Sparks and this week it was Jean Michael Generaux. Oh and if I never have to hear Jaimie speak again it’s fine by me. She is one of those girls whose voice rises at the end of the sentence like everything is a question? Like really? Ugh.

Here’s a FANTASTIC interview with THE OFFICE creator, Greg Daniels. It really offers you insight into the show’s development and some of the characters. A must read for Office fans. (Dead Things on Sticks)

For those of you who love classic TV but have no attention span then MySpace is going to hook you up with minisodes. Watch oldies but goodies like ‘Silver Spoons’ and ‘The Facts of Life’ in 3-5 minute minisodes. Really, this is necessary (BuzzSugar)
Jasmyne Cannick, a gay activist, has started a petition to bring Isaiah Washington back to GREY’S ANATOMY claiming that Isaiah’s dismissal was a form of racism. Really? The most racially diverse show on TV today are racists? (dListed)
Hilary and Bill Clinton are up on pop culture. Check out their spoof of THE SOPRANOS finale. Seeing that it’s Bill and Hilary, it’s actually pretty funny (TV with MeeVee)
Yesterday came news of the bobbleheads and the dundies. Today we get word that a new THE OFFICE video game is being released. Players have to handle jobs and play pranks at Dunder Mifflin, and bonus points for each minute of the game you can keep Jim and Pam apart despite their red hot lust for each other (ok kidding on the last part). Finally a video game where I can kick a little ass. Do you think if we win we are rewarded with a Casino Night smooch? (Seat42f)
It’s hard to say goodbye to GILMORE GIRLS, but every great departing show deserves a good eulogy. (The TV Addict)
Last week we found out what Fall shows some TV bloggers were most interested in seeing. Now find out which Fall falls some of us are dreading. Read on to find out what bloggers don’t want to see. (MeeVee)
From VERONICA MARS demise to Coral’s coming out party, Pajiba’s Trade Round-Up in a must read. (Pajiba)
This one is a little bit of a stretch in terms of TV news, but I’ll try. Katie Homes was once of THE CREEK. Now she’s married to Tom Cruise, a man whom I find more and more creepy each day. That being said, these pics of Cruise and their daughter Suri are precious. Suri started off adorable (although she was airbrushed in her early pics so we don’t really know), then she got a little creep looking, but she’s back to being cute again. So yeah, a one degree seperation from The Creek makes this TV news, right? (Seriously? OMG! WTF?!)

There’s no doubt that I will be seeing this movie on opening day, but if I’m being honest I wasn’t sure how funny it would be. I knew I would be enjoying the “visuals”, but would I be laughing? Well, I will say that after seeing more of the film in last night’s behind the scenes take, I’m more excited than ever. I think it’s going to be a fun and funny movie. And JKras…seriously? Seriously.
