MAD MEN Marathon on AMC Sunday
September 2, 2007 by Kath Skerry
If you are like me and have been kicking yourself that you missed the boat on MAD MEN this summer then you’re in luck. AMC will be showing the first seven episodes of MAD MEN starting today at 9AM. One of the best reviewed shows of this summer, MAD MEN follows the life of New York City ad executives back in the 1960s.
I’ve heard nothing but good things abotu this show and I’m so excited to finally see what everyone is talking about. My TiVo is set and I suggest you do the same. If you plan on catching up on MAD MEN today or if you’re already a fan, let me know.

I’m watching it right now.
I’ve wanted to watch this show ever since it started airing, but my husband hijacked the TV every time it was on. I watched the whole marathon today and I am totally hooked. Everything is impeccably done from the fantastic writing, costuming, and cast.
This is my latest TV obsession. It is so layered that multiple viewings are recommended. Love this show. BTW, AMC puts the eps up on On Demand and so you can find it there as well.
There’s a lot of talk around this show that things have changed so much since then. I say yes and no… homophobia, chauvinism, and anti-semitism are now politically incorrect as well they should be. And certainly few children run around with dry cleaning bags over their heads. But, personally knowing of men who have trophy wives and ‘girls on the side’, I don’t think things have changed as much as they need to.
Kath, I might have missed this somewhere, but are you going to The Office Convention??
Kath-
My husband and I have been watching Mad Men from Day One. No, we’re not that smart–the brilliant TV critic for the SF Chronicle highly recommended it, so we checked it out and love it! I’m glad you’re catching up on it as well. If I may, I’d say the other fabulous show you missed this summer is Flight of the Conchords on HBO (available OnDemand). Genius!
I caught up on Mad Men on Sunday and LOVED it. It is so well done and very different from anything else out there today. It’s also available on iTunes for anyone who might have missed the marathon on AMC.
I agree with the previous comment about Flight of the Conchords – different, hilarious, and pure genius!
Damn–I thought the marathon starts today at 5. I hope i haven’t missed it.
