BROTHERS & SISTERS: Unfinished Business

Brothers and Sisters

“No, basic demolition is what we to each other at dinner, after we’ve had copious amounts of wine!”

Brothers and Sisters are back this week with bang and heap of construction/destruction. Hey GMMRers, Jamie with you all once again to survey the drama and damage created by our favorite dysfunctional family the Walker’s.

This week Nora recruits the family to demo the interior her new house aka the “Center.” Kitty and Robert take another scary step towards adoption. Steven Weber was back this week as Graham makes Sarah an amazing offer. Holly finally pushes Tommy to his limit when she offers Rebecca a high level executive position at the winery without consulting him and he finally takes Saul up on his offer to get rid of Holly from Ojia. Oh the drama.

It all began this week with Nora bamboozling Kevin, Scotty, Saul and Justin into “touring” the house for her new center but really she was drafting them as her new construction team. Nora easily guilt’s them into helping.

Holly lets Rebecca sit in on a wine campaign presentation during which Becca shares her own thoughts and ideas on marketing. I actually did find her idea and approach was effective and smart but not deserving of a promotion. Holly offers her a full-time job and even gives her Saul’s old office. With Tommy out of town Rebecca is hesitant but takes the job anyway. When she announces the news to the Walker family the uncomfortable pauses and Justin instantly questioning her qualifications. Holly does admit to Rebecca that she did get the job because she’s her daughter, but also because she believes in Rebecca.

Sarah has lined up a meeting with a potential investor for Greenatopia. Ethan and Kyle are very nervous and Sarah is running around trying to clean her dinning room.  It’s quite funny actually to see her do housework. Surprise, surprise, surprise the investor she’s meeting is none other than Graham Finch.

For those that don’t know or remember Graham was Sarah’s hot affair last year and he was involved with the business deal that nearly killed Ojia.

During the meeting they banter back and forth and flirt so transparently that Ethan and Kyle get suspicious. Sarah asks for their trust and agrees to meet with Graham for dinner. Graham makes Sarah a million dollar off with a few conditions.  She becomes CEO and Ethan & Kyle are designated as figure heads – they will have no say in the business. As you would expect, the guys are less than thrilled with the idea and actually become quite angry. In the end, Sarah opts not to sell out Kyle and Ethan and their dream.  She declines the business offer but does get it on with Graham in her kitchen, and it was smoking hot!

Robert spends most of the episode trying to convince Kitty to consider surrogacy instead of adoption. As Kitty is pondering that option, Trish, the birth mother who rejected them calls and asks to meet up. Trish actually apologizes for freaking out and thanks Kitty for forcing her to think really hard about the baby and giving it up. She has and believes 100% this is the right thing to do and that Kitty and Robert are the right parents for her baby. Kitty is stunned and thrilled but Robert is exceptionally hesitant. After a pep talk from Kevin and a moving speech by Kitty’ about how messing and complicated can be wonderful, (more about that in a second) he jumps on the adoption train once again and he and Kitty join Trish for an ultrasound.

At the construction site, aka “the Center” the Walkers are all attempting to help Nora by destroying the place. When Nora smashes a load bearing wall that causes the ceiling to nearly crash down on her, she completely loses it and wants to give up. Kitty tries to convince Nora that they all have messy, complicated lives and her dream is not a mistake. Unfortunately at first Nora is not convinced and runs out but is eventually swayed to keep the house and continue on with her dream.

Was that fancy tile or a painting the boys discovered, I couldn’t tell? [GMMR: It was a mosaic I think…so tile.]

Tommy returns from his business trip to find Rebecca in Saul’s old office. He plays nice with Rebecca but attacks Holly for hiring her when he had to fire his brother. Holly is her normal bitchy self and tells him to take it to the board. This was the straw that broke the camels back because he calls Saul to his office and its game on time. Tommy and Saul are going to bring Holly down!!! YES!! I’ve been waiting for this for so long.

What are your thoughts on this episode? Are you excited to see Tommy and Saul team up? Do you think Trish is for real or is heartbreak ahead for Kitty? Do you think Graham is sticking around for awhile and do you want him to?

Your Brothers and Sisters devotee for this season is Jamie aka Jamer (GMMR handle). She hails from Vancouver BC and is pumped to be adding a dash of Canadian flare to the GMMR. So what will the Walker’s have in store for us this year? I don’t know but let’s enjoy the bumpy ride together!

B & S has gotten into a rut. Sally Fields has a break down about half way through, yells at everyone, and it makes things better.
They need new writers. I did like the ending with Saul, though.

I sort of feel like I’m going through the motions when it comes to B&S. Agreed that the ending w/ Saul was great & hopefully means that there will actually be a storyline that I can sink my teeth into.

As for hte Rebecca promotion storyline. Seriously? Not sure how anyone in their right mind would think that it’s feasible that a temp can move right into a sr. position. Even if *I* was Rebecca, I’d be questioning it.
