BIG BROTHER 9: Til Death Do You Part…Let the Debauchery Begin (UPDATE)

“Expect the Unexpected” – you ain’t kidding.
Shame on me for falling a full day behind on my BIG BROTHER watching. Having missed watching the premiere live, I wasn’t able to catch it until last night. And what a thing of trashy, soul less beauty it was. I think my excitement about this show is a little unnatural. Between BIG BROTHER 9 and PARADISE HOTEL 2, maybe I should consider turning in my TV blogger’s membership card and give this site to someone more deserving.
The premiere episode of BIG BROTHER 9 is always fun because it’s the chance for the audience at home to get first impressions of the house guests and find out who we are really going to hate this season. Between the cheesy montages of everyone getting their key to the house to their obnoxious self introductions, I hate/love every minute of it. This year’s award for best/worst into goes to Natalie who delivered this doozy: “I’m Natalie. I love bikinis, coffee, and God.” – I think that was an original quote by Mary Magdalen but I’m not exactly sure.
Once the house guests got settled, started boozing and flirting, it was time for the ChenBot’s voice to echo through the house with some of the twists and turns in store for this season’s houseguests, and there were quite a few. From each house guest getting paired with their ‘soulmate’ to the big reveal that each couple would win as a team (HOH) and lose as a team (eviction), it was a flurry of “OMG”, “WTF”, and blank stares.
There were two twists in the house that no one knew of. House guests Sharon and Jacob just ended their 12 year relationship, badly. While Jen and Ryan entered the house as a secret couple. The two have been dating and living together for almost a year.
The couples were paired off together, and much to the dismay of Jen and Ryan – they were not paired together. Equally bummed was Sharon who wasn’t too pleased that her ex was now her ‘soulmate’. The only other pairing scandal was that of Sheila (46 year old mother) and Adam (29 year old PR exec). Neither were that happy to be paired together, but Sheila was down right rude about it. The former model showed utter disgust when her partner was announced, and did nothing but bitch and complain to him and to anyone else in ear shot. At one point she said, “why would Big Brother think this guy is my type. I like tall, dark and handsome.” Ouch. Adam is no prize himself but her shallowness made me want to smack her upside the head, I hope that bitch is gone soon.
I’m super excited to see how this whole Jen and Ryan scene plays out. I mean they are paired with other people, whom they also share beds with, and they are essentially competing against each other. Oh I can see the drama now.
As for the other couples, they are all a bit obnoxious and I hate/love them all. I’m so excited for this season!!

North Carolina didn’t get to watch it. UNC was playing UVA in basketball. When the game ended, CBS skipped Big Brother and put Jericho on at 10. 🙁
I actually enjoyed it more than I thought. I wasn’t sure I’d like the idea of pairing off the house guests. But it was really good.
Hey Em, it should be up on CBS.com if you want to watch it there.
I liked the unpairing of the couple, but we’ll see how long they last and I like the pairing of the ex’s… But they are both concepts that had been played in the previous seasons. Sheila reminds me of Jen from last season after her little meltdown. 😛
I’m super excited about this season! Jessica (from last season) just posted a myspace blog saying that she and Eric will be hosting tonights HOH competition! 🙂 Booya!
