What to Watch…Monday, May 12, 2008
May 12, 2008 by Kath Skerry
It’s Monday, so you know what that means…it’s time to make room on the TiVo for the plethora of shows on tonight. Personally I’m a bit screwed. I’m heading out on the 6am train to NYC to visit my friend Kelly for a few days (and to cover the Upfronts as much as I can). Mostly likely I’m going to be out tonight and unable to watch TV. I guess I’m going to be catching up online on Tuesday morning.
I’ll be sending Twitter updates throughout the day, so if you’re not already following me on Twitter you can do so here.
On to Monday night TV…
Gossip Girl | 8pm on The CW
“Women on the Verge”
An embarrassed Serena resurrects some troubling old habits as she continues to hide the truth from Dan, and her feuding friends rally to help her in her time of need. Elsewhere, Rufus’ band scores a high-profile gig, where an unexpected guest shows up to lend him support. Singer Lisa Loeb and cake designer Sylvia Weinstock appear as themselves.
The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS
“The Peanut Reaction”
Penny’s plans for a surprise birthday party for Leonard, who doesn’t usually mark the occasion, get thrown off-kilter when Sheldon gets a chance to live out one of his biggest dreams.
Bones | 8pm on Fox
“The Wannabe in the Weeds”
When the body of an aspiring singer (Ace Young of “American Idol”) is discovered, Booth and Brennan probe a club’s open-mike night, where they encounter the deceased’s friends, rivals and one dangerously obsessed fan.
How I Met Your Mother | 8:30pm on CBS
“Everything Must Go”
Britney Spears returns as Abby, who is now dating Barney, and the pair, realizing how much they currently dislike Ted, decide to flaunt their romance in front of him at the bar. Barney, however, goes a bit overboard and does something impulsive.
House | 9pm on Fox
“House’s Head”
In Part 1 of the two-part fourth-season finale, House suffers head injuries in a bus accident that also injures dozens of others. [GMMR: I’ve seen scenes from this episode and let me tell you…it looks good. Hopefully I can catch it tomorrow night or Tuesday morning.]
One Tree Hill | 9pm on The CW
“Hate is Safer Than Love”
Lucas is hurt by devastating news, and he makes a surprising revelation to Peyton. Elsewhere, Brooke’s foster baby has an emergency operation; and Skills and Nathan take a risk as they try to turn the Ravens’ season around.
Paradise Hotel 2 | 9pm on My TV
“The Ultimate Power”
The three remaining couples must vote off one player, and a surprise twist shakes things up. [GMMR: Anyone else watching? Have any favorites? I’m all about Krista and/or Mikey taking home the big prize.]
Samantha Who? |9:30pm on ABC | Season Finale
“The Birthday”
As Season 1 closes, Samantha and Todd heat up. But she steps on the brakes until he breaks up with Chloe like he promised. The problem: Chloe keeps telling Todd about her sick aunt, and Sam thinks she’s preying on his sympathy to keep from being dumped. Meanwhile, Andrea and Regina disagree on plans for Sam’s birthday.
The Bachelor | 10pm on ABC | Season Finale
In the season finale, Matt proposes marriage to the recipient of his final rose. But before making that thorny decision, he takes finalists Chelsea and Shayne home to London to meet his family.
Medium | 10pm on NBC | Season Finale
“Drowned World”
In the fourth-season finale, Allison takes on a haunted-house case that turns violent. Meanwhile, the true motives of Joe’s business associate (Kelly Preston) come to light, and the DA race between Devalos and Tom Van Dyke (John Prosky) heats up.

I will be TiVoing and subsequently watching How I Met Your Mother (I could care less about Britney’s appearance…I love Barney NPH!), Gossip Girl (I can’t help myself), House (I can’t believe how I just started watching this show this season!), Samantha Who? (even though it could be So much better and I’d be fine if it was gone), oh and The Hills (see Gossip Girl).
Woah, “House” was amazing this week! I can’t wait to see next weeks episode!
