THE OFFICE = Happiness

From the moment I woke up this morning I’ve been in a particularly good mood. I’m still a little under the weather and I only slept about 2 hours last night, so my giddiness was a bit bizarre to say the least. Then I logged on to People.com and read that the first read through of Season 4 of THE OFFICE was today, and the cast is back in session filming on Monday. Suddenly it all made sense. Somewhere in Cali, at the end of a nothing-special street, the cast and crew of THE OFFICE gathered for the first time since probably late March. Just the thought of the cast of my favorite show being all together again is enough to make me happy.
This summer has been a bit of a break from THE OFFICE for me. I spend so much time during the TV season thinking about it, writing about it and talking about it that I thought it would be good to take a step back. There has not been one Thursday this whole summer where I haven’t received at least five emails asking if I have given up on OFFICE THURSDAY on GMMR – I haven’t, just taking a little hiatus. Have I found a new TV boyfriend to replace John Krasinski? No, but JKras and I needed a little “me” time so we can really appreciate each other. Nothing has changed, it just a summer break…I promise.
SpyMommy, SpyGrandpa & SpyBaby in L.A.

Talk about making my heart melt. Check out this adorable picture of former ALIAS stars Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber, along with Jen’s daughter, 20-month old Violet Affleck as they “strolled” through L.A. yesterday. It’s so nice to see that Jennifer and Victor have remained close since the filming of ALIAS ended. The two are so close that Victor officiated and was one of the only guests at the wedding of Affleck and Garner in 2005.Not to go against my Boston boy, but how perfect would it be to see Jack, Sydney and Vaughn reunited…sigh.
Volvo Casts THE OFFICE Star in Online Series

Craig Robinson, who plays the beloved Darryl, the warehouse foreman on THE OFFICE has another new gig this year. In addition to his role as a new series regular on the show, Robinson will be starring as a driving instructor in a web series for Volvo that will play on MSN.
According to iMediaConnection.com, the web series is the brainchild of Reveille, the production house behind “The Office.”
“We integrated aspects of Volvo’s marketing campaign into themes for the new show without bastardizing the concept or jeopardizing the story,” Howard Owens, managing director, co-head of domestic TV and head of digital at Reveille, told Reuters. “Volvo put no restrictions on us in terms of the kind of content we could make.”
“Mr. Robinson’s Driving School” is the third Reveille series to run on MSN. The company previously produced “Chef to the Rescue” with Kraft and “The Big Debate” with Cingular.
I’ll be sure to post more information on the web series as it is released.

It’s video day here on GMMR. Sorry, but I had to post this one.
Someone just passed along this AMAZING video of pro-skateboarder Jake Brown making an unbelievable jump during a recent X Games competition only to have a horrific fall. And SPOILER ALERT he amazingly walks away unscathed. You have to see it to believe it.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM Spoof on Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel seems to be getting my attention today. If you are a frequent watcher of Jimmy Kimmel then you know that he often ends his show by saying “Our apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time“. Last September after a segment highlighting the running gag and a lengthy introduction by Kimmel, Matt Damon appeared on the show, only to be turned away by Kimmel. Damon flipped out and the censors earned their money with the bleeps.
[gv data=”e5ZEAqZIem4″][/gv]
Jimmy’s joke continued when the show’s parking lot security guard, Guillermo, was sent to do red carpet interviews for the premiere of “Ocean’s 13”. He spent all night on the carpet and when Damon approached him to be interviewed he “ran out of time” (watch clip here). If you watched this year’s MTV Movie Awards then you might have heard host (and Kimmel’s girlfriend) Sarah Silverman end the show with her apologies to Matt Damon for running out of time. Good stuff all around.
But this is FANTASTIC!! Kimmel and Guillermo managed to bump Damon even from his own movie trailer. Check out hysterical trailer for THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM starring Matt Damon and Guillermo.

Jessica Collins Joins HEROES
August 3, 2007 by Kath Skerry
You have to wonder if the producers of HEROES get some sort of NBC door prize for having the biggest cast. I guess the bigger the cast, the easier it is to kill off our heroes from week to week. So who is the latest newbie? Her name is Jessica Collins, and some of you might know her from her role as Lizzie (Scott Wolf’s girlfriend) on the recently departed-resurrected-only to be departed again ABC show THE NINE.
Jessica will have a recurring role on HEROES playing Sophie, a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that is tracking all heroes.
Collins isn’t the only ex-NINEr we see on HEROES this season. As previous reported, Dana Davis has joined the cast of HEROES as Monica. Davis played Felicia, the daughter of Chi McBride‘s character on THE NINE.

T.G.I….what was the last letter again? Oh right, F for FRIDAY!! This was a tough week for me. Settling back on the East Coast after two weeks on the West, battling a flu, hardly sleeping at all. Quick, someone break out the violins. Ha! I’m happy to report that I’m feeling so much better and looking to spend some quality time out of my apartment this weekend. But even if I’m out, the TiVo will still be working (poor thing…I should buy it a present or something).
Dr. Who
In the conclusion to a two-part episode, the Doctor and Martha are in 1930s New York battling Daleks at their temporal origin.
Psych
Fake psychic (and real detective) Shawn tracks down his cop friend’s stolen car, but stumbles into something a little more complicated than grand theft auto.
Fallen
Part 1 of 3. An adaptation of Tom Sniegoski’s books about an orphan (Paul Wesley) who finds out on his 18th birthday that he’s a Nephilim—half-angel, half-man. (Note: I had never heard of FALLEN before I sat in on last week’s session at Comic-Con. But the show looks pretty interesting and I’m going to TiVo it tonight. And if you’re like me and start wracking your brain trying to figure out how you know actor Paul Wesley…he was Tommy, Amy Abbott’s druggie boyfriend on ‘Everwood’)
Audio from PUSHING DAISIES Comic-Con Panel

I’ve had quite the response to the PUSHING DAISIES information I’ve posted, which of course pleases me to no end. If you weren’t able to attend the Pushing Daisies panel at Comic-Con, my boy Ducky has got you hooked up. Ducky recorded the audio from the entire panel just for you (well I suppose his readers first, and then you).
Before you go on, I must tell you that I’ve listened to the audio and there are parts with an insane amount of screaming and yelling. I mean insane. And no, it wasn’t all Ducky and I (ok some of it was, but not all). But if you can handle it, it’s yours to listen to.
Click here to listen to the audio from the Pushing Daisies Comic-Con panel.
Also, if you are already a fan of the show, or assume you will be, then check out our friends over at ThePieMaker.com. The just launched a new site and forums dedicated to PUSHING DAISIES.

Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

UPDATE: Click here to find out who went home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (August 5th)
PREVIOUS POST
Tonight we are saying goodbye to one guy and one girl. But first we need to open up with a sick hip hop routine by Shane Sparks. Lauren took the lead in this piece, and let me tell you, if she danced this well in the actual competition she might be more beloved by the fans.
Week 7 Opening DanceNow it’s on to the business of the evening. It’s the solos and then the elimination.
- Sara – Someone she should tell her that presenting herself as a B-Girls is not the best approach. She should do more to show her versatility.
- Lacey – Too much walking around the stage and not enough dancing.
- Sabra – My love for her doesn’t allow me to say anything negative. She’s a little ball of fire.
- Lauren – Not a bad solo…but I’m still ‘eh about her. Probably not fair on my part but that’s ok.
- Neil – How does he not get dizzy with all that spinning? I’d probably throw up.
- Danny – Slick, cool and beautiful. All around the best solo by far.
- Dominic – WOW. Another amazing dance. He got a little caught up in the chair but it was impressive that I didn’t mind.
- Pasha – Shirtless and wielding a cape for a Paso Doble-inspired solo. Very nice.
(BF Travis and Jailbait Ivan, along with S1 winner Nick are in the hizzouse. Um, Jailbait…you and I need to have a talk about your style? That hair? What were you thinking? Call me tomorrow to discuss. I’m not mad, don’t worry, I can fix it.)
Ok it’s elimination time, to see who went home, continue reading after the jump.

Who Was Evicted from the BIG BROTHER House? (Spoilers)

Looking to find out who got evicted on the latest episode of BIG BROTHER? Check it out here: Who Got Evicted from BIG BROTHER?
PREVIOUS POST
Ah, another satisfying episode of BIG BROTHER 8. There’s this good feeling I get inside when everything goes just as I thought it would. I find comfort in knowing that Jen will always be a self centered biatch, Dick will always be a dick, Daniele and Nick will talk in grating baby voices to each other, Zach will be slimy, Jessica will be brainless (although she’s growing on me), Kail will be annoying, Dustin will be adorable (still loving him), Jameka will be “mmhhhmm’ing” and Eric will do as they people will him to.
Oh the Drama…
vs.
The biggest moment of the night (besides the eviction of course) was the big fight between Jen/Daniele/Dick and Nick. If you didn’t see tonight’s episode, check out the video I posted showing the uncut incident last week (rated M for language). It was nasty, and as much as I hate Jen I was really disappointed in Dick for pouring iced tea over her head. It almost crossed the line into the physical territory. Dick is such a bully, and you got to give it to Jen for standing strong against him. I would have been whimpering in the corner and begging to get out the house by now. She must really be desperate for the TV attention.
Amber is On My Last Nerve…
Amber is a conniving little wench. I’m sorry, but to pull out the tears (yet again) and act like she had no idea that Nick was going to be nominated, when she was the one that suggested that he be backdoored is BS. Then on the treadmill when she told him that there are people in this house that knew about the nomination but didn’t want to tell you, all the while implying that it wasn’t her. So wrong. That girl has some serious screws loose and I wish Dustin would wise up to it. It’s about time that he joined forces with Jameka to take over this game.
Jess – No So Brainless?
My bravo of the week has got to go to Brainless Jess. That girl has managed to stay so far under the radar of the houseguest that she’s a lock for at least a few more weeks. She doesn’t get into the drama, and she stays out of everyone’s business. She appears to be the quietest one in the house and has hit that balance of being social but not being too social. I’m not going to go as far as to say that she’s executing a strategy, but she’s playing the game well all the same.
America’s Player…
As America’s player, Eric had to vote Kail out this week. I personally wanted Nick to stay in the game, but I voted for Eric to evict Nick because that was strategically the right thing for Eric to do. If you want to keep playing along at home America, then you need to think about the tasks (and risks) you want Eric to take.
So just who was evicted from the BIG BROTHER house tonight? And who is this week’s new HOH? Find out after the break (ok, after the jump, but ‘after the break’ sounds much cooler, no?)
Somebody Medicate BIG BROTHER’s Amber…STAT

Even Tom Cruise would agree that someone needs to put BIG BROTHER 8 houseguest Amber on some meds. The girls is so frakkin’ emotional that I’m not sure how she gets through her everyday life. Bagels not on sale at the grocery store? Cry. Your steak was undercooked at the restaurant? Cry. I can’t even imagine what would happen if she actually spilled some milk. Amber should be grateful that her daughter is young and her classmates aren’t watching this show, because can you imagine how mortified she would be?? And the worst part…she’s an ugly cryer. U-G-L-Y! (Yes, I’m shallow).
Here’s some of my favorite Amber crying moments.

Playing TV Catch Up: MY BOYS, RESCUE ME, etc
August 2, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Filed under Entourage, My Boys, Rescue Me
After being a little under the weather since last Saturday, I feel like I’m finally coming out of my Sudafed-induced haze. And as the clarity takes over I’ve realized that there have been some key TV moments this week that we have yet to talk about. Please indulge me as I play a little TV catch-up.
MY BOYS
The first two episodes of the new season returned on Monday. MY BOYS isn’t perfect. The voice overs and baseball metaphors unfortunately carried over into this season, and although I’ve warmed up to Jordana Spiro (P.J.) I don’t love her as much as I love the guys. That being said, I am smitten with this show. At the end of last season I found myself completely caught-up in the season ending PJ/Brendan kiss and I loved the way it played out in the first episode. I see this will they/won’t they struggle playing itself out subtly through the course of the season, and I’m completely hooked on it. Jim Gaffigan has always been a bit overlooked as a comic, but he shines as PJ’s brother Andy. More Andy!! Actually, more of everyone. Hey TBS, how about planning a bloggers press day during which we can play poker at PJ’s before heading out to Crowley’s for a few beers. Best. Set. Visit.Ever!!
RESCUE ME – (SPOILER ALERT for last night’s show)
Sweet Lord above, did you see last night’s ending? I had my ears covered and a hand blocking my eyes. The idea that Tommy would even contemplate killing a baby let us know just how disturbed he is. Yet at the same time I almost believed that if he did it, he would have done it out of some completely F’d up sense of love. In my heart of hearts I knew that they wouldn’t go “there”, but then again, this is the same show that brought us the controversial “rape” scene last year.
Overall that was a simply pitch-perfect episode. If they don’t submit that ep next season for an Emmy then they are fools. And the beginning sequence with the fire and the kids?! RESCUE ME is so raw and harsh sometimes, and then they throw in scenes like that that remind you what this show is all about – the everyday hero that is the firefigher. Amazing television.
