Calling All JOURNEYMAN Fans – URGENT!!

Journeyman

If you are a fan of the NBC show JOURNEYMAN than it is muy importante that you watch the show LIVE tonight.  Like many of you, I usually record JOURNEYMAN on my DVR and watch it the next morning, but tonight we can’t do that.  According to this report from Zap2It, there are rumblings that NBC might pull the plug on the Freshman drama and not air the remaining episodes if the ratings aren’t their tonight.  And they aren’t looking at the DVR ratings.  This rumor hasn’t been confirmed by NBC but let’s not risk it.I don’t know about you, but I seem to see a lot more advertising for the NBC bomb BIONIC WOMAN than I do Journeyman. As a friend pointed out to me, most of the Journeyman ads encourage viewers to watch the show on NBC.com (and give NBC the advertising dollars that they won’t share with the writers? Yeah, no.). If you’re going to give up on show then drop Bionic and give Journeyman a fair shot.

Watch Journeyman tonight at 10pm on NBC.

What I don’t understand is, how do they know I’m not watching it “live” while at the same time recording it? Do they somehow know whether my tv is on and whether I’m in front of it?

I agree, there’s too much promotion for BW, not enough for Journeyman. I really hope this show doesn’t go away. It, like Pushing Daisies, is one of the new shows I actually look forward to watching each week.

Brad, I had the same question. I usually record all my shows whether I’m home or not. Sometimes I am there watching live and still recording. How do they know?

Networks aren’t actually using TiVo/DVR data for ratings yet are they? If they aren’t, that means watching live would only help if you’re doing it through a Nielsen’s box.

And I watch over the air in HD. I don’t think my watching it helps at all. Damn you Nielsen’s rating system. I will really be sad if Journeyman is cancelled.

Too bad. The Journeyman time slot has been a graveyard on NBC. Studio 60 (yes that show had its problems) and Friday Night Lights (for an episode or two) last year and now Journeyman falling victim to the acting ability of David Caruso.

    Sometimes I don’t get TV viewers, I really don’t.

    I hope Journeyman survives.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you only matter if you have a Nielsen box, correct? So no one cares whether I watch it live tonight.
And ya know what? Journeyman has four already-made episodes left to air. According to Zap2it.com, it is only getting two more chances to miraculously gain viewers, before it is pulled, and the remaining episodes lost. I hate that. I expect better than that from NBC.
And don’t their online airings have advertisements? Oh, but that’s right… it’s only “promotional”… stupid executives.

Gah. I love Journeyman and this is totally depressing.

I was so looking forward to Journeyman when I saw the promos over the summer, then started reading so-so reviews before the season started and almost didn’t tune in. So glad I gave this show a chance! It’s fun, interesting, and I love all the time travel stuff…changing the past, affecting the future. I’ve been a faithful follower since day one and hope they give this show a chance!

no, no, no! this is so depressing….I hope this show survives, as it is one of my favorite this season.

Well after tonight’s episode it said there would be a new episode in 2 weeks, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

One quick question: I always hear “write the network” if you don’t like what they’re doing, etc. Who specifically could I write at NBC to show my support for this show? What’s the best approach? Can anyone speak to this?? I get the feeling this show is finding its rhythm and it would be a shame to see it shut down.
