A Plea to OFFICE Fans
May 15, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Fellow fans of THE OFFICE. It pains me in every way possible to say this, but I’m not going to be watching tonight’s season finale live. I know, I know, but it can’t be helped. While all of you on the East Coast are watching the episode I’ll be at the Fox Upfront party here in NYC. While I’m looking forward to the party I am nauseated at the thought of missing the finale.
So here’s what I ask, nee I beg of you. Please don’t leave any comments with spoilers. Don’t email me. Don’t IM me. Don’t leave me a MySpace message. Don’t text me. For my friends – don’t call me. Nothing. Not even an “OMG”, “WTF?” or something seemingly as innocent as “I’m dying”. Not at least until I jump online with an office Season Finale post. Please I can’t bear the thought of being spoiled.
Yours kindly,
GMMR

Pam looked hot! Whoops, sorry. Oh wait, thats every episode, no spoiler there.
Good luck surviving.
You can do it.
Oh, and Jim is still cute. :). That’s all I will say (and I haven’t even watched the episode yet!)
OMG! Who shot JR!?
(Aging myself… :-))
After all the insider Office stuff you’ve done for us, I’m sure everyone will abide by your request! It’s a complete media blackout folks!! But when will we get your recap? Tomorrow hopefully? (And, I’m currently dying…9pm is going to take forever.)
Got your back Kath. My lips are sealed. Or my keyboard is locked (which is probably a more appropriate term).
I hope you will be watching it tonight though because we love your recaps. Don’t make us wait too long.
Poor you! Missing a TV show to party with celebrities and drink on Fox’s tab.
I feel so bad for you, seeing how I’ll be sitting on my couch in some gym shorts eating a microwave dinner in front of the TV.
😛
All’s Quiet on the GMMR front then. We respect your wishes not to be spoiled.
That said, I am “Squee-ing” over the fact that you met and had a conversation with Pacey Witter. I have been recently re-watching DC DVDs and I am incredibly jealous. I can’t wait for Fringe, just for Josh.
I thought you should know, I think Officetally just crashed. lol
Seriously??? You want to get rid of Toby, fine. But Michael to “accidentelly” run him over? That crossed the line of believability.
I agree with Kevin! And Toby’s cappa being detated from his head…all that blood was just to graphic.
And the flashback of 60s Creed making love outdoors in the mud and the rain, with a few men slipping in…I’m suprised at you NBC!
Just Kidding of course. Thank you for allllll that you do for my Office love! We’d never dare spoil you…especially since I know how much I’d HATE it.
I see from your Twitter that you made it through The Office episode.
And let me just say from one Office fanatic to another: completely agreed. Ugh… I’ve never been more worried about the direction of the writers. I won’t sit through that love triangle that appeared to be established here. If it happens, I swear I’m gone. Yuck. Luckily, LOST was amazing and cheered me up. There have been bad episodes of The Office (and overall, this one actually had some good laughs) but the plot repelled me like this show never has before.
I really can’t decide what word I want to use to describe the way The Office left me feeling. I wasn’t really disappointed, because I thought it was much funnier than the past couple of weeks and I knew there was no way we were getting a JAM proposal. But I WAS disappointed in that all the “twists” I saw coming a mile away. The Office is often many things, but I never called it predictable until tonight.
I agree with Kath, Sam, and Crystal. I was so disappointed in the writing last night. The Jim/Pam “cliffhanger” was so clearly contrived out of a lame plot just for cliffhanger’s sake – a bad sign. I’ve never felt this show was standard sitcom as it was tonight; though a lot of it was great, it was all overshadowed by the JAM stuff and the ridiculous timing of Jan’s return.
Ugh. I wasn’t expecting to feel this way after the finale. I can only hope this is a one-time lapse of judgment on the part of the writers.
We already spent 5 months during the writers strike worrying about Pam and Jim…Now the writers want 3 more months from us? That’s more than 1/2 the year without closure for one of people’s all time fav couples…I honestly couldn’t sleep last night.
But hilarious episode 🙂
GMMR…I’m still bummed and need your recap/thoughts.
I thought it was one of the best episodes! As far as Jim and Pam, we just have to remember that it’s a TV show. I trust the writers to eventually do what we want with them. I felt like this was the “old office” everyone was wanting…and Kevin’s scenes had me laughing so hard!

Do you’ve any suggestions? Hmm it looks like your blog ate my initial comment (it was super long) so I guess Ill just sum it up what I wrote and say, Im thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but Im still new to everything. Do you might have any ideas and hints for rookie blog writers? Id surely appreciate it.
