A Short Break in Programming
November 6, 2007 by Kath Skerry
UPDATE: Thanks for all your well wishes! Little Jake was FINALLY born last night and mom & baby are doing just fine!
I know there is a lot of TV to still talk about (Prison Break, Heroes, HIMYM) but I’ll be honest, I’m a bit distracted. One of my closest friends, Jessica, has had it rough the past few days on her way to being a first time Mommy. She’s been in the hospital for the past few days and she’s slowly inching towards the home stretch. I’ll be back to updating GMMR as soon as I can, but for now I was hoping that if you had an extra good thought today you could send it to my friend Jess.
Let’s get this kid here already so we can meet him…or her!!

Hey Jessica. I don’t know you but I wish you all the best! I have two of my own and they can be a pain (no pun intended) to bring into this world. Good luck.
Best of luck Jessica. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Best of luck to you Jessica. Hopefully you’re on a super nice epidural and are just waiting for the baby to come. I’ve been there, it’s not easy, but think about the fact that you’ll have an amazing birth story to tell you child some day and you can always give him/her grief about the days of labor he/she caused you when they are not behaving. Guilt can be a very useful tool.
Seriously, I hope all turnes out well and I’ll be sending positive thoughts in your direction.
You guys are the best, thanks!
Ps 127:3 “Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him.”
I wil pray that your child will be delivered healthy and soon. And that as you look back on this time you will see what a blessing it was to become a mother. Congratulations!
Jessica,
I know the pain my be excruciating and the stress unbearable but just remember that someone way down in Texas who’s never met you before, never seen a picture of you, or knows anything about you, is thinking and praying for you. Internet is a marvelous invention, non?
Best of luck. And remember. epidurals are the keys to happiness
Hang in there Jess honey! It’s going to be Okay. You can do this. 🙂 and yeah…. ditto on that epidural stuff 😉
The pain and tears will be worth it when you get to hold your baby for the first time! Good luck! (also, if it’s a girl you should totally nickname her Starbuck, sounds like she’s full of sass)
Are ya kiddin……No baby yet!!!!!! Wow this little one has been holdin out of a while( obviously she doesn’t take after mommy) Just kiddin Jess! I have been thinking about you for the past couple of days. Hang in there kid it’s all worth it in the end.

Good luck Jess! It is worth it later on, love the epidural while you can! Wishing you lots of luck!
The best of luck to you Jessica, Hubby and new baby! I don’t know you but I will make sure to keep you in my prayers tonight.
Yeah! Baby Murph has arrived! Knowing you as I do, Jess, it does not surprise me in the least that this kid is a pain in the ass before he even comes out. Congrats, sweetie! And long labors make for great “Do you know what I went through to bring you into this world?” stories.
Good luck, Jessica. You can do it! It can feel like such a long road when all you want is to hold that tiny baby, but it will be well worth the wait, I promise!!
HOOOOORAY!!! Welcome baby Jake! Congratulations to Jessica and her family.
Welcome to the world baby Jake! Congratulations Jessica and Daddy too! 🙂
