An X Games Miracle – Jake Brown Video
August 3, 2007 by Kath Skerry
It’s video day here on GMMR. Sorry, but I had to post this one.
Someone just passed along this AMAZING video of pro-skateboarder Jake Brown making an unbelievable jump during a recent X Games competition only to have a horrific fall. And SPOILER ALERT he amazingly walks away unscathed. You have to see it to believe it.

Thanks to Becky for the tip.

Yeah, i watch the X Games every year and always expect to see some heavy falls and crashes but they always have me freaking out anyway. I was happy to see him get up from that horrible fall and to win second place also.
Un-freakin-believable… I got the CHILLS watching that video and despite the spoiler alert (which thankfully you spoiled) I was almost in tears as they were working on him… Holy cow. Those guys deserve massive amounts of credit for putting their lives on the line like that.
I’m sure he isn’t feeling too good right now- i’m suspecting a possible concussion and at least a little bruising, but holy moley…
I was literally stunned into absolute speechlessness when this happened. He apparently has bruises to his lungs and liver, and fractures in his hand and (I think) stress fractures in a few of his vertebra. He saved himself, though, and how he managed to break his fall (feet, butt, back) like they teach parachuters was either some quick thinking, or just damn good luck.
I’m so glad he’s gonna be okay, though- he landed a 720 (HOLEYMOLEY)!
Unscathed huh? Are you nuts? Lacerated liver, bleeding from the lungs and two fractures. Still in hospital 2 days later. Get your facts right.
Nothing like leaving a rude comment with a fake email address. Considering he could have died I think relatively unscathed is a fair if not entirely accurate description. I saw only the video and didn’t hear anything more about it so I didn’t have all the facts. no need to be rude though.
i saw that on espn on friday…it’s crazy! i can’t believe he’s alive.
