What to Watch…Tuesday, September 2, 2008
September 2, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Welcome to the Fall 2008 TV season. It’s officially here! Things kicked off last night with the season premiere of GOSSIP GIRL, PRISON BREAK and ONE TREE HILL among others and continue tonight with one of the most anticipated Fall premieres – 90210. Since The CW opted to not send out screeners, I’ll be experiencing the all new 90210 with you all tonight at 8pm. I’m expecting a complete train wreck so it should be fantastic.
Over the course of the week we’ll be looking at the new Fall schedule to see what show’s are worthy of our precious TiVo space. Stay tuned as I’ll be posting my list of the Fall premiere dates as well as a handy dandy night-by-night grid for your viewing pleasure.
But for now, as you slowly ease yourself into yet another new TV season, here’s a few shows that you might want to check out tonight.
90210 | 8pm on The CW | 2-hour Series Premiere
The spin-off begins with Harry Wilson and his family moving from Kansas to Beverly Hills, where he becomes the new principal of West Beverly Hills High School. The move also allows him to care for his mom, a former TV star.
Gavin & Stacey | 8:40pm on BBC America
After a misunderstanding on the phone, Gavin drives to Barry Island so he and Stacey can sort things out in person. [GMMR: I’ve just seen the first episode of this show and I thought it was great. If you’re looking to check out something new away then give this one a shot. Or wait a few years until Ben Silverman rips it off and puts in on NBC].
Greek | 9pm on ABC Family
As ZBZ prepares to hold a crush party, Casey and Ashleigh realize they both have a crush on the same guy (Jesse Williams). Elsewhere, Rusty turns to his new RA, Max (Michael Rady), for advice on his education.
Big Brother 10 | 9pm on CBS
With last week’s double eviction of Ollie and Michelle, the alliance of Dan, Keesha, Memphis and Renny is still going strong. But with Jerry as this week’s HOH one of them has to go. Dan and Keesha are up on the block. Tonight we’ll see how the POV played out and whether or not the the winner used it to save Dan or Keesha from the block. I’m already spoiled on this one but I think it’s going to be interesting to see it played out on TV.
The Shield | 10pm on FX | Season Premiere
The seventh (and final) season begins with Vic challenging Shane and dealing with threats to his family. Meanwhile, a federal agent arrives in Farmington to investigate a recent wave of violence.
The Republication National Convention | 10pm on NBC
(for full coverage check your local listings)
Former Republican presidential candidates Rudolph Giuliani, Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson and former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge are among the speakers in the second session of the GOP Convention at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

I’m so glad you mentioned Gavin and Stacey! That show is so freaking adorable.
