CHUCK Recap: Chuck vs. The Crown Vic

Episode: “Chuck vs. The Crown Vic”
Original Airdate: 12.03.07
GMMR Recapper: SB

Ugh, you guys, I am so mad that this was the last Chuck (and Heroes and everything else) for awhile. And then they go and throw it in my face at the end that we’ll see Chuck again in 2008 … they hope. I know they were referring to “if Casey doesn’t kill him,” but it still seemed like such an evil little “wink, wink”. Just when you think you can’t hate the promo department any more …

Anyway, not my favorite episode but an okay one, with a little cliffhanger action. Although I really think that if there had to be a mid-season break (sigh), last week’s might have been better to go out on. In a nut shell: Buy More Christmas Party; Morgan meets Anna’s parents; Chuck, Sarah, and Casey go to a charity casino night to spy on some smuggler; Sarah flirts with bad guy to get info; Chuck gets jealous; Chuck gets a flash; things go awry and Sarah and Casey get benched; Chuck figures out that the goods are on a boat with Morgan and Anna and is going to be blown up; Sarah and Chuck and Casey save the day. Whew. Onward.

HEROES “Generations” Finale: Powerless

Heroes

Betrayal, blood curing, dead heroes among us – it was all there in last night’s episode of HEROES, the season finale of Volume 2: Generations, and mostly likely the last episode of 2007.  Say what you will, but I don’t think you can say last night’s ep was boring.  Infuriating perhaps, but boring – no.

On a morning where I curse having to go to the office instead of writing a full recap, I thought I would leave you with these questions to ponder and comment on:

In a world where nothing is as it appears, will the dead stay dead?  Did they really kill of Nathan Petrelli for good? Say it ain’t so!! And what about Nikki?  Could she withstand the explosion? (Dare I dream). And what’s to come of Adam being buried alive? Will Elle embrace her days of unicorns and rainbows and leave the dark side for good? Who the hell shot Nathan?

I can’t apologize enough for not writing a full recap this morning. One of these days I’ll hit the lottery and quit my job and do nothing but blog, blog, blog…but until then I turn it over to you. What did YOU think of last night’s finale of HEROES?  Did it make up for the beginning of the season or were you once again disappointed?

If you missed last night’s episode, here’s a recap from my friends over at TV Squad and check out Ducky’s take on last night episode

Tell Me What To Watch…December 4, 2007

December 4, 2007 by

Tuesday night is usually my easy night for TV.  Having all but given up on REAPER after the first 4 or 5 episodes, my Tuesday night was all about HOUSE.  Sadly for me, House and the gang are on vacation until January, so I’m left with a pretty empty Tuesday.  So I thought I would let you know what’s on and you can tell me what I should be watching tonight.

Remember, I’m at a hotel with no TiVo so I can only watch one show at a time and I only have so many channels to choose from.

8pm

  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer | CBS
  • America’s Funniest Home Videos | ABC (r)
  • The Biggest Loser | NBC
  • Beauty and the Geek | The CW
  • Bones | Fox (r)

9pm

  • NCIS | CBS (r)
  • According to Jim | 9pm (r)
  • Reaper | The CW
  • House | 9pm (r)

10pm

  • Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show | CBS
  • Boston Legal | ABC
  • Law & Order: SVU (r)

Reminder! Sneak Peek: THE CLOSER Special 2-Hour Event

December 3, 2007 by

Don’t forget that THE CLOSER holiday special is on tonight at 8/7c on TNT.

In holiday themed episode, called “Next of Kin”, when a gang robbing armored-cars kills two guards, pursuit of a suspect leads Brenda and Fritz home for the holidays. Calling on Flynn and Provenza for support, Brenda must juggle her parents’ desire to spend Christmas as a family with that of her mission: obtaining a confession from her murderer and stopping his gang from killing again. Brenda’s unorthodox balancing act involves the federal Do-Not-Fly list, a long trip in an RV, missing Perry Como CDs and some questionable tactics that could, potentially, lead to deadly consequences on Christmas Eve.

So Say We All (Well at Least YOU): Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters

If you were lucky enough to watch last night’s episodes of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES or BROTHERS & SISTERS and want to chat all about it, feel free.  Sadly (and I mean that sincerely) I wasn’t able to catch either as I was in a deep sleep by the time they aired here on the West Coast. With no TiVo, and unable to watch the shows online due to the writers strike, I’m left with nothing but your comments to let me know all about last night’s episodes.  So I guess it’s YOUR turn to be the blogger.  Fill me in!!

What to Watch…Monday, December 3, 2007

It’s about 3:45am here on the West Coast, and yup, I’m wide awake!!  I tried my best to stay up as late as I could last night but after an 8.5 hour plane ride I was just beat.  I figured I could at least get today’s Watchlist up before trying to go back to bed.  My prediction – exhaustion will kick in around 6:20am PST – just about 10 minutes before the alarm will go off.

I won’t be watching a ton tonight as I’m limited to one show at a time without a DVR in my hotel room.  Lucky for me, most of the shows are in reruns tonight…what will YOU be checking out?

Chuck | 8pm on NBC
Chuck (NBC)“Chuck Versus the Crown Vic”
Chuck poses as Sarah’s husband to take down a counterfeiting yachtsman with strong political ties. Back at Buy More, the staffers take part in the store’s annual holiday party, but the event comes with strict guidelines from Big Mike.

Heroes | 9pm on NBC
“Powerless”
Peter finds himself in another showdown, this time in Texas, where he squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus. Elsewhere, Micah asks his mother to help him rescue Monica. This is the last episode of Chapter 2: “Genesis” so I’m expecting something pretty spectacular tonight.

Also Playing…

  • K-Ville | 9pm on Fox
  • Tin Man (episode 2) | 9pm on Sci Fi
  • Life | 10pm on NBC
  • Monday Night Football: Patriots vs. Ravens | 8pm on ABC

Mondays…they aren’t for TV amateurs! What will you be watching tonight?GMMR’s daily “What to Watch” is powered by MeeVee’s interactive TV listings.

GMMR Flashback: Neil Patrick Harris & Jason Segel Sing Les Miserables on “Megan Mullally”

This is a video that I posted one year ago yesterday, but it was so funny that I wanted to post it again for those of you who missed it the first time around.

Original Post: November 30, 2006
I’m feeling pretty lousy today – just lounging on my couch feeling sorry for myself with a box of kleenex and some Sudafed. I forced myself to watch the usually horrible Megan Mullally Show because the cast of How I Met Your Mother was on, and well, I love that show. At one point, they were all talking about making each other laugh and it was revealed that Neil Patrick Harris (Barney) and Jason Segel (Marshall) often reenact the “Confrontation” number from Les Miserables. Of course the two did part of it during the show, and it was frakkin’ HYSTERICAL!!! Full on Broadway singing from Marshall and Barney. It was…wait for it…wait for it…Legendary!!
