Ricky Gervais & Steve Carell at the Emmys - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Ricky Gervais & Steve Carell at the Emmys

The best part of the Emmys was definitely the Ricky Gervias/Steve Carell bit.  Brilliant!

“I don’t think that is actually the original Emmy, I think that’s a shoddy remake.” –

“I sat through Evan Almighty. Give me my Emmy.”

Wow, I haven’t commented here for like ever!

I swear watching that little segment with Ricky and Steve was like watching a scene straight out of “The Office.” (Either version)

They need to work with each other on screen right away, because their chemistry’s awesome.

Anybody know if they’re actually close? I mean you can tell Steve Carell is close with Jon Stewart and Colbert, I wonder if he’s well acquainted with Gervais outside of the office. Just wondering because I absolutely love those 2 guys and think it’d be real cool if they had the friendship that Carell seems to have with Stewart and Colbert…

BTW, I agree. That was the highlight of the show. Ricky Gervais is one brilliant man. The beginning(which isn’t included in this vid) was also funny. The “I still won, do you remember?” was funny

    Steve Carell’s deadpan is impressive.

That was the most entertaining part of the entire Emmys…Carrell would make another great host.

That was SO awesome – especially compared to the lameness of the rest of the show!

They should definitely consider Steve Carell, Ricky Gervais and/or Tina Fey to host the show next year, instead of the stupid “reality hosts” who couldn’t tell a joke to save their lives.

That was the best! I kept waiting for Steve to crack, but he’s the ultimate straight man. Thanks for posting!

    HYSTERICAL!

I’m sure there is some kind of relationship there since I am pretty sure Gervais is an EP on The Office with Stephen Merchant. Best part of the show, hands down. I say let Ricky host next year and throw the script out the window. Let him do the whole thing off the cuff. It can’t get any worse. I mean, have you seen the ratings?

Best bit of the show. More! More!

Steve Carell should get an Emmy for THAT. Wow. How cruel that his wife couldn’t hold it together and was laughing her head off. Seeing Jon Stewart and Colbert made it even funnier. Loved how Gervais just threw in those little comments….”still won, though”

I’m sure I saw Carrell shove RG back as he came on stage with Hanks. Bravo, Steve. Gervais is no genius. He’s just plain crass and classless.

I was really disappointed to see Gervais re-appear after a late-show hiatus.

How can anyone think he’s brilliant? He couldn’t carry Don Rickles’ valise.

    Pure classless insults, nothing more.
