“Pushing Daisies” & “Friday Night Lights” Among AFI’s Faves

Two of GMMR’s favorites, PUSHING DAISIES and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS have received the honor of being named to the American Film Institutes list of Top Ten programs of 2007. Awarded to the creative ensembles behind some of the best shows on TV, the AFI’s honor excellence in American film and TV.
Joining Pushing Daisies and Friday Night Lights in the top ten are “Dexter,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Longford,” “Mad Men,” “The Sopranos,” “Tell Me You Love Me,” “30 Rock” and “Ugly Betty.”
The AFI honors, which recognizes the entire creative ensemble behind the show, will be presented on January 11th in Los Angeles.

Great to see FNL and Pushing Daisies on the list, as well as 30 Rock. I’m especially happy to see FNL be on the list again this year. I haven’t watched Everybody Hates Chris this season (Mondays were way too busy) but I’ve liked the show in the pas. I didn’t know what Longford is, though.
Of course I still think The Office is the best show out there so I’m sad it wasn’t on the list, but I do understand that a lot of people didn’t think last season and this season were as strong as in the past. Season 2 was pretty much perfection though, so it’s hard to compare – but I still contend that The Office is better on a weekly basis than just about most anything else out there.
