What to Watch…Monday, July 28, 2008

While you are enjoying tonight’s TV, I’ll be finally heading home from San Diego. Yup, do to some bad weather and sucky Jet Blue I’m stuck in San Diego until tonight. A canceled flight on the way to Comic Con and a canceled flight on the way home. I think I should just stay on the East Coast for a while.

We are nearing the end of July.  I can smell Fall TV approaching.  The cast and crew of THE OFFICE went back to work today and somehow that makes all things right in the world.  Now if I could just make it back to Boston.

Here’s a little sampling of tonight’s TV…

High School Musical: Get in the Picture | 8pm on ABC
The West Coast auditions progress to the semifinal and final rounds. Those who make the finals get to be part of a summer music program in which participants will fine-tune their singing and dancing skills. Hosted by Nick Lachey.

Wanna Bet? | 9pm on ABC
Corbin Bernsen, Tom Bergeron, Rip Hamilton and Melissa Peterman are the celebs placing the wagers. Stunts include a man trying to kick himself in the head 45 times in one minute, a man who guesses guests’ weights as they stand on his stomach.

Nashville Star | 9pm on NBC
The final four perform, then the field is whittled down to three. [GMMR: For some reason this show feels like it’s been on forever.  I thought they chose the final four weeks ago. Keep on singing]

The Closer | 9pm on TNT
“Cherry Bomb”
Brenda clashes with a Sheriff when she investigates a teenage girl’s alleged suicide and uncovers evidence that leads her to believe the suicide was actually a carefully concealed murder meant to keep the sheriff’s son from being charged with rape.

Saving Grace | 10pm on TNT
“A Little Hometown Love”
Ham’s brother prepares to leave for war, while Grace and Leon discuss some of their strange dreams with each other; an officer is found murdered at a local hangout, but an odd confession makes the case even more complicated.

The Mole | 10pm on ABC
The final four face off in Buenos Aires for the final exemption. [GMMR: With all my traveling, I’m a full week behind on THE MOLE.  I’ve managed to remain spoiler free as to whom was sent packing last week.  Jet Blue doesn’t carry ABC so I won’t be able to watch the show on the plane tonight…bummer.]

Weeds | 10pm on Showtime
Nancy decides to go to the big boss when Guillermo refuses to give her a share from the operation; in Mexico, Celia takes advantage of discounted medicines at the local pharmacies; Silas and Lisa get closer; Andy and Doug continue with their plans.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl | 10:30pm on Showtime
Belle needs to pretend to be half of a swinging married couple to satisfy a pair of husband-and-wife clients that want a foursome, and when Ben volunteers to play her husband for the evening, she initially is horrified but eventually gives in.
