What to Watch…Thursday, April 3, 2008
April 3, 2008 by Kath Skerry
We are one week away from the return of the official Thursday night ‘Comedy Done Right’. I’m not sure I can make it another seven days. Fans of MY NAME IS EARL are lucky to have their show back tonight, but the rest of us dying to see 30 ROCK and THE OFFICE have to sit tight. I guess I’ll just try to get through tonight’s TV activities first. There’s a nice (tall and lanky) trend to my evening. Sadly I’m going be on a plane heading back to Boston so I’m not sure just what I’ll be able to see.
Here’s just a sample of what’s on tonight…
My Name is Earl | 8pm on NBC | New! 1-hour
“I Won’t Die With A Little Help From My Friends”″
In the wake of being hit by a car, Earl slips into a coma and spirals into a bizarro sitcom world that includes an appearance by none other than Paris Hilton (appearing as herself).
Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites | 8pm on CBS
“Lost Puppy”
Another castaway is voted out of the game. (GMMR: I’m so disappointed that I love track with Survivor this season. I started off strong but it got away from me. Maybe next season?)
Eli Stone | 10pm on ABC
“Heartbeat”
While defending Nathan in a medical-malpractice suit, Eli is transported back in time to the day their father (Tom Cavanagh) died. Meanwhile, Taylor takes on an extraordinary divorce case involving cheating spouses.
The Office | 9pm-11pm on NBC

I’ll be watching The Office marathon…I can’t wait!!
Thought you should know this info, from TVGuide.com:
The Office Makes In Memoriam Dedication to a Fan
In the closing credits of a Thursday repeat, The Office made a dedication to one of its biggest fans: Nathan Robinson, a 15-year-old Newton, Mass., high school student who died March 14 of complications from the flu. (Office cast members B.J. Novak and John Krasinski are also Newton natives.)
The show’s tribute ran alongside a video of Robinson playing The Office’s theme song on the piano, as a photo of the teen appeared (below, from E!). Robinson loved music, math and the Dunder-Mifflin crew. The NBC show learned about the youth through a Boston Globe article which mentioned that a friend had encouraged him to try playing the theme song. The attempt resulted in “Nathan Plays Piano,” a 32-second clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61xdHIMGsR0)
The friend who encouraged Robinson and shot the video shared her reaction to the dedication, saying, “It was really amazing! Nathan was such a fan of The Office, and he would have been so excited.” — Anna Dimond
