Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

As hard as it is to believe, the two dancers who were eliminated this week from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE were actually eliminated last Thursday evening, and as powerful as the internet is, we weren’t able to find out who those two dancers were until the show aired tonight.
The one guy and one girl sent home tonight will have come thisclose to making the SYTYCD finals. I’m sure it’s got to be frustrating as all hell but they should be proud they made it this far.
Speaking of the finals…can you believe SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE is over next this week?! I’m soooo not emotionally ready to handle that yet. I feel like the season just started. This Wednesday is the final competition routines, then we vote, and on Thursday we crown America’s Favorite Dancer! We’ll give this year’s contestants a proper send off on Thursday here on Give Me My Remote. But before we do that we have to find out the final four competing next week.
Cat Deely has cleared out the studio audience (ha) and we are ready to reveal the guy and girl sent home.
Over 10 millions votes were cast and in the end it was…..
Lauren Gottlieb and Pasha Kovalev
So that means we will see Lacey Schwimmer, Danny Tidwell, Sabra Johnson, and Neil Haskell. WOW! WHAT A FINALE THIS IS GOING TO BE!!

This elimination was brutal for me (and I haven’t even watched it yet LOL). My two favorites gone! This finale does not excite me at all. In fact, I might just wait and watch Thursday when everyone comes back. Why do I get so worked up over reality TV shows?! LOL Damn you, America (and, yes, I can blame America because I voted my ass off!) I need to go move to Canada or England 😉
Carli, while I love my country, moving to Canada isn’t the solution. Every week I sit in front of the TV hoping that the American public got it right and knowing that I didn’t have a single vote. Last year that meant my girl Allison going home (and my crying like a baby) and this year it means a finale with Lacey. I want a girl to win, and I love my little Sabra so here’s hoping she takes the whole damn thing – please, please, for the love of a poor Canadian fan…

Boo. I was glad to see Lauren go, because although she’s an amazing dancer…I find her personality insanely irritating. Sorry, but I just can’t root for someone if I don’t personally like them. However, I’m angry that Danny has made it to the finale. He is an incredible technical dancer, but he doesn’t even compare to Neil or Pasha in ability to entertain me. Those two are sooo enthusiastic and really get into a character with every single routine; Danny doesn’t. Granted, he hasn’t been given choreography recquiring a big acting performance, but he hasn’t taken the quirks of a routine and ran with it – like Pasha and Neil have. I’m very sad that we won’t be seeing Pasha in the finale. Not to bash the technical rules of dance (I admire them!), but no matter how well versed you are at them, you can’t entertain me too much if you don’t show some personality.
🙁 I’m gonna miss my Pasha. 🙁 I guess I’ll be rooting for Sabra in the finale.
btw- the season is actually over THIS week, BOO!! wednesday is the performance night & thursday is the finale….at least we get one giant heap of the show this week, ha!
I have to admit that what most impressed me was the use of a Tom Waits song for the intro routine.
Other than that? I was glad that Cedric got the academy scholarship, I think Lacey’s outfits get skimpier every week, and I hope Sabra wins.
I figured Lauren would go home, but I would have rathered that Danny left over Pasha. I hope beyond hope that Lacey doesn’t win – all that hair tossing might give her whiplash. If it comes down in the end to either Sabra or Neil I’d say that’s one tought call!
I totally understand the elimination. Lauren is good but not better than the other girls, especially Sabra! Pasha is a great partner and entertainer but NOT a great solo dancer. Neil and Danny are just better dancers. Lacey does not seem as great to me as people say she is. SABRA SHOULD WIN!
If I’m being completely honest, I think this is a two person contest. I think it’s going to come down to Sabra and Danny with Sabra taking it all.

Sabra should win hands down, but all those strange Benji followers are intent on Lacey winning too. Neither are great technical dancers, but somehow never fail to get votes. Oh yeah, and those barely-there outfits don’t hurt, either…

I think Pasha should have been in the final 4 over Danny. Personally, I think that Danny is an amazing soloist. But I just don’t think he’s very good at the couples dances. There hasn’t been one of his dances that I truly loved… unlike both Pasha and Neil. I know that only 1 person can win so solos are important…. but clearly the couples dances are just as important!
Well, I’m prob one of the few people who hasn’t made up her mind yet who I want to win. (Since Pasha’s gone!) I’m not even sure that there is a true favorite to win it all at this point. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see….
I was shocked that I actually shed a tear! I don’t feel as invested this year over years past but…go team Sabra! Love her. I can’t wait to see all the final dances.
Bingo Billy!! –“strange Benji followers!” I loved Benji last year so I guess I’m one of those strange followers but I want Sabra to win this year! I like Lacey but out of the four finalists I’d put her last.
Does anyone know if by being told first that they were safe (Danny and Lacey) that this meant that they were the top vote getters? If so, I’m scared.
I so do not want that Lacey to win – I was a Benji fan but cannot stand that woman. I think Danny is an amazing dancer just not charismatic.
It comes down to Neil or Sabra for me and we need a woman to win. Sabra the little angel dancer all the way — remember to vote this week for your favorite (hopefully Sabra)!!!

I hope Lauren and Pasha fans transfer their votes to Sabra. I, too, worry that Benji fans will support Lacey (even though Benji was more entertaining) and girlies will vote for Neil because he’s hawt :::dripping with sarcasm:::
I’m with a lot of you! Though I think Danny is amazing, I am hoping for Sabra. It is a competition based on dance AND personality (not America’s best dancer, but America’s favorite dancer), and she is my favorite. Adorable, and she makes it look effortless. I want a girl to take it!
I too will miss Pasha–such a cutie!–and Lauren has grown on me, but I think it was right for her to go. Great top 4, but I too am not as emotionally invested as last year. Still a great show though.
