GMMR Fall TV: Wednesday Night
September 24, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Thank you Wednesdays!! I can breathe…and see friends…and read a book (ok, who am I kidding). But with only a few shows to watch, Wednesday really is the hump day of the week. Of course rather than doing any of the aforementioned activities I’ll probably be catching up on TV leftovers from Monday & Tuesday night and resting up for the Thursday night TV juggernaut. Oh the life of a TV blogger.
PUSHING DAISIES (premiering Oct 1st): One of the highlights of my TV week. I love PUSHING DAISIES so much that it’s right up there with THE OFFICE as the only other show that fits into all three of my viewing preference categories: Both shows I will watch live, DVR it to rewatch later in the night and later in the week, and then for good measure I might just go ahead and watch it online. We’ll definitely be talking PUSHING DAISIES on GMMR, but full coverage of the show will be over at ThePieMaker.com (and if you are a fan or want to be a fan, check out The Pie Maker today!)
DIRTY SEXY MONEY (premiering Oct 1st): The dear, distrubed, dysfunctional Darlings. What will they have in store for us this season? DIRTY SEXY MONEY started off strong last season but ran into a few bumps along the way before it got lost within the WGA strike. I’m going to go ahead and stick with it. If nothing else its good, campy fun on an otherwise slow TV night.
BONES : Don’t get all excited. No, I’m not going to be watching BONES live. But GMMR’s resident BONES expert, Seeleybaby, will be watching and she’ll catch us all up on the latest with Booth, Brennan, Sweets and more (see I pay attention to the recaps).
PRIVATE PRACTICE (premiering Oct 1st): I wasn’t sure what category to put PRIVATE PRACTICE in. I was a little ‘eh’ on the show last year but had high hopes for the new season. But after watching the season premiere I’m not sure I’m going to make PRIVATE PRACTICE appointment TV. I’ll probably still watch but I’m not going to go out of my way to try to watch it on Wednesday nights. Unless I see a dramatic improvement, PRIVATE PRACTICE will be a “whenever I feel like it show”

Oh, and don’t even talk to me about FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Starting October 1st, FNL will be airing all new episodes on DirecTV. I don’t have DirectTV so I can’t watch. But all ethics will be thrown out the window if I find those episodes floating around online. I need FNL! Starting in February (as in a long, long time from now), the episodes will begin airing on NBC.
Tell us what YOUR Wednesday night TV schedule looks like. What shows are you watching live, TiVoing for later, watching online or maybe ditching all together? And if you have DirecTV will you be watching FNL? No, don’t tell me…I don’t want to know.

Wednesdays are easy. ABC all the way! Love all 3 shows and they’re pretty much the only ones I watch.
Watch later (if I ever feel like it):
ANTM-lost interest in this show when Caridee won (didn’t care for her nor anyone else who has won after her). Continued watching but it’s predictable, nothing’s new, and Tyra gets more over-the-top as it goes on. Plus, what on earth happens to these girls after the show is over anyways?
Knight Rider-saw the pilot (not the movie) online. I thought it was eh but want to see if it improves or not. Plus, I’m a fan of 2 of the actors.
It’s killing me this year that Bones and Pushing Daisies are on at the same time. I still haven’t decided which one to watch live…..
Also, South Park will air on Wednesdays on Comedy Central. (I know GMMR is not a fan, but I thought It bore mentioning).
The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried (maybe if it’s good enough), Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, Lipstick Jungle.
All DVRd.
HA!
