His Royal Fierceness, PROJECT RUNWAY winner Christin Siriano appeared as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. This kid is crazy talented, and he has won be over despite my early loathing. Here he is talking to Ellen about his style, the support of his family, and his future plans.

And you know you’ve made it when you are spoofed on SNL. Check out Amy Poehler’s spot on impression of Christian from this past week’s SNL. It’s FIERCE!!

Got Questions for Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Friday Night Lights or Buffy?

Got Questions for PUSHING DAISIES, CHUCK, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS or BUFFY?

On Friday I’m heading out to LA for week full of TV fun at Paley Fest ’08. I’ll be attending some sure to be incredible panels. It’s a TV lovers dream as I’ll be front and center with the casts of Pushing Daisies, Chuck, and Friday Night Lights. Sadly, it turns out that I don’t have a ticket to the Buffy Reunion, but it’s ok – Ducky gets to go and Buffy is his favorite show. I’m bummed because I was really looking forward to it, but thems are the breaks. But if you know anyone with an extra ticket….

Check out the list below to see a full list of attendees. Pretty incredible, no?

Paley Fest 08 Panels

This is when I turn it over to YOU. I’m hoping that my little GMMRers can come up with some kick ass questions for me to ask during the Q&A session of the panels*. And if things work out I might just get some special time with some of these casts outside of Paley too so I want to make sure I get your questions answered.

So if you have any questions for the casts or creators of PUSHING DAISIES, CHUCK, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS or BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, let ’em fly in the comments.

*One quick thing…the questions should be directed to the people on the panel about the show they are representing. I just felt the need to throw that out there. So no, I won’t be asking Moderator Damon Lindelof any questions about Lost during the Chuck panel, no questions to Adam Baldwin about Serenity/Firefly, and I refuse to ask Kristin Chenoweth about Wicked. Other than that, I think it’s fair game.

Britney Spears to Guest on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Britney Spears to Guest on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Brace yourselves…it has been confirmed that Britney Spears will be making a guest appearance on an upcoming episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.  Inside sources at CBS confirmed that the pop diva turned train wreck showed up to for a read thru today.  Pink is the New Blog first broke the news and said that Brit’s scenes are mainly with Josh Radnor who plays Ted Mosby.  It’s said that there is a small chance that Britney could be a recurring character, but I doubt that’s true. And I know what you’re thinking….and NO, I don’t believe that Britney is ‘the mother’.

So are you ready for Britney to give it a go with Ted, Robin, Lily, Marshall and Barney?  Strangely enough, I think I am.  I think she’ll do fine.  But, I must say that I can’t imagine its in Britney’s interest to be working on anything but getting better right now.

Oh the Drama…Our Favorite Memorable TV Moments & Quotes

It wasn’t that long ago that GMMR readers were sharing their favorite TV quotes from the world of comedy, but now it’s time to get serious people and talk about our favorite quotes or scenes from TV’s best dramas.

There’s a lot of important moments to choose from, so I wouldn’t never expect you to add just one. Check out new quotes and memorable moments added throughout the day as they might just inspire you.

Here are just a few of my favorites to begin with:

Dawson’s Creek – “True Love”
Joey has just left a heartbroken Dawson for Pacey. A devastated Dawson returns to his bedroom to find Andie, Jen and Jack waiting for him. Jen Lindley: “This is some alternate reality where our intellects are sharper, our quips are wittier and our hearts, are repeatedly broken while faintly in the background some soon to be out of date contempo pop music plays.

And then of course from the same episode there is this…
Pacey & JoeyJoey: I think I’m in love with you.
Pacey: You think, or you know?
Joey: I know. I’ve known it since the moment you kissed me and maybe even before that. And… [exhales] … scary as it is, I don’t want to deny it any more, Pacey. I don’t want to run from it, and I don’t want to let it run from me.

Everwood – “Til Death Do Us Part”
Amy and Ephram, EverwoodEphram: You gotta stop doing that.
Amy: What?
Ephram: Saying things that make me wanna kiss you.

I’ll be adding a few more of my favorites throughout the day in the comments. Now it’s your turn.

What are your most memorable moments and quotes from your favorite TV dramas?

Project BUFFY Update

March 7, 2008 by
Filed under Buffy the Vampire Slayer

For those of you interested in the latest on Project Buffy, I’m happy to report that I’ve finished Season 4 and I’m on to Disc 2 of Season 5. I have until March 20th to finish all seven seasons. The amount of episodes I have still to watch is rather intimidating, but fear not, I will succeed.

I’m loving this show more and more with every episode. I found certain parts of Season 4 a little less interesting than others, but I’ve heard from other BUFFY fans that that seems to be the general consensus. Everyone has told me that the best has yet to come and I couldn’t be more excited.

I’m starting to get some answers to questions I had from back in Season One. Such as how on Earth do Spike and Buffy ever get together? And where the hell did Dawn come from?

Regarding Spike, I never thought I would love another Vamp like I did Angel, but damn if Spike isn’t growing on me. Having known of the character from being a basic pop culture connoisseur, I think I always assumed he was just going to be this dark and mysterious bloke…always brooding. Come to find out he’s the comic relief of the show. Brilliant. I could see Spike and I being good buds (especially as long as the chip stays in tact) – I mean we are both fans of witty banter and the telly…oh and The Creek. Had we met through Match.com I think we’d might be in one of those commercials celebrating our love (again, as long as there’s no biting…well at least not too much).

The Veto Competition…

Thursday night, BB set up a large pool table with holes in the center with bumps on the sides. They told the HGs to practice (in preparation for the Veto Competition). Sharon, Chelsia, Ryan, Adam, James and Sheila played the veto competition. Just before the competition started, all houseguests except Adam, Matt, Sheila and Natalie approached Ryan telling him that they’ll give him a 2 week deal that they won’t put him up if he puts Matt up if someone wins the Veto. He agreed after a few moments. Veto was played and Chelsia walked in with the medal around her neck, Sharon got a slop pass to use when she wants and Sheila is walking around wearing a leotard for 1 week. Sharon talked to Ryan and promised him that she’d keep him safe for 2 weeks. Josh won a letter from home and it seems that Adam gave Sheila money (?) which made her cry. UPDATE: Adam gave Sheila the 10K, but Ryan took it from her. Sheila wanted the letter from home but Josh got it.
Big Brother Food Comp and Nominations…

Everyone has been pretty laid back in the house since Allison left last night. The only couple that broke up from sleeping in the same bed together was Sheila and Adam. Chelsia admitted to James that it took almost everything she had not to cry when Julie announced that they were going to be playing separately.

Food competition was held this morning. Two teams (Red= Sharon, Josh, Chelsia and Sheila, Blue= Natalie, James, Matt and Adam) had to slide into kiddie pools and pull out letters to spell foods and write them on a blackboard. The blue team won by spelling more words. The red team is on slop for the week.

Nominations were held and Sharon and Chelsia are on the block. Ryan told Chelsia that he is using her as a pawn because Josh is useless without Sharon. They decided that if Sharon takes herself off the block, Sheila will go up. Josh is afraid of being backdoored.

LOST’s Juliet is ‘The Other Woman’

LOST’s Juliet is ‘The Other Woman’

Setting some expectations from the get go, you’re not going to find a recap of last night’s episode of LOST here.  Hell, you’re not even going to find a fully thought out article detailing the finest moments.  Why?  Well, I just got around to watching LOST this afternoon and but I don’t feel like I really absorbed everything.  It certainly requires a rewatch on my part.  That being said, I’ll share my initial, gut reaction thoughts, and then you all can tell me just how wrong I am.  Deal?

To start off things with a bang, I must say that I thought last night’s episode was the weakest of the season so far. I think I might have had unreal expectations about what we would get from an ep dedicated to the brilliant Juliet Burke. I wanted to know much more about little Miss Dr. Enigma, and I felt we got very little.  She’s a little slutty and seems to cry a lot, but really we learned more about Ben’s devious ways than we did about Juliet last night. But with regards to my use of the word ‘weakest’, I must say that it’s a relative term.  I mean we are talking LOST here, so I still thought it was a fascinating episode – Just not the best when compared to the strong eps we’ve had thus far this season.  Maybe I’ll feel better about it one my re-watch later today.

AMERICAN IDOL Top 12 Revealed

American Idol Top 12

It seems that it’s taken a long, long time to get here, but last night the Season 7 AMERICAN IDOL Top 12 were revealed. Now the real competition begins. Boys vs. Girls in a head to head battle of the voices (and personality and looks…who are we kidding).

But to get to the Top 12 we had to say goodbye to four more contestants last night and they were Danny Noriega, Luke Menard, Kady Malloy and Asia’h Epperson. A round of applause and a Paula standing O for making this far.

I wasn’t surprised and rather pleased with the four contestants that went home last night. Personally I would have liked to say goodbye to Amanda and see Asia’s leave next week, but she wasn’t going to make it far so I’m ok with it. I think we have a pretty solid Top 12 this year, and I personally think the guys are going to continue to dominate and pick off the girls one by one. It’s going to get all kinds of interesting from here on out.

Your AMERICAN IDOL Top 12 are: Amanda Overmyer, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikezie, David Archuleta, David Cook, David Hernandez, Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns, Ramiele Malubay and Syesha Mercado

Did the right people go home last night? Is this Top 12 you wanted to see?

24 Will Be Back This Fall…Sort Of

March 6, 2008 by

Fans of the show 24 were devastated when it was announced that the seventh season of the show was pushed back a full year as a result of the WGA strike. But now there’s some news out of Hollywood that should help appease the pain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox will be airing a 2 hour “24” prequel this Fall. “The movie, designed to bridge the two-year gap between Seasons 6 and 7, is targeted to air in the fall, leading to the January return of the real-time drama.”

24 fans now having something to look forward to and to hold them over until January 2008.

The April 4th premiere of LEATHERHEADS is just around the corner. Not sure I could be more excited for this movie. I mean Krasinski and Clooney on the same stage? It’s almost too much…almost.

For those of you who are looking forward to the movie, check out this new video which talks about the ‘future of football’ and features some footage from Leatherheads.

We’ve been following the progress of this movie since the early stages of casting. Make sure you check out all the latest on LEATHERHEADS here.

Syesha Mercado Sings “Saving All My Love For You”

My love for Syesha Mercado continues with her performance of the Whitney Houston classic, “Saving All My Love For You” on last night’s AMERICAN IDOL. Tell me…am I crazy to love Syesha as much as I do? I don’t hear much buzz about her these days. Then again, I don’t hear any of the girls getting much buzz.

Carly Smithson Sings “I Drove All Night” (Watch)

My favorite performance of last night’s AMERICAN IDOL was Carly Smithson’s take on “I Drove All Night”. Will we see a Smithson/Archuleta showdown in the finale? Oops, getting a bit ahead of myself, aren’t I.

Was this your cup of Irish coffee or not?

Random Thoughts by GMMR

In Van Nuys, CA the cast of THE OFFICE is probably just showing up to the set for the first time in months. I’m not sure anyone can quite understand the joy this brings me. It almost makes me feel like everything is right in this world. Then I remember I am jobless. You think anyone over there is hiring?

I just flipped on the telly and caught a few minutes of the very old, but all new GUIDING LIGHT. They revamped the way the show is shot and it’s all single-held camera. I can’t say that I’ve even seen a full episode of this show, but I can tell you that I thought I had flipped on the cable access channel. Bad acting coupled with bad camera work. Ouch. Any watchers out there?

I am so far behind on TV right now. On my DVR just mocking me is last week’s SNL, the two hour finale of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, ELI STONE from a week ago, PARADISE HOTEL 2, as well as last night’s PROJECT RUNWAY (the winner of which I already know about). Tonight I’m going out with friends so I’ll be adding LOST, SURVIVOR and another ep of ELI STONE to that list. Bad blogger.

I know I owe some people my thoughts on Seasons 2 and 3 of BUFFY. I’m going to wait until I am done with Season 4 and then I’ll do another write up. I think I have only one or two eps before I’m done. A whole season in 4 days. I’m impressed. But I still have a long way to go. I’m a bit obsessed. Poor Ducky and Rae...I’m always shooting off these little comments when I encounter something particularly surprising – like when Oz came back a few eps ago, and last night when I thought Riley was willingly working for Adam. I just don’t have anyone else to freak out with.

Speaking of Ducky, my boy is coming along with me to Los Angeles for Paley Fest and I couldn’t be more excited. I was looking forward to going before, but now that he’s coming with, I’m off the charts happy. We’ve got a full week lined up with panels for PUSHING DAISIES, CHUCK, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, and possibly BUFFY (fingers crossed…especially for Dan who is a mega fan). I’ve been talking to a few other people about some other fantastic TV experiences that I hope come to fruition while we’re out there.

Mindy Kaling – I know you are busy writing now that THE OFFICE is back to work, but come on, can’t you update your blog just once? Throw me a bone. I check multiple times a day and since V-Day there’s been nada. Do you not understand how much I enjoy your blog? I need a little fix. UPDATE: Clearly Mindy Kaling reads GMMR (ok no she doesn’t), but in a nice coincidence, Ms. Kaling just updated her blog. And I think I’m off to purchase the very product she spoke of. Thanks Mindy…we’ve missed you. (Thanks Elizabeth)

The new of Patrick Swayze’s cancer made me all kinds of sad. Here’s to hoping he pulls through. Swayze is such a cinematic icon. Nobody puts Swayze in a corner. I hope he’s feeling the collective love from fans everywhere. Perez Hilton suggested showing a vote of support by heading over to iTunes and purchasing “She’s Like the Wind” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. It’s a nice gesture, even if it was suggested by Perez.

In case you missed it, Dan and I released TV Podcast #20 last week. If you have any feedback or suggestions, we’d love if you left us a commet on one of our sites or over at iTunes. We are in the top 15 featured TV podcasts over there. What a thrill. If you happen to be a fan of our podcasts then you’ll be happy to know that we plan on doing a daily podcast while we are in LA for Paley. If you’re not a fan, well then no soup for you!
