Happy Monday GMMRers. I hope you all had a nice weekend. I spent some time in New Hampshire with my family and had a great time. We spent a bit of time watching the Olympics this weekend and I fear that I’m going to go through a bit of Olympic withdrawl this week. I was surprised how caught up I was in the games. It was an incredible two weeks. But now it’s time to prep for Fall TV which is just around the corner. It’s time to get excited!
But until Fall TV officially kicks off, there’s plenty to watch. Here’s a few highlights of tonight’s TV schedule.
2008 Democratic National Convention | 10pm on NBC
(for full coverage check your local listings)
Michelle Obama is the featured speaker as the Democratic Convention opens in Denver. Also scheduled: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal.) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.); a tribute to Ted Kennedy. Luke Russert reports on youth issues.
America’s Toughest Jobs | 9pm on NBC
The opener of this competition series in which average joes perform dangerous and physically demanding jobs. The winner is awarded the annual salary of each job completed.
The Closer | 9pm on TNT
An intense manhunt ensues for the shooter who took aim at Detective Sanchez’s brother, but the department’s case begins to fall apart when important information is leaked and an overzealous detective decides to take matters into his own hands.
Saving Grace | 10pm on TNT
After the death of a young Mexican woman, everyone is forced to deal with and confront racial and political issues within the city; Ham continues to be shaken by a family event in his past that led to an unfortunate ending.
The Hills | 10pm on MTV
The four friends are still reeling from the pressures of their first year together in Los Angeles, and the now single girls are determined to stick it out despite problems with new boyfriends that test their loyalty to each other.
Rerun Central…
Some of my faves are in rerun mode tonight so I thought I would share a few with you. And remember, if you haven’t seen it it’s new to you!
- The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS : The men compete in the university’s lighthearted physics bowl, but Sheldon’s much-too-serious attitude forces them to replace him with his nemesis, Leslie Winkle (Sara Gilbert).
- How I Met Your Mother | 8:30pm on CBS: Barney breaks the “Bro Code” in a matter involving Ted, and he has to deal with the consequences. Little Girl: Destiny Whitlock. Cindy: Megan McNulty. Carol: Alexis Krause.
- Gossip Girl | 8pm on The CW: In the first-season finale, Blair comes to Serena’s defense and faces off with Georgina, while an emotional Serena finally comes clean to Dan about her past. Elsewhere, Lily continues planning her extravagant wedding to Bart.
- Prison Break | 8pm on Fox: Michael and Linc make their way to Panama City and their date with Susan B., but Whistler isn’t with them. Meanwhile, Mahone waits for an appointment at a Panama City cantina.
What will YOU be watching tonight?
PROJECT RUNWAY Recap: Episode 6 – Good Queen Fun

This week of Jennifer’s Runway…
When I was growing up, there were many things that I wanted to be. First, an astronaut, which is crazy because I got car sick EVERY TIME I got in the car and got dizzy on escalators. (Honestly, I was in it for the Tang. Yummers!) Second, an actor. (HAHAHAHAA! Still trying there, folks…) And third, queen. I wanted to be queen. As in “of England.” As in “of hearts.” As in “Sarah Saturday” from Mister Rogers. But had I known about queens as in “of drag” I would have said, “SIGN MY ASS UP!” (Okay, I would have made that really embarrassing noise that sounded like “katchum-katchum-katchum.” Sigh…)
As the designers gathered to hear their challenge, the beloved Chris March from last year strutted out in a “yodeling outfit” according to resident genius, Suede. Chris was dressed in his finest drag outfit complete with disco ball bra cups (so sensible!!). The challenge was issued: “Create a look for a drag queen.” HOORAY! Finally, something that these designers can dig their fake nails into.
But first up, Drag Queen Kickball! Which I didn’t mind as it was a good way to get a taste of each girls’ saucy attitude. (But SHAME ON BRAVO not giving more info on their NAMES and pics of them on the runway during their team picks. Don’t they know my TiVo isn’t set up and yet and I can’t write as fast as they intro themselves?? PISSED FISTS!)
Full disclosure: Do you know what I love about the queens most? Their names. They were all funny. Annida Greenkard. Miss Understood. Hedda Lettuce. Sharron Needles. HAHA! It reminded me of a name I used to play in a live soap opera show back at TheatreSports. Her name was Joy Stick. (What?! She was happy and thin! Where did YOU go?!) Anyway, I love names like that. If I were a drag queen today, my name would be Ima Biddy. My outfit would be a pimped out muumuu that shows off my “girls.” Cuz I’m hot that way.
But I digress…

Jennifer Eolin grew up in upstate New York. It was fun. She moved to Amish Country when she was 8. It was not fun. She moved back to upstate New York again for her senior year in high school. It was traumatic. Now she lives in a big city. It’s called Los Angeles. It’s expensive. And traumatic. Read all of Jennifer’s hilarious blogs including“Letters from Jennifer” at her MySpace page.

Neil Patrick Harris & Sarah Chalke to Host Creative Arts Emmys

With the announcement that Neil Patrick Harris and Sarah Chalke will be hosting this year’s Creative Arts Emmys we know one thing for sure…they are gonna be hella more entertaining than the Primetime Emmy awards. I mean would you rather attend a night hosted by Barney Stinson and Barbie/Elliot/ ‘the mother’ or by Howie Mandel and Jeff Probst (among others)? Yeah, exactly. And if NPH’s hosting duties are even half as fun as his announcements of the Emmy noms were then we’re in for a treat.
The Creative Arts Emmys are presented in recognition of technical and other similar achievements in television programming. Commonly awarded to behind-the-scenes personnel such as art directors, costume designers, cinematographers, casting directors, and sound editors. The Creative Arts category also includes awards for outstanding animated programs and guest acting.
The awards will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, and will be edited down into a two-hour spec to air Saturday, Sept. 20 (the night before the Primetime Emmy Awards), on E! Entertainment TV.
In other Emmys news, it was announced yesterday that the starts of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES will be presenting at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 21st at 8pm. Zzzzzzzz. Really? Are we supposed to get excited over the ladies of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES? What is this, 2004? I’m more excited about the news that Tina Fey & Amy Poehler will be presenting together! As will Hugh Laurie & Julia Louis-Dreyfuss.
Although the Emmys are long, drawn out and sometimes boring they are still my favorite of all the awards shows. I’ll be watching, will you?
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Game Show Tour

I know, I know…I should be watching IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADEPHIA. I believe you all when you tell me just how funny it is. But once again I’m pulling out the old excuse about there being just so many hours in a day, and more importantly just so much space on my DVR.
But because you all love it so much (and because my friend Sonny writes for the show and it’s the least I can do), I thought I would pass along this information about an upcoming “SUNNY Game Show”.
FX is offering fans of its hit comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia a new way to demonstrate their love for the show with the announcement of the “SUNNY Game Show” competition.
This hosted game show will give fans the chance to compete for SUNNY-themed prizes including DVD sets, SUNNY apparel and the Grand Prize: the Official Dumpster Baby Trophy (in honor of a season 3 episode in which the gang discovers an infant in a dumpster outside the bar). The game show consists of five categories of SUNNY trivia, plus a bonus spin on the official SUNNY Game Show wheel that offers contestants a chance to score additional prizes and points.

John Krasinski as Michael Phelps..Ok by Me

The comparisons between my boy John Krasinski and Olympic supahstah Michael Phelps have been non-stop. It seems others have noticed the slight resemblance too – the tall, lanky body, the big ears, the large….chin. If there were a big screen biopic, Krasinski would most certainly get the call. Phelps would be lucky to have Krasinski playing him in a movie and we would be lucky to have a movie where John Krasinski sports a speedo for two hours.
But just what would Krasinski as Phelps look like? See for yourself at Officetally.com
A Memo to BONES Fans

Memorandum
To: Bones Watchers
From: Your old pal, Seeleybaby
Date: August 21, 2008
RE: Booth needs a good spanking, and other Bones goodness
Hello, GMMR readers and BONES fans. It’s me, Seeleybaby, your host for all things BONES on GMMR. Thanks to all your enthusiasm last season we’re going to take the BONES coverage up a notch this season. Because BONES news is good news, right? I’ll be contributing to GMMR periodically and letting you know what’s up in the world of Booth, Brennan and beyond. Looking forward to watching with you all this season.
Are you ready for the premiere in two weeks? (September 3rd, 8-10 PM FOX, be there) I am. It is on my TIVO radar, which means that it is really happening. Don’t you love the DVR future recordings list? I do.
Being the resident BONES expert here on GMMR has its perks…like not having to wait another 2 weeks to see the 2-hour season premiere. I just have to wait another 2 days. I’m getting a sneak peek at the new season and I’m sure I’ll have lots (but not everything) to share soon enough.
Anyways, have you heard the poop and scoop? Brennan and Booth are headed to the old country. Some of you may remember Booth telling us in Season Three that he loved America so much that if he’d been alive during the Revolution, we’d still be English. Hmmm…also, he was drunk…but…it will be interesting to see how he feels once he’s over there.
What are you most excited about for this season of Bones? I think I’m interested to see how they handle all the Zack stuff, whether or not Angela and Hodgins will finally tie the knot, and of course, how Booth and Brennan are going to continue swirling around each other.
To wet your appetite, here are a few promo vids for the new season. The contain spoilers so beware. Actually, everything about them is a spoilers. A few more after the jump….
Season Premiere video…looks like an ending to me. VERY BIG SPOILER for the case!
Rejected Jason Mesnick is the new BACHELOR

Millions of viewers were stunned when DeAnna Pappas rejected Jason Mesnick’s proposal, as he dropped to one knee to profess his love in the season finale of “The Bachelorette.” Brokenhearted and wondering how he could have misjudged DeAnna’s intentions, Jason’s female fans flocked to support him, helping him heal from his very public dismissal. Now this handsome single dad will star in his own bid for true love, choosing from among 25 bachelorettes when “The Bachelor” returns to ABC in January 2009.
Talk to me people. Are any of you die hard fans of THE BACHELOR? Will you be watching?
Fall TV is Officially Underway…at Least in My House

This week has been better than Christmas in the GMMR house as the Fall TV screeners have just started to arrive. I’m going to be spending every free minute I can watching all the new pilots as well as returning favorite so as to properly tease the hell of ya over the next few weeks.
What I can tell you is that from what I’ve seen, you all are in for quite a treat over the next month. Last night I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning watching the first three episodes of GOSSIP GIRL and let me tell you I was giddy like a Upper East side school girl. I was XOXOing all over the place.
On tonight’s docket is the first hour of the HEROES premiere as well as the season premiere of HOUSE (perhaps the second epsisode too if I don’t get too sleepy).
Fans of BONES will be happy to know that although I haven’t yet been able to catch up on the show, our resident Brennan & Booth expert Seeleybaby will be back covering BONES this season for GMMR. She’ll be sharing the scoop on the 2-hour season premiere soon and getting everyone properly excited for the premiere in just over a week.
On the docket for this weekend is SONS OF ANARCHY (which I’m hearing is pretty damn awesome) as well as a few of the CBS pilots.
Just wanted to give you a little taste of some of the deliciousness that’s going to be coming your way over the next few weeks here at GMMR. I hope you’re half as excited as I am.

THE OFFICE Season 4 DVD will be available on September 2, 2008 but I’ve got your chance to win your very own copy from GiveMeMyRemote.com. Yup, I was gifted with a copy of Season 4 of THE OFFICE to give away to one lucky winner.
And what better way to celebrate the release of the DVD then to look back at some of the best moments of the past season. Although it was no easy task, I chose my favorite moment from each this past season’s episodes to share with you. And no, Jim’s shirtless scene didn’t make the cut (surprised? so am I!).
To enter: It’s simple and fun (that’s what she said). Share your favorite moment from Season 4 of THE OFFICE and you are automatically entered to win. A random winner will be chosen from all the valid entries. Please make sure that the email address you provide is valid so I can contact you if you are the winner.
FUN RUN
Kevin: Are you kidding me? Pam and Jim are totally hooking up
The wait was over. Jim & Pam were finally revealed as a couple and life has been good ever since. I was in Cali watching this episode with my friends K, K & J and I remember being so happy that my show was back. Little did we know the crazy season we were in for with the WGA strike, Ryan the douchebag, Toby the creepy perv and the demise of Dwangela, among so many other great things.
Kelly: I hope you’re still committed, because I’m pregnant. And guess what, buddy. I am keeping it. [cut to Kelly shaking her head no]
This is right up there in my top moments of S4 of THE OFFICE. Kelly shaking her head no was so pitch perfect that I am still laughing today just thinking about it. And this isn’t the last of Kelly Kapoor that you’re going to see on this list (but this video is some of the best Kelly Kapoor moments ever)
PROJECT RUNWAY: Good Queen Fun
August 20, 2008 by Kath Skerry
This season of PROJECT RUNWAY has been an absolute snoozefest. Some of the contestants seem more concerned with being a personality than an influential fashion designer and it’s really taken from the overall integrity of the show. We are half way through the season and I have yet to find a single designer to root for. And the clothes? There have been a few runway rags that have been great, but nothing that has been really inspired.
What is much more offensive is that the designers are bor…zzzz….ing. They need a little pep in their step and their sewing machines. So Tim and team are bringing in the big guns – NYC’s hottest drag queens. If the Queens can’t inspire greatness from these designers then I think they should all go upstairs and clean out their workspace.
Here’s a sneak peek of tonight’s Project Runway (10pm on Bravo), featuring a special appearance by an old friend.
Meet the Queens…
Meet Asshatlicious…
If Blayne (that’s not a name that’s a major appliance) would spend more time on his designs and less time trying to be Christian Siriano then he might have a shot at winning this competition (ok I don’t really believe that but I’m trying to be encouraging here). Really I just want to slap him up side his asshatlicious or douchbaglicious head.
…all this and yet for some reason I’m still watching? WHY?!
Veronica Mars: The Movie
August 19, 2008 by Kath Skerry

Don’t tease me. Especially not about this.
I don’t always buy what Ausiello is selling but I sooo want to believe his report that there is talk about a possible VERONICA MARS movie. I miss Veronica…and Logan, Wallace, Mac, and especially Dick CASABLANCAS. I am still harboring bitter feelings at how the show ended. I choose to blame The CW although I guess Rob Thomas is really the one in the wrong…he did write it. But all will be forgiven if we are given a movie. Hell, it doesn’t even need to be a theatrical release, I’d take a 2-hour CW flick, a stage show…something….anything.
According to Ausiello, Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell have recently discussed the possible big screen return of our favorite PI. When asked directly about it, creator Rob Thomas said,”Kristen and I ran into each other, and we did discuss a Veronica movie.” Ausiello also reports that Thomas has had a few talks with VM executive producer Joel Silver too.
He goes on to say, “It’s very tough to focus on it right now with two pilots on my plate, but as soon as I have any free time, that’s my top priority.”
Someone get this man some free time…I am begging you.
Perhaps a dumb question given that I know all of you so well, but would anyone else be interested in a VERONICA MARS movie?
If this happens I think it will be a bit of a shocker.
Gearing Up for Fall TV…So You Wanna Be a TV Blogger?
August 19, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Did you know that a slew of Fall TV comes back to the air in just about 10 days? How crazy is that? And by crazy of course I mean awesome. I’m super excited for all that the Fall brings (and I’m not just talking about the return of John Krasinski, Lee Pace and Zachary Levi…what new TV boyfriends will be added this year?). I’m talking about finding new favorite shows, getting caught up in new stories, and falling in love with TV all over again.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, GMMR has definitely slacked a little this summer. It wasn’t planned but the combination of the summer weather, starting a new job, and my overall lack of TV watching meant fewer updates each day. It was a nice break but I missed talking TV with all of you so I’m ready to kick off the Fall season.
By this time last year I had seen almost all of the Fall TV pilots. This year…just CBS. The after shock of the WGA strike is still very real and the networks are woefully behind on sending out screeners. It’s too bad for them because the advanced buzz they could get from critics/bloggers and the such could really do a lot to bolster their show and perhaps help them stand out in an already oversaturated TV lineup. By now I usually have my Fall Preview already written and this year I’ve only just started pulling together the information on what shows air what night…there’s really not much for me to actually review. It’s kind of sad.
But no worries. It willl all work itself over time. Everything will be fine. There’s a bunch of great new shows this season and of course there’s the much anticipated return of our favorites. Everything will be fine. (Wait, did I already say that?)
With the new season comes a few new changes here at GMMR. Not too far in the future things will look a little different around here. I’ve been working on a new look for the site. Nothing groundbreaking so dont’ get too excited, but I thought after 3 years a little change of pace might be nice. Hopefully you all will like it. And I’ve also been talking to some pretty fantastic people who might be coming on board to write for GMMR from time to time. If it works out, I know you’ll love it.
So You Wanna Be a TV Blogger?
I’m always looking for more help. There’s a lot of TV to cover and even with my 2 DVRs I can’t even scratch the surface. That’s where YOU come in. This time last year I put out the call to TV lovers such as YOU to contribute to GMMR and I must say I was overwhelmed by the response. I was touched that so many people would donate their time to help make GMMR a better community by covering their favorite shows for us. As Fall TV approaches I thought I would once again see if anyone was interested in being a contributor to GMMR.
We are always looking for smart and witty writers to provide recaps, reviews and info on the best that TV has to offer. I wish I could say there a lot of perks…but there aren’t. Sorry. But hopefully the adoration of your readers will suffice.
If you fancy yourself a writer and you are interested in writing for GMMR this season, please click here to email me and choose “News & Tips” from the drop down menu. I’ll be sure to email you back with more details.
PROJECT RUNWAY Recap: Episode 5 – The Jungle Sucks

Comments Off on PROJECT RUNWAY Recap: Episode 5 – The Jungle Sucks
The latest installment of Jennifer’s Runway takes a look at yet another disappointing episode of PROJECT RUNWAY. What is going on? I’m more convinced than ever that NBC/Bravo is trying to run the show into the ground before it makes the leap to Lifetime next season.
Jennifer’s Runway…
Dear Episode 5 of Project Runway,
WHAT THE HELL? Full disclosure: The crush I had on you has worn off. It’s like back in high school when I had a crush on this guy who seemed perfect to me. He was dreamy! Just like you! Then I re-met him years later and HOLY COW! HOW did I not ever hear that he had the MOST ANNOYING VOICE on the planet?? (Just like how didn’t I notice that you, PR, have a hump on your back, a Fozzie-Bear-Orange tan and pus-filled pimples on your ears???) I will now answer my own question in one word: Infatuation. Infatuation makes very smart people very, very, very stupid. And I dare say that this psychological equation can be applied to my (quickly slipping) relationship with you.
ISSUE 1: Team Challenges are BACK
Pllbbbt! Boo! Until you FINALLY kick off someone other than the team leader, please omit this feature on your show. Once I know that it’s a team challenge, I know that I can ignore the follies of any designer who isn’t a leader. Why? Because short of a non-leader setting a garment on fire and then trying to hump Nina’s leg while telling Kors where he can stick it, the non-leaders are safe. Immunity or not. SAFE. And that is BORING TOWN. Zzzzzzz.
The team challenge this week is to make an outfit for Brooke Sheilds’ character on Lipstick Jungle that can go from “office to night.” And the winning outfit will be worn by Brooke on the show. And speaking of Brooke…
ISSUE 2: I question Brooke Shields’ taste
WHY did she pick Blayne’s outfit as one of her 6 possibilities? Was she produced to do this? Is that why she was scared? Dammit, I need answers on this one because that just didn’t feel organic. (And it needs to be a better answer than my mother would give me when I would ask her WHY I had to dust the house. Her answer: “Because I said so!”)
Brooke picked the following leaders:
Keith (who paired with Kenley)
Korto (who has immunity and paired with Joe)
Jerell (who paired with Stella cuz she likes leathuh)
Kelli (who paired with Daniel)
Terri (who paired with Suede)
Blayne (who paired with Leanne)
Blayne said he didn’t want to make just another dress. Bully for you Blayne! Last time he said that he made a maxi-pad onesie. This statement does not give me faith in him. But it does make me want to drink. (SHIRLEY TEMPLES! Ignore my intern!!)
ISSUE 3: Speaking of Issue 2, Blayne SUCKS
I am quite convinced that Blayne has an IQ of 12.

Happy Monday to you all. While pulling together today’s ‘What to Watch’ list I was surprised to learn there was something besides the Olympic games on. Who knew? The Olympics may be exciting, but can they really hold a candle to the drama in the 4th season premiere of THE HILLS? Come on now.
Here’s a little taste of what’s on tonight…anything you’re interested in checking out?
Clearly NBC has a lot more Olympics coverage than what is shown here, but here are a few highlights of tonight’s primetime events.

9pm est on NBC
The semifinal-round of the women’s beach volleyball tournament includes Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, who have claimed three straight world titles and the 2004 Olympic crown. Likely challengers could be China or traditional beach powerhouse Brazil (LIVE ET/CT).
The Closer | 9pm on TNT
Brenda and the rest of the department begin to question the innocence of a teenage boy when they begin investigating after he suddenly goes missing, and they try to determine if he’s been murdered or simply run away.

The Hills | 10pm on MTV
The four friends are still reeling from the pressures of their first year together in Los Angeles, and the now single girls are determined to stick it out despite problems with new boyfriends that test their loyalty to each other.

Some of my faves are in rerun mode tonight so I thought I would share a few with you. And remember, if you haven’t seen it it’s new to you!
