With rumors of Donnie, Jordan, Joey, Jon and Danny at a photoshoot in LA this past week, and tomorrow’s re-release of “Hangin’ Tough” and “Step by Step”, perhaps today will be the day we get the news about the NKOTB reunion. I’ll be watching out for the news and will be sure to pass word along…if there is any word. Fingers crossed!!
LOST is My Constant

Just wondering if anyone watched LOST last night with their jaw on the floor, or was it just me? Season 4 continues on in an incredible fashion with an episode that gave us a insight in to what might be the core mystery of the island – time travel.I’m kind of staring blankly at this computer screen feeling a bit overwhelmed by the pressure to post about last night’s show – one that I thought was so brilliant that it’s definitely up there with some of the best episodes this show has ever had. I’m not sure I truly understood what actually happened, and last night’s ep certainly warrants a rewatch (or 5).
Through the experience of Desmond Hume we’ve learned that the island doesn’t exactly have a healthy relationship with space and time. As hinted at by Daniel’s digital clock experiment a few weeks ago, the island seems to be on a slightly different time table than the outside world, but just how distant the island world and outside world are has yet to be seen. Is it minutes? Days? Months? Years? And just what is it about the electromagnetic properties of the island that forces those in the wrong path to experience this jump between time?
LOST viewers are trained in the art of flashes, and so I found it quite clever that what first appeared to be flash forwards of Desmond at boot camp were actually neither flash forward or flash backs…well at least not in the truest sense of the word. Desmond’s conscious, but not his physical being were being transported between 1996 and what we think to be the ‘present’ – 2004.

Food competition and HOH nominations….
Food competition was held earlier today. There is no indication as to what the competition was but they are all currently eating food. Allison went up to HOH earlier today to try and get Josh and Sharon to nominate Sheila and Adam and Matt and Natalie. She blamed the keeping of Matt and Natalie last week on Ryan (because she had a deal with both sides of the house). She was also blaming Natalie for planting seeds and saying things. She apologized to Joshuah and the hugged, but as soon as she leaves, Sharon and Chelsia say they don’t trust her. When Joshuah returned from the diary room, he said he didn’t trust her either. When it came to nominations, Matt and Natalie were on the block against Ryan and Allison.

The Hollywood Reporter says that negotiations are underway to move NBC staple SCRUBS to ABC next season. The long suffering much much applauded comedy was supposed to end air its series finale this year but that may not be the case now. Details are still being worked out but sources say that ABC is looking to pick up at least 18 episodes of the show. Zach Braff and other current cast members are said to all be on board for the move and another 18 new episodes.I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all you SCRUBS fans out there. Maybe ABC will give the show the promotion, and maybe even the ratings it deserves.
Good news or were you ready to finally say goodbye to SCRUBS?

So Joshuah and Sharon won the HOH competition and Josh is not going to let Allison know how much he despises her. Before the feeds came back on, Josh and Allison saw each other in the bathroom and Allison confronts him and says that she has heard that he called her a bitch and he replied that he didn’t call her a bitch, he called her a f***ing bitch. She claimed that he threatened to slit her throat and slung the HOH key at her. He also supposedly got in her face but has told other houseguests that he wouldn’t ever hit or touch her. She went to the Diary Room to see what she could do to get Josh kicked out. Josh was called in after Allison got out but he may have just gotten a warning because he is in the backyard talking about Amanda and then the feeds went to trivia.
JBig Brother told Josh that he has to stay 5 feet from Allison. She is currently hiding out in the bathroom. Josh and Sharon just got called to DR to get the keys for their HOH room.

I’m looking forward to April when all my favorite Thursday night shows return, but until that time I’m kind of loving the new Thursday night lineup. For tonight, I’m going to suggest you give Eli Stone a shot if you haven’t yet. It’s delightfully charming and while not dumb it does give your brain some time to relax after Lost.
Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites | 8pm on CBS
“That’s Baked, Barbecued and Fried!”
Not sure exactly what’s happening on tonight’s Survivor but I’m going to go out on the limb and say that there will be bitching, moaning, bad weather, deceit, a challenge for immunity and someone will be going home. Was that a spoiler? Oops sorry.
American Idol | 8pm on Fox
Four contestants—two women and two men—are voted off in the season’s second results show. (Note: Stay tuned to GMMR as we’re going to be polling YOU to see who might be going home tonight. Start thinking about it.)
Lost | 9pm on ABC
“The Constant”
Sayid and Desmond run into turbulence on their way to the freighter, causing Desmond to suffer unusual side effects. Charles Widmore: Alan Dale. Penny Widmore: Sonya Walger. George Minkowski: Fisher Stevens.
Eli Stone | 10pm on ABC
“One More Try”
Eli revisits an old case that he unscrupulously won for an automaker, but his efforts could be undone by a series of courtroom hallucinations; Jordan welcomes two new lawyers to the firm.
Lipstick Jungle | 10pm on NBC
“Chapter Four: Bombay Highway”
Wendy arranges a posh movie-premiere party and enlists Victory to create a dress for the lead actress. Elsewhere, Nico comes clean with the gals about her affair as the lawsuit heats up.
Now the all important question. What will YOU be watching?
AMERICAN IDOL – Top 10 Girls Perform
February 28, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Filed under American Idol, American Idol Recap
I’m going to go ahead and warn you that I was tired and kind of cranky watching the Top 10 girls perform on AMERICAN IDOL tonight. I was kind of hoping there would be a performance that would break me out of my mood, but for me there wasn’t. Forgive me if I’m a little bit bland and a tad overcritical tonight. Feel free to correct me if you thought I was way off about some of these performances. The judges and I weren’t always on the same page tonight, but I guess that’s not a new thing.
Carly Smithson is leading off for the ladies tonight. Coming into the Top 24 she was the woman to beat, or at least that’s what the producers wanted us to think. Her underwhelming performance last week was probably just a fluke. Tonight’s performance was much stronger. I wasn’t a fan of the song but maybe because I didn’t know it. I thought she was a bit screechy but overall I think she was good. Sorry, I wish I could muster a little more excitement about this chick, but I’m not quite there yet. Randy thought she was alright. He didn’t bow to her like he did last week though. Paula spoke nonsense. Simon doesn’t think that any of the girls can touch her vocally but said she hasn’t found the right song yet. He contends she’s the woman to beat. 1-866-IDOLS-01
Next up is my favorite girl of last week, Syesha Mercado. Her rendition of “Me & Mr. Jones” was sultry and sexy. For a slow song there were some great notes that she hit to showcase her range. And come on this girl is gorgeous. I’m not sure that the judges are going to love her tonight as much as I did. I’m worried that after following the rock song from Carly that this performance is going to be a little underwhelming. Let’s see. Randy thought it wasn’t the right song and suggested she pick a song better suited to her belting voice. Simon agreed. 1-866-IDOLS-02

Possible eviction votes…
So it’s been a busy few days in the house for one couple trying to secure votes. Alex and Matt agreed not to campaign against one another, however their definitions of the act were different. Alex took it to mean that they wouldn’t make deals or talk bad about one another, Matt thought they just wouldn’t talk bad about one another. Because of that, Matt and Natalie have been making deals with Allison and Ryan who were the swing vote. Sheila and Adam are voting to keep Matt and Natalie, Josh and Sharon are voting to keep Alex and Amanda. Allison and Ryan have decided to keep Matt and Natalie because until last night, Alex and Amanda had yet to talk to them about the vote. Josh and Sharon may change their vote to go along with the house, but as of last night, Amanda and Alex were headed out.
On the other hand, Jen and Parker have not made the rounds on the interview circuit and are thought to be sequestered. No one is sure if they are on the jury or if there might be a vote back in.

QUARTERLIFE Recap: Episode One

Did you all check out the new show Quarterlife last night? Sadly a technical glitch kept me from watching it, but it’s ok because I’ve got SB’s recap to catch me up to speed. If you caught the show last night let SB and others know what you thought.
Original Airdate: 2/26/08
GMMR Recapper: SB
Wow. There was SO much going on in this episode last night. Six characters, plus a couple of ancillary characters, and what felt like a zillion storylines. I do suppose, however, that this is how life sort of is, and if you were blogging about your life, the people watching would most likely jump in with both feet and catch on as they went, so I’m going to forgive that. I will say that trying to write this recap is really intimidating because so much happened, but then I realized that it wasn’t even so much plot-heavy as much as it was character sketching, so I think we can tackle this. And that’s also good news for people who missed the first episode—it won’t be hard to come in late.

ABC to Offer Shows On-Demand
February 27, 2008 by Kath Skerry
In a move that I’m particularly excited about, ABC has announced that it will offer shows free through the On-Demand system of participating cable companies. So if you miss your favorite show, you might be able to watch it right on your TV when it’s most convenient for you.
“We’re trying to drive everyone back to television but very much understand that with everybody’s lifestyles, they can’t necessarily watch that way and we don’t want to lose them altogether,” Disney spokeswoman Karen Hobson said.
Nothing of course is truly free so viewers will have to sit through a few commercials during the show, and no you can’t fast forward through them. But the on-demand broadcast will have considerably less commercial time: about 2-5 minutes per every hour long episode, as opposed to the 17 minutes during the live broadcast. Personally, I think it’s a small price to pay for watching the shows on your own schedule. No word yet on when ABC will start offering their shows On-Demand or even which shows will be offered. When I know more, you’ll know more.
I’m convinced that in the years ahead all TV will be offered On-Demand and networks will encourage viewership in this new format. The advent and mass adoption of digital video recorders (DVRs) has left networks struggling to sell their valuable ad space in a time when most viewers can simply fast forward through the commercials. With product placement and other such work arounds not quite cutting it, networks must find a way to fulfill on their advertising deals or risk losing sponsors. By offering must see advertising, networks can demand a higher premium and therefore eliminate the number of commercials interrupting an episode. It’s a win-win-win. Let’s just hope the new WGA contract considered such provisions.
What do you think of watching shows On-Demand with commercials? Is it worth it for you to sit through the commercials if it means you can watch your missed shows on television?

AMERICAN IDOL – Top 10 Guys Perform
February 26, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Filed under American Idol, American Idol Recap
With Garrett Haley and Colton Berry serving as the first two casualties for the guys this season, the remaining ten having something to prove tonight. With an overall weak first performance from almost all of the guys, here’s to hoping things take a turn for the better as the guys perform hits from the 70’s.
First up is Michael Johns, who takes on “Go Your Own Way”. He looks the part, and proved in the auditions that he has the voice, but his performance tonight was weak. He was straining his voice and barely reaching some of the notes. And I’m pretty sure he forgot the words in the middle. Are you kidding me? I have my TiVo on pause so I can write this before the judges comment, and if they give him high praise then I’m going to lock them in a room and make them listen to Paula’s new single over and over again. Randy and Paula gave him praise even if it wasn’t glowing. Come on Simon, back me up here. Simon thought it was his weakest performance and said it was just ‘ok’. 1-866-IDOLS-01
Jason Castro is up next and I hope I like him as much tonight as I did last week. I wish I could tell you the name of the song he is singing, but I think it’s by the BeeGees although I’m not completely sure. Jason once again has his guitar up there. Overall I thought his performance was charming. I like the texture of his voice. I don’t think it stood up to last week’s and I’m a little bummed about that, but personally I would take his performance over that of Michael Johns. As for the judges – well Randy wasn’t happy and said the vocals were weak. Paula liked him better than Randy and suggested that next week he not play the guitar (which I don’t really get because I don’t think the guitar detracted from his vocals). Cowell didn’t like it at all and called it ‘schmaltzy’. 1-866-IDOLS-02
Taking the stage next is Luke Menard, and takes on Queen. And for the very first note his performance is better than last week’s. He is a bit shaky when he goes up the upper range, but I thought the song fit his tenor voice. Luke needs to watch his performance as he’s a little cheesy. I appreciated the performance but I don’t think it was a real crowd pleaser. I have no idea what the judges will say about this one. Randy thought it was pretty good and definitely better than last week. Simon thought his performance was a mistake as he lacked the performance of Freddy Mercury. Hmm. Ryan just referred to Luke as “Dawson’s Creek”, and OMG he does kind of look like The Beek. I might have to vote for him just for that. 1-866-IDOLS-03
