What to Watch…Thursday, October 16, 2008
October 16, 2008 by Kath Skerry
It’s not often I got a whole night without watching any TV, but that was the case last night when rather than watch the tube, I watched in awe as Madonna took to the stage here in Boston. An incredible concert experience. A true legend and still kicking all kinds of ass at 50.
But nothing could tear me away from TV tonight…not with new episode of some of my faves. So here’s a few shows that I’ll be watching tonight.
What will YOU be watching?
Ugly Betty | 8pm on ABC
Betty tries to make amends when Gio returns; Daniel receives some shocking family news.[GMMR: I’m thisclose to being over Ugly Betty – someone convince me to stick with it. Anyone? Preferably the writers of the show.]
My Name is Earl | 8pm on NBC
Earl goes to cheerleading camp with Randy, where Earl goes to drastic measures to ensure that Randy’s cheerleading dreams come true; Joy is hurt when her son suggests that Catalina is the most beautiful woman in Camden.

Overwhelming hunger and homesickness put one castaway’s entire alliance in jeopardy; a frustrating performance in an immunity challenge tests a strong bond.

Kath & Kim | 8:30pm on NBC
Kath tries to put her business on the map; Craig finds a new job, but Kim’s antics get him in trouble on the first day of work.
The Office | 9pm on NBC
Michael has Dwight go over possible birthing scenarios to prepare for the birth of Jan’s baby; Michael tells Holly he will pretend to not like her for Jan’s benefit.
Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday | 9:30pm on NBC
Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers and the SNL crew take there Saturday night staple to Thursdays with a look at the week that was. Expect special election coverage. Perhaps Tina Fey?
Grey’s Anatomy | 9pm on ABC
Derek finds Meredith’s mother’s old diary; Callie anxiously prepares for her first real date with Erica; Cristina stumbles into a part of the hospital that she and the other residents haven’t seen before.

The original CSIs do what they do best when a hypnotist bank robber becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation.

Life on Mars | 10pm on ABC
Still tortured by the turn of events in his life, Sam focuses on a series of fatal robberies, and tries to prove himself to Lt. Hunt and the rest of the squad members.
Eleventh Hour | 10pm on CBS
When seemingly healthy youths in Georgia die of heart attacks, Jacob must determine the cause to prevent further deaths.
ER | 10pm on NBC
Neela is upset when she finds out Abby’s good news second hand; the new chief, Catherine Banfield, and Abby disagree on how to treat a gunshot wound victim; Abby defends Sam when she goes before a nurses disciplinary board.

ya i unforch had to give up on Betty, too many other shows on at the same time that i want to watch and Betty has been declining with each episode. i read the re-cap the next day but had to stop watching. 🙁 i miss the Betty i fell for 2 years ago!!
I have dropped Betty too. So I’ll be watching Kath & Kim (it’s not thaaaat bad), THE OFFICE, SNL, and Grey’s. Where’s Office Thursday??
Hope you didn’t miss it, but the series premiere of Life on Mars was last week. I think Eleventh Hour might’ve been, too. They do have new eps tonight, though.
Nope. I just didn’t update the post properly.
Really looking forward to Life On Mars tonight (as well as The Office!) I loved the premiere last week (I was actually surprised by how much I liked it)
ugly betty’s off the dvr now. what a shame because the first season was so great. but, marc and amanda still rule.
right now, just looking forward to the office on thursdays.
**Possible Spoiler Alert***
I heard somewhere that Amanda would be moving in with Betty, that should liven things up a bit.
I’ve been kinda down on betty too, but I think last weeks episode really got me back on the band wagon. I thought it was great! Ugly betty is at it’s best when Marc and Amanda are included in the story lines.
Sadly at this point the Mode After Dark webisodes and the Podcast are more entertaining to me.
