Bragate and Heartbreak on THE AMAZING RACE
October 13, 2008 by Kath Skerry
I’ve just picked up my clue from the clue box and it’s telling me to step away from my computer and to go get my errands done as I don’t get many days off anymore. But before I do, there’s thing one Roadblock that I must complete before moving on to the Pit Stop (also known as the grocery store, mechanic, and Target) – and that’s talking about last night’s episode of THE AMAZING RAGE.I must say, I found the episode to be kind of boring. I didn’t find the challenges all that exciting to watch. And there was something odd about watching the team members fight those women. But the Nellie in me was more shocked by the fact that the producers would allow the contestants to take to the cobblestone streets on those rickety bicycles…without helmets?! That looked scary.
The infighting between the teams has begun, and this week it didn’t even involve Sarah or her partner, the Devil. This time around the divorcees were all pissy with Nick and Starr because they thought that Starr had pushed one of their sports bras off a ledge? What? Pull it together ladies. And you wonder why your husbands left you. Let’s hope this little spat turns into a full on brawl in the coming weeks. Now that would be fun to watch.
What wasn’t fun to watch was the Philimination of my two favorite racers – Bill and Mark. The comic book guys were racing a good leg, but when their failure to properly read a clue gave them a 30 minute penalty, it was the divorcees that took the final safe spot on the mat, sending Bill and Mark back to San Diego. Bummer. I’m not sure I like any of the other contestants this season. I knew it was too early for a “However, this leg is one of only a few non-elimination legs, so I’m happy to report that you are still in the race“, but I was still holding out hope.
Oh well. I guess I’m going to have to find another team to cheer for. Who is worthy?

The contestants on the bikes did have helmets, they were covered with feathers.
I was right there with you, sad to see my favorite Team Geek go home, but I knew there was no way they could survive – the producers didn’t even really make it all that suspenseful, which just annoyed me, I pretty much knew what was coming the whole time. I think I’m going to have to transfer my allegiance to Toni and Dallas, perhaps? At least I can stand them.
Bummed!
I don’t like anyone else particularly. Perhaps mom and som but parent/child teams rarely do well.
