Title: “Trust Issues”
Original Airdate: 11.14.07
GMMR Recapper: Jo
Jaime runs a lot. In not-good-for-running shoes. You’d think the bionic knees would object. I’m just saying.
B! Whiny sister wants to cook Jaime and Tom a dinner. They’ve got their cover stories so in sync, it’s too obvious. But Jaime has to leave and surprise so does Tom. Ah, spy love.
Speaking of spy love, Burke thinks that Jaime should just give up on Tom now. Jaime tries to ignore the advice until she finds two CIA operatives hanging outside her apartment. Checking up on an agent’s girlfriend is protocol. Aw, like how you tried to slip that one in there, man. Tom also chews her out over not being properly equipped for a mission. And I got to side with him on this one. She and Chuck both need to be packing. C’mon big gov’t agencies can’t trade the newbies?
First Look: PROJECT RUNWAY Premieres Tonight

“Make it work!”
How I can’t wait to hear Tim Gunn utter those words later tonight on the season four premiere of PROJECT RUNWAY. I’m more of a fashion victim than a fashionista, but for some reason I really love this show.
I know this sounds odd, but I’ve been avoiding spoilers of any kind. Last year I felt I was a little ruined because I knew too much about the designers going into it and I found that I was already hating on a few of them before the season even started. So I’m pretty much spoiler free going into tonight.
We’ll be talking Project Runway on GMMR so if you’re a fan and plan on watching let me know.
Here’s a sneak peek at a scene from tonight’s episode airing at 10pm on Bravo.
‘Welcome to My Home’ – Funniest Video Ever!!!

Last night as I was hopping around this little world wide web of ours I came across a New York Magazine article that asked celebrities what their favorite YouTube videos were. Among the celebs queried was my frienemy, Rashida Jones. She made mention of a video called ‘Welcome to My World’ by former The Young and the Restless star, Brenda Dickson – here’s what Rashida had to say”
“You have to go home and watch it right now. She was on The Young and the Restless in the seventies and eighties. She produced a video by herself, introducing you into her life and sort of showing you how to dress like her and eat like her and work out like her. It is so well produced, without irony. It is pitch-perfect eighties. She is literally facing a wall in between a mirror and a painting, just facing a wall in a gold gown, and she turns around, ‘Well, hello! I’m Brenda Dickson. Lots of people ask me how I look as good as I do after eleven and a half years on The Young and the Restless.’ It’s insane! It’s so entertaining.”
Well since I dare not defy any advice coming from the lovely Ms. Jones, I headed over to YouTube and checked this out for myself. And when I tell you this video is pure GOLD, I’m not kidding. Actually gold lame, but somehow still classy!
I know this isn’t exactly TV, but there is no way I could not share this with all of you. It’s simply amazing!
‘Welcome To My Home’ (Parts 1 & 2)
My friend Steph just sent along this ‘Welcome to My Home’ parody which is also hysterical (WARNING!! The language and subject matter may be offensive to some)
CHUCK Recap: Chuck vs. The Truth

I’m so glad SB loved this week’s episode of CHUCK as much as I did. I mean we had Summer Roberts and Marshall Flinkman…can you ask for more? Zachary Levi is absolutely charming and he brings so much warmth and honesty to the show. Seeing Rachel Bilson this week gave me the warm fuzzies, but I don’t want to see Chuck and Sarah end their fauxmance. How do we get this fake twosome back together? Well, I’m getting ahead of myself…SB, I turn it over to you.
Episode: “Chuck vs. The Truth”
Original Airdate: 11.12.07
GMMR Recapper: SB
Well, I must say that I enjoyed my Tuesday recapping reprieve, but I am not looking forward to when all my shows, including Chuck, go off the air, which is why I support the WGA along with GMMR, and I love that the TV bloggers decided to have a day of solidarity with no new content. For me, the writers are the most important part of television. There will always be plenty of actors and directors and producers who can get the job done, but without writers, what job is there to do? Without writers, there would be no Chuck, no The Office, no It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or Battlestar Galactica or Supernatural or any of my other favorites. Without writers, there is Age of Love, and we all saw what a disaster that was.
Anyway, I was in love with this episode of Chuck. So we start out with a guy wanting some super secret codes or something (even more secret than up-down-up-down-A-B-select-start?) and poisoning the person who knows where they are, and when that guy returns with the codes, the first guy will give him the antidote. Pretty standard, awesome spy stuff! Meanwhile, I know that all over the internet, there was discussion about how this guy was on Alias (GMMR note: Yup, he was the beloved Marshall Flinkman), which I have regrettably not seen. I hear it sucks after Season Three, but I find that if Dwight Schrute likes a television show, I pretty much do too. I do, however, have my own soft spot for this guy, because he is the Lord of the Rings fan from Clerks II who puked when Randall made fun of it too hard. Loved that. Long story short, the guy with the codes ends up dying, but not before Ellie sees him on the street and rushes into doctor mode and tries to save him. Before he loses consciousness, he slips the codes (which are, inexplicably, on a necklace) into her sweater pocket. The Poisoner comes to her house dressed as a cop and—surprise!—poisons her with pentathol, which will make her really honest for awhile and then lose consciousness and die. Dum dum dummmmm! Also, I just looked up pentathol on the internet (and whatever the internet says is true), and it does seem to have some roots in fact so that’s pretty cool.
Something to Ponder

One word and that word is “UGH”.
“If this strike lasts longer than three months, an entire season of television will end this December. No dramas. No comedies. No Daily Show. The strike will also prevent any pilots from being shot in the spring, so even if the strike is settled by then, you won’t see any new shows until the following January. As in 2009. Both the guild and the studios we are negotiating with do agree on one thing: this situation would be brutal.”

TV’s Sexiest Men

People Magazine released its annual Sexiest Man Alive issue today and a few of our TV faves made the sexy cut. Matt Damon might have been the cover boy and People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2007 but he had a little competition from the boys of the small screen.
No big shocker that Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey was among the top faves. The guy’s on-screen nickname is McDreamy for goodness sake. But it was nice to see some other TV hotties like Brothers & Sisters star Dave Annable, The Office’s Rainn Wilson, Penn Badgely of Gossip Girl, Chuck star Zach Levi and Entourage’s Adrienne Grenier mentioned as well.
The issue hits stands today but you can head over to People.com and check out a few of the scorching pics and see a few behind the scenes videos from the photoshoots. There’s also a 100 Sexy Men in 1 Minute video and I’m hoping that these are also the men that made the cut because a few of my TV boyfriends were spotted.
Ellen Pompeo Married

Congratulations to GREY’S ANATOMY star Ellen Pompeo who married her long time love, music executive Chris Ivery at New York’s City Hall on Friday. The do had vowed (no pun intended) to have a low key wedding rather than a lavish Hollywood shindig. According to Pompeo’s spokesperson, “They are over the moon.”
The wedding was a real Boston affair. Ellen who hails from Everett, MA, and Chris from Revere, MA were joined during the ceremony by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who is originally from Medford, MA. Red Sox star Big Papi walked the bride down the aisle and Celtics legend Larry Bird officiated the ceremony. Ok I’m lying about Papi and Bird but how cool would that have been?
Congrats Ellen!!! Enjoy your honeymoon on the picket line!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on ESPN?
November 14, 2007 by Kath Skerry
According to Radar Online there are some rumblings that NBC may be sharing its very best drama, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, with ESPN. According to Radar’s sources ESPN ” is in talks to bring the flagging Texas-based show into its original programming stable”. This deal couldn’t be confirmed by NBC or ESPN so the details, if there are any, are scare.
If this were to happen, FNL wouldn’t be the first scripted drama on ESPN. A few years back you may remember the ill-fated (and horribly acted) ESPN original drama, “Playmakers” (then again you probably don’t remember it).
I’ll be keeping my eye out on this one, but I know one guy over at ESPN that would be happy if this were true.
Speaking of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS…
How good was this past week’s episode. Once again each and every actor was superb and the storylines continue to be the best on TV. Another standing O this week for Jesse Plemmons who is showing that Landry was wasted in his role as Matt Saracen’s sidekick last season. What he is bringing to that character each and every week is just amazing. Plemmons should be right up there with Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler at Emmy time.
I’m not really loving Tami’s sister visiting Dillon. I think she’s annoying and she’s only going to cause a rift between Eric and Tami. And why oh why do I think that she will somehow end up in bed with Riggins? He does have a track record of bedding older women. Let’s hope that now that the Coach is back in Dillon full time, Tami’s sister won’t have to be (I can’t remember her name, and I don’t like her enough to look it up.)
It’s easy for me to gush over this near flawless show. For more on my thoughts on this week’s episode of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, check out the latest GMMR|Ducky Does TV Podcast here.

GMMR SUPPORTS THE WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA

Comments Off on GMMR SUPPORTS THE WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA
We at GiveMeMyRemote.com support the WGA and its members to be fairly compensated for the work they create. TV as we know it has and will be affected and you should understand why. Throughout history Unions have fought for rights they believe in and have helped shape some of the rights and basic ways of life they we enjoy without notice everyday.
I understand that it’s hard for some to garner sympathy for those who some think are living the glamorous life, but I urge you to educate yourself on the issues, and the facts and understand that the WGA is not made up of just millionaires living the dream but more so by writers, who like most of us, are just trying to support their families.
Whether you agree or disagree with the issues at hand please know this – television is a vital part of not only our history and culture but also our economy. This strike is affecting much more than the writers but also every single person working in television – in front of and behind the camera. GMMR hopes for a quick resolution for all involved.
If you would like more information about the issues at hand and the latest news from the WGA, I encourage you to check out the following sources:

Support the Writers – Be Heard & Take Action!!
Fans can have a profound impact on these negotiations. At the end of the day the two sides can argue all they want, but without the fans sitting at home watching the programming neither side would have much about or for. There are things that we as TV viewers can start doing immediately to help support the WGA.
- Immediately STOP watching all TV shows offered by the networks over at NBC.com, ABC.com, CBS.com, Fox.com, etc. The internet and the “new media” is at the heart of the issue. The writers are not seeing one single cent from the revenue earned from the ads you see as you watch your favorite shows online.
- Resist the urge to watch the replacement reality shows that the networks are going to force on us in light of this work stoppage. I am not saying abandon all reality shows but I do ask that you avoid the new reality programming that will be coming our way in the next few months.
- WRITE! – THEY CAN’T SO WE SHOULD!!! Our friends at the WGA have said that fans of television can help support their cause by contacting the networks and demanding that they return to the negotiating table. While you have the pen to paper, please take a moment to inform the networks that you want to see more quality scripted television. Here are the addresses for the big four networks.

TV Bloggers Go Dark in Solidarity with the Writers Guild of America
November 13, 2007 by Kath Skerry
On November 13th, this blog and the blogs listed below will be on strike for the day in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America. As fellow writers and as TV fans, we are coming together to express our strong support for the writers and their goals. We believe that when a writer’s work makes money for a company, that writer deserves to be paid.
Many writers depend on residuals for a stable income, and that income shouldn’t be based on an outdated formula which ignores the existence of new media and all but a tiny percentage of DVD sales. The talented writers responsible for so much of what we love about television should and must be paid fairly and equitably, and we will stand with them until they reach that goal. For everyone’s sake, and for the sake of television, we hope both sides can come to an agreement quickly.
To further that goal, we are calling on our readers to sign this petition and to contact the following television networks, voicing support for the writers and for a return to the negotiating table:
ABC
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521
(818) 460-7777FOX

100 Universal City Plaza
Universal City, CA 91608

After the blackout, we intend to continue our campaign to support the WGA until the dispute has been resolved fairly. Since we will not be posting any new content on the 13th, we encourage our readers to visit United Hollywood instead for frequent updates about the strike.

Oops – The Internet Bites the Networks in the Ass
November 12, 2007 by Kath Skerry
Many of the networks have been fighting YouTube since Day One because they aren’t able to monetize their content on the site. Here’s another reason they should be against YouTube…it allows their words to come back and bite them in the ass.
Interesting how the networks and the moguls are claiming that “new media” (aka digital content, the internet etc) is just too new to properly understand the economic impact.
Check out the video below. Are these network moguls lying to the WGA, the viewers or perhaps their stockholders?
