The top 20 performed over the past two nights and now we must say goodbye to four contestants. Two guys and two girls will be sent home tonight on AMERICAN IDOL.
According to the poll posted earlier today, GMMR readers think that Amanda Overmyer, Kady Malloy, Jason Yeager and Luke Menard will be the ones to go tonight. But is that how America voted?
Ryan made the announcements and for the guys the bottom four were Danny Noriega, Jason Yeager, Robbie Carrico and Luke Menard. And for the girls it was Alexandrea Lushington, Amanda Overmyer, Alaina Whitaker and Kady Malloy.

Tonight we say so long farewell to Jason Yeager, Alexandrea Lushington, Alaina Whitaker and Robbie Carrico.
While I’m not shocked that Jason is going home, I’m surprised that Robbie is leaving before Luke. It must be the hair.
Alexandrea Lushington and Alaina Whitaker…WHAT?! I gotta say that I’m kind of shocked that it we are saying goodbye to these two girls. They both definitely picked the wrong song last night, but I thought they had real potential…especially Alaina. Wow, I’m really bummed out.
And can I say that I think I’m falling prey to Archuletaism. Did you see that little boy crying tonight? I was a wreck. I just wanted to hug him.

OMG he was crying?!? I love him!
Amanda is the VFTW choice for women so we’re stuck with her for awhile, unfortunately, with all of those spoilsports speed dialing for hours.
I really liked Alexandrea and am very sad about that but she took it like a trooper and belted out her final song (sang it better than the night before.) And how moved was she when she saw David A. inconsolate? I was a sobbing mess when as soon as she finished she went down to hug him. Had these two bonded in particular? I wonder what the story is there.
Anyway, even though few ladies have had breakout performances, I sort of like them all – same for the guys. So I’m resigned to keeping a box of tissues handy on Thursday nights.
I had no idea Archuleta was crying, that explained why he had his face turned away from the camera. Aww
sry for the second post but to answer Lisa’s question, if it hasn’t already been answered…Alexandrea and David were on Star Search together which is why I’m guessing they were pretty close.
Thanks, Sabrina. I meant to answer my own question as I read that elsewhere later in the day yesterday. That is so sweet. He honestly seems like the real deal. still sad about Alexandrea as I think she really has talent.
I loved Danny Noriega!! I still do. But then he got voted off of American Idol. It is all Simon’s fault though because he said he probably would go home, And he was right. 🙁 Everybody else thought that Danny was gay! Well he wasn’t ang still isn’t! I would love to go out with him. And of course I am a girl!!!!!!!
