TV Showrunners Show Solidarity
November 7, 2007 by Kath Skerry
In a show of solidarity, 75 of TV’s top showrunners will joining their fellow Writers Guild members on the picket line at the Disney/ABC Studios in Burbank today from 9-11am PST.
If you are in the area (West Alamda Avenue between Buena Vista & Keystone) stop by and let the writers know you support them.
Here’s a great video that breaks down what the WGA is fighting for in a very simple way.

Thanks for posting this GMMR…I have supported and will continue to support the writers, but it’s nice to get a simple presentation of what they are actually striking for.
I definitely think it’s great that these showrunners and a number of actors, especially The Office cast, are supporting the writers by joining in on the strike. However, I did see an article on TVGuide.com about how Eva Longoria went to work on set yesterday to film an already written Desperate Housewives episode and the striking writers were angry with her. While I definitely support what The Office cast decided to do, I also don’t think it was wrong for Eva Longoria to make the decision to fulfill her own contractual obligation as an actor. I guess it just goes to show what a tricky situation a number of actors, even actors who are not writers themselves, are in with this whole situation. Let’s just hope it gets resolved sooner rather than later.
It just makes me so sad that these networks are so greedy as to not want to give the writers what they are worth.
I agree. Thank you for posting these videos. Let’s hope they come to their senses soon.
