A Gilmore Girl Returns to TV

One of TV’s finest, yet woefully unacknowledged actresses, Lauren Graham, is returning to TV soon (we hope). The former star of GILMORE GIRLS has struck an exclusive one year talent and deal with NBC.  Is Ben Silverman trying to get on my good side?

The deal was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, and Marc Hirschfeld, Executive Vice President, Casting.

“Lauren Graham is a fantastic actress and brilliant comedic voice. She’s so respected in the industry and is a huge get for us. She’s sure to be one of our next big NBC stars and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with her.” said Silverman.

“I cast Lauren on ‘NewsRadio,’ ‘3rd Rock from the Sun’ and ‘Seinfeld’ early on in her career,” added Hirschfeld. “I’ve been pursuing her aggressively for the past several years after her outstanding work on “Gilmore Girls.” She truly is a gifted television comedy star and we are thrilled to have her back on NBC.”

“I’m thrilled and flattered to be working with NBC. I am impressed by Ben Silverman’s taste and vision for the network, and grateful to have had Marc Hirschfeld’s support over the years. Also, after having spent so many years representing the frog on The WB, I am especially comforted to be part of the only other network with an animal mascot.”

Welcome back Lorelai Gilmore!! May a new show on a new network bring you all the accolades and mega-stardom you so deserve.

This is such great news! I can’t wait to see what kind of show Lauren will make her return in. She is my favorite TV actress (next to Jenna Fischer, of course). Since she has this deal with NBC now anyone think she might make an appearance on The Office, like she had talked about with Steve Carell in an interview over the summer when they were promoting Evan Almighty? 🙂

I would just die if LG was on The Office? Could you imagine??? But I doubt it would happen. Too good to be true.

I could see her on 30 Rock…that would be somethin’.

I’m so excited for her! She’s one of my favorite actresses. I think it would be great if she made an appearance on either 30 Rock or The Office! But I’m looking forward to whatever she gets to do.

If LG was on The Office, I think it would cause a huge rift in the space-time continuum – it would basically rock my world, and may cause me to hyperventilate. TO/GG already have a crazy amount of actors/related actors in common, So LG on TO would be, in the words of Kelly, basically everything that is awesome.

Yes! YES! This news seriously made my night. Lauren is awesome and amazingly talented. I am still in disbelieve that she never got acknowledged by the Emmys. She brought Lorelai Gilmore to life in a serious way. Can’t wait to see what she gets cast in! Hopefully being on NBC will give her a little more edge for the critics.

I’d love to see Lauren and Matthew Perry in some sort of dramedy together. I thought Matthew was sorely underused in Studio 60 and I miss his comedic talent. It doesn’t have the be the Lorelai and Chandler Bing show, but something that showcases them both.

The finish line is just the beginning of a whole new race.
